I see the memes on Facebook all of the time that ask if you would help a law enforcement officer that was in need. Looks like we know this guy's answer.

Sounds like not only an ambush, but the attacker clearly wanted to kill the trooper up close and personal.  

Good riddance.  Would really like to know more about the attacker's motivation.
