Giants Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Strahan's worst fears did not come true but he also wasn't given the best of news today.

Strahan told FOXSports.com on the way back from his mid-morning MRI that doctors have told him he'll be on crutches for at least the next week because of sprained ligaments in his right foot.

"They told me anywhere from two to eight weeks, they don't know for sure," said a very somber Strahan. "It's really up to how long it takes to heal. It's not torn but it's similar to the injury that I had as a rookie that kept me out for several weeks

I feel they should not see a huge drop-off in production. They have 3 more solid DEs to pick up some slack. Obviously you can't replace a pro-bowl caliber player.

... and two of those three are already hurt.When 3 of your top 4 DEs are hurt, I don't know how you can't expect a drop off in production.

According to KFFL Osi is OUT and Tuck and Short are not expected to play. Really bad news for the Giants defense but take this with a grain of salt as Monday reports for next weeks game (especially with a tight-lipped regime like Coughlin's) are dubious at best.
