Stokely is on most waiver wires right now. All the focus will be on Marshall after last weeks showing. Stokely could be a very sneaky pickup if Walker is hurt for an extended period of time.

(rotoworld.com)Javon Walker sat out practice Wednesday due to some inflammation in his knee, but is expected to play Sunday against the Colts."We thought we’d give him a day’s rest," Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said. "It’s been sore the last couple of weeks." The knee that's troubling Walker is the same one he had surgically repaired in 2005, so this is of some concern. It also could explain Walker's inability to get open last week against Jacksonville. Walker had an MRI on the knee, but the results were negative. Sep. 26 - 6:13 pm etSource: denverbroncos.com

report said there is swelling in his knee. He is being held out of practice.
he's far from being ruled out at this point....ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -Javon Walker skipped practice Wednesday with swelling in his surgically repaired right knee, a potentially ominous sign for the Denver Broncos and their star receiver.

``Javon just had a little swelling in there, he's had it for the last couple weeks,'' coach Mike Shanahan said. ``Thought we'd give him a day's rest. Hopefully it gets better.''

Walker missed almost all of his 2005 season in Green Bay after tearing his right ACL in the opener at Detroit. He joined the Broncos in a draft-day trade last year and caught 69 passes for 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns. He became just the third wide receiver since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger to record a TD run and a TD reception of at least 70 yards.

He had a solid training camp, showing flashes of his former self and declaring that he finally felt fully recovered from his knee operations. Walker predicted he could gain 1,600 yards receiving this season and started out strong, posting 100-yard games in the first two weeks before being held to 10 yards on two catches in a loss to Jacksonville on Sunday.

Asked if Walker's injury was anything alarming, Shanahan said, ``hopefully not.''

An MRI on Walker's knee showed ``nothing serious, some inflammation,'' Shanahan said. ``Hopefully, it gets better.''

Shanahan said he expects Walker to play Sunday at Indianapolis.

Quarterback Jay Cutler (ankle) participated in the entire practice, but safety John Lynch (groin) sat out and likely won't test it until Friday, Shanahan said.

How does this translate to Walker possibly being out an extended period of time?

he said HURT for an extended period of time, not OUT.

If he is banged up and misses plays here and there or is generally not as effective or as explosive as usual, what kind of impact would this have on Stokely's numbers? I think that was more the intent of the question.

Personally, if I'm a Walker owner, Stokely is someone I'm keeping a very close eye on. Even as the WR3, he is still being targeted and tends to catch most that's thrown his way.

He's caught 3 balls in each of his first 3 games and has a TD.

Wouldn't surprise me if those numbers improve in the next couple of weeks.

Walker just might be a buy low candidate right now, hard to fathom just one week ago....Now Stokely is projected to get better stats in a highly possible shootout this week vs. the Colts....

He might be dinged up right now, but who isn't ???
