In the following video's you will see plenty of grabbing of the facemask and blows to the head with no penalty. If they are truly worried about player safety why has this not been addressed. The problem I have is the so called rules of safety that protects only the offensive players. If a defensive players even sniffs an offesive players helmet he gets flagged.

have always been a little puzzled by the inconsistency with this one a little as well.....I'm cool with legit stiff arm to a certain extent....but when they actually grab the facemask and kind of pull it down or when they get the hand up under the face mask, lik ethe lineman do then I think it needs to be illegal.....if "hands to the face" is a safety issue, it should be a safety issue everywhere on the field.....

Facemask rule applies to all players, not just offense. It was changed in the last couple of years IIRC.

GRASPING FACEMASK

Article 5 No player shall twist, turn, or pull the facemask of an opponent in any direction.

Penalty: For twisting, turning, or pulling the mask: Loss of 15 yards. A personal foul. The player may

be disqualified if the action is judged by the official(s) to be of a flagrant nature.
