Storage Wars on A&E TV (2 Viewers)

Anyone watch Storage Hunters on TruTV??

The other day they opened a unit that was an obvious meth lab. Auctioneer says as long as he doesn't see the drugs he can sell it. One guy in the crowd has his face blurred, he buys the unit for $150 or so, runs up closes the door puts a new lock on it and takes off running.

They also seem to find a bunch of porn, condoms, sex toys... on that show. One unit was said to have belonged to an 80s kid star, it had a mattress, beer bottles, and cabinet in it. the cabinet had a sex doll, nazi outfit and porn. They wouldn't say who it belonged to though.

Seeing how much fakery there is in Pawn Stars I wouldn't be surprised about this show either.

Thought about going to the Pawn Stars shop while was in Vegas and nearly all the reviews talk about how the show is a set, the shop is very small and totally different, and you will never see any of the people on the show there - ever. They basically shut the place down to do the show. There's no such thing as those 4 guys sitting in the shop and working, like they portray.

and Hardcore Pawn is 100x faker than Pawn Stars.

I'm really in lust with Brandi.
:goodposting:Yup. In addition to already demonstrating that she makes some really poor choices (looking at you, Jared), there's just something about her. She's a dirty, dirty girl.

:tfp: that is hard to look away from. It's like 'Why am I watching this crap'? 'Not only is it fake but I hate all of these idiots'.

Detestable racists IMO.

loved the look Brandy gave when Bellao(sp) said they were all friends. Not sure a new show based in texas is needed but i'll watch
Just love the look she's been sporting lately (nice dress skirt/dress thingy last night). Looks like she has some more $ in her pocket to keep up her looks. She's probably a solid 5 on the offdee scale.

I love this show. I also love Auction Hunters with Ton Jones and Allen Haff. These guys had a show in Texas with giant wood containers and they found some insanely awesome stuff. Lots of very cool shotguns and hand guns. Texas looks like a fun venue for these types of shows.Love them both. And Brandi looks better and better each week. I loved when she told Jarod to just kick Dave's ###. Gold.

My new addiction this show. I want to go to one of these auctions just once to see if they are anywhere near as entertaining as they seem.

You realize this is 99.9% made up right? They could hold the show anywhere and could find really cool things.

I went into the shop in Vegas. Definitely legit. The older guy (not oldest) from the show walked out from the back to speak with another employee for a couple minutes then dissappeared. Not for show, he was just doing some work in the back. There was a line of people that showed up to sell junk...one had a bag of old bayonettes. The employee said "We only ask about $10 bucks for these, so I can only give you $4 each. Hey ___ (other employee), how much do we sell these for?" Other employee: "About $8." First employee: "See? I'll give you 4 bucks each".My friend bought an awesome lighter for $80, retail was about $500 but it was older and a little messed up. He brought it back for a refund per an agreement with the guy who sold it to him...when re-filled with gas at the place across the street, it didn't light properly. My point is, it's definitely legit. They mark everything waaaay up due to the cool factor of the show though. Silver coins are sold for like 150% value at least.

They said last night on the Storage Wars show that they buy somewhere between 10-25 lockers for every one that they show on tv. Which makes it seem like it could be a little more legit when they find cool stuff.

But it certainly makes their whole "tally" at the end of who won for the day and who lost a big joke. When they say that so-and-so left with nothing, it's more likely they he left with 10 cheap lockers filled with junk and no drama to show on tv.

But it certainly makes their whole "tally" at the end of who won for the day and who lost a big joke.
Worst part of the show IMO. I hate when they get something appraised and the guy says, well I guess if you find the right buyer, maybe 1 to 2 thousand dollars and they immediately ring it up as 2k.While Auction Hunters is no less fake a show, at least they attempt to show what the haggling process is like.

Real...fake, I don't really care. The shows are very entertaining and I enjoy wathcing them.Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup!

i find that part boring as hell. i like storage wars exactly how it is. the tally thing is for fun, no big deal.

That's not the impression I got. The impression I got is that if they say they didn't buy any lockers, they really didn't buy any lockers that day. However, they only film like one day every couple weeks and these guys are going to auctions 5 days a week. I do think the tally is bs though. First episode yesterday, Dave just looks at stuff and starts throwing out numbers, then finds the violin and says he doesn't even care about the other stuff right now he needs to get this looked at. So he goes out, finds out it's only worth $100 and that is added to the total of dollar amounts he was just throwing out there. Then the show ends with him taking a loss even though he hadn't even looked at like half his unit yet.

i went to one here in my small town....about 40 people there....one locker but it was a big one....tons of junk in it...bidding started at $100, 30 seconds later it was sold for $1200...

Brandi is the only reason to watch when they show these eight hour blocks of storage wars. I knew a girl in high school who looks just like Brandi. Unfortunately, I mean the high school aged girl... that same girl now is ~100 lbs more than in high school and does not look like Brandi. What a waste.

