Stevie Johnson signs 5 year deal (1 Viewer)

I think Stevie has a lot of talent - he did get sucked into TO type dumb antics whic I hope he cuts out....I see him as a solid #2 WR next season that you could probably get on the cheap.

If this guy matures this is a good deal for the Bills...they're a tough spot to attract free agents to so they need to make sure they keep their own players...

I think that's a fair deal for a guy of his age and talent profile. He's had back to back 70+ catch, 1,000 yard seasons and, as noted, while he's had a few boneheaded moments he by all accounts is a good kid off the field and in the locker room.

Agree on much of what has been said - if he cuts down on the boneheaded plays and stays more focused, he could move up even higher in the echelon of NFL WRs.

Has great chemistry with Fitzpatrick, and as a Stevie owner myself, I am glad he's staying put.

$36M, $19M guaranteed and $24M in the first 3 years. That's a lot of dough, but I think he's worth it if he cuts out the boneheaded celebration antics. And I absolutely love this:http://p.twimg.com/AnOqruXCMAA_YWD.png:large
Did you see the picture Fitz sent back from that text? He actually got it done. I love that about him.

Stevie said all along he wanted to stay in Buffalo. Some guys say that while really just wanting the most money. I think SJ's contract is actually very reasonable and today showed that he did really want to be in Buffalo.

As much as I've criticized Ryan Fitzpatrick after he signed his deal and questioned whether the Bills should keep him, it's obvious that this group of players really do love playing with each other and for this coaching staff. Ultimately, that type of attitude breeds success and entices other players to come be a part of it. The Bills have long had to pay a premium to get free agents. Perhaps with the way things are headed, free agents will be more willing to give Buffalo a fair shot.

Even though they can be incredibly frustrating, it's hard not to like this group of players and they truly seem to love and appreciate ther fans.

And yeah, Fitz's haircut is hilarious and awful. :lmao:

Id take Stevie last season with the bonehead mistakes than the quiet one who doesn't produce. Its strange how that works though, sometimes it feels like that cocky attitude gives the guy the attitude needed to be a good wr. Maybe its just the confidence to know he can step up and make plays. But either way I love the signing. The wheels fell off the offense due to injury last year but when they clicked it was a top offense. Im excited. Freddie coming back healthy, Spiller getting hot, the line getting healthy and adding talent through the draft.

Does anyone else think that this was actually a bit low for Stevie? Quite a few WRs have signed 5 year deals in the past 24 months, most of which got more than Stevie....

Brandon Marshall - $47.3M back in 2010

Holmes - $45M

Sidney Rice - $41M

Marshall was probably seen as more a difference maker than Stevie, even if the numbers were there for both.As for Holmes and Rice, probably more right time, right place in that the market for #1 WRs was a lot less saturated than it is this year. Classic supply/demand dynamics.