After all theses episodes, finally they got some epic butt shots for Brandi in the ATV episode. She must have known they were coming as she wore skin tight jeans. All sorts of wonderful bent over positions. Cameraman deserves a raise.

Referencing the cute, sexy, beautiful thread...

Brandi is what I would call cute and sexy. The face is cute, the body is sexy. Nice combo. And I see they've made her wear tighter clothes.

Is it bad I went on google maps to see how long the drive is from here to their thrift shop? (25mins)

She must have been a fine piece when she was younger and before kids. She has two kids and is in her early 30's and still looks pretty good.

This keeps going and she is gonna be tempted to leave that Jarod kook, although I doubt she bails on the kids. The guy's lucky to have them. :D

Yeah, no way you get any of the prices they say they're getting... just all a part of it. They should add in things like labor, gas, rent, etc...or show the ones people really get burned on...but then they wouldn't have a show. I think I said it before but can you imagine what these auctions must look like these days around the country? There could not be a bigger premium on these trash closets than there is right now, ever. The auction businesses must be just killing it, that's where the money is (was).

1.) Brandi

2.) Gary

3.) Tank Top Kook

4.) Rico Suave

5.) Jarrods

There was just an article in the paper that someone at one of the Storage Wars auctions found like half a million in dubloons In a 1K locker. Will find the link when I get home, but unfortunately the cameras weren't rolling as it wsn't one of the big 5.

The one The Big Guy linked above? Yeah, lottery ticket. Except that these lottery tickets cost way, WAY more. And pay a million times less. Not to mention it's probably embellished, like the rest. These lockers must be going for twice as much, or more, because of these shows. Funny ####.

Barry really sucks at this.
He's my favorite, tho. He's really the only one that I could see sitting down and grabbing a beer with. The others are all either morons or jerks (Hi Dave).
Yeah, if you don't like Barry, you don't like beer, the guy is classic. I get the feeling Barry's got plenty of dough and was just an old dude poking around for a hobby. He's been around the block and then some. Definitely shticking it up for the cameras. I want Barry to end up bagging Brandi, then Jarrett go to prison. THAT is how the season should end, our ratings would go through the roof. :hifive:
Love this show. I get the same vibe from Barry, but then I was watching the repeats and it shows him spending tons of time trying to sell a box of used power tools. He ended up selling it to Brandy and her hubby for the money in his pocket (stripper singles per Barry). Also remember another show where he spent tons of time trying to sell some junk. Maybe he was bored and had nothing to do or was just drumming up time for the show, but it didn't have the plenty of dough feel.

Guy has a lot of fancy cars, so one would have to think he's got some cash. And I gotta suspect their episode paychecks are bigger than what they end up spending on lockers (at least in Barry's case.) I suspect the trying to sell stuff is engineered by the producers.

Dave Hester vs. Trey Songz: Who owns "YUUP!"?

Trey Songz Sued Over “YUUP” Catchphrase

by Morris Moore November 15th, 2011 @ 11:33am

(AllHipHop News)R&B singer Trey Songz is going after a reality show star he has accused of stealing his signature “YUUP” catchphrase.

Trey’s lawyer sent a cease and desist letter to Dave “The Mogul” Hester of “Storage Wars,” claiming that his usage of the phrase during the show’s auction segments.

As a result, Hester filed a lawsuit against Trey Songz in Manhattan Federal Court, claiming there’s a distinct difference in their usage of the term “YUUP.”

According to The New York Post, Hester’s lawsuit claims Trey Songz’ catchphrase resembles an “animal-like or non-human squeal which begins with a distinct ‘yeeee’ sound before finishing with a squeal-like ‘uuuup’ sound.”

Dave Hester says his auction phrase is meant to convey the meaning of ‘yes.’”

I am claiming ownership to the word "The." Everyone, please stop using that word.

I would disagree on this. I don't know specifics, but I doubt they're paid much at all. Per episode, it's probably closer to a few hundred dollars rather than a few thousand. IIRC, on "Deadliest Catch", which has been around for like 7 years, the guys on that show aren't paid enough to cover what they have to pay for food.

Prior to the Northwestern and Time Bandit's renegotiation, the boats got $75k per season iirc. Sig made extra because he also had producer credits. Read somewhere he gets $1mil per season now.

Anyone notice Barry sounds like Jack Nicholson?
I love Barry, my favorite character on the show. King of kooks
You mean, "anyone notice Barry tries very hard to be Jack Nicholson?"Yeah, from the moment I saw him. I like the guy but he does try very hard to be cool.Serious disposable income... Sells very little, keeps or donates most of what he buys. Kind of surprised he doesn't get into bidding wars with Hester too much.
