**Streaming Defense 2015** Week 15 - Playoffs: No time to get cute (1 Viewer)

Anyone considering the Lions here at home vs Philly? They have held GB and Oakland to virtually nothing the last 2 weeks. Plus they get a prime time bump.

It's either them or NYG @ Wash. The Jets can eat my ###. Done with them.

I just cut Philly to sign Detroit. Guaranteed points if Sanchez starts.

So how would you guys rank these 3 these this week?

Denver

Buffalo

Oakland
Buffalo (pass rush is improving)

Denver (Ware still out with back injury)

Oakland

The Raiders have surrendered a ton of points and don't force a lot of turnovers. Kahlil Mack is a load, Woodson is having a phenomenal year. But they've been fading the last couple weeks.
I'd rate my grammar skills behind Oakland in this list.

Sigh. -8 from Philly vs the 28 spot KC put up leaves me scrambling.
I had the exact same match-up this week. I don't think Philly is as bad as they looked today, but it sure isn't encouraging. I picked up Houston this week and am considering rolling them out ROS. Only hesitation is next week's matchup. Philly is at Detroit, Houston is home vs NO.
I was thinking the same exact thing about Philly and I'm considering picking up Houston or the Steelers if I can't get them.
If you can get Houston I think you have to go for it. They're playing out of their mind right now. One TD in like 14 quarters.

If you can only afford to use one roster spot for your D, I'd go with Houston even if that meant taking the one-week hit. They're worth it ROS.

If you have two, then you have a decision to make. NO obviously isn't a great match-up, though the game is in Houston. Meanwhile, Detroit has looked pretty blah on offense lately, but hard to trust Philly going forward. Classic dilemma between good D/bad match-up and mediocre D/good match-up.
Actually a two game hit with Houston right? They play NE week week 14.

Dag...Detroit's playoff schedule isn't bad either. May be worth holding if they keep playing well. @StL @NO SF
I like detroits playoff schedule a lot actually. I think they're a good hold.

Pair Houston and Detroit? Lions are at STL Week 14.

Read this thread and thought I could get away with one more week of waiting on KC. Not after today :kicksrock:

Tampa Bay perking my interest now.
TB has been doing ok point scoring wise. Picked them up this week to use instead of Den as no one scores well vs pats. Hoping for a few sacks/picks for TB as Indy does give up some points.

Snagged KC after waivers ran. Pairing then with the Jets for the remainder. Now I just have to make the playoffs.

Thoughts on Cincy?

They seem to be available on both wires.
I am going with Cincy this week. Not sure of your choices but Cincy looks like my best option.
Ditto

Benching DEN

Not sure why but I also have BUF rostered
Looking out, I like the Bengals 4 of the next 5 weeks.

STL, @CLE, PIT, @SF, @DEN

The only offense in that whole mix that scares me even a little bit is PIT. That game is in Cincy, and it could very well be a physical, low scoring game.

Sold me on that. I had Philly and was wavering on them or getting Detroit. In the end, always to just get the better overall team IMO.

Agreed. Like Cincy and dropped Philly for them. Just can't trust Philly after that Tampa game. Can look for a Pit week flyer but I like Cincy matchups moving forward.

As you progress toward the playoff you can look at adding another defense to play matchups if you don't like that Pitt game or Denver looks like it's offense is picking up toward year end.

Heck, maybe Manning will be back for week 17 for a juicy matchup and throw a bunch of pick sixes.

Dropped Philly for Detroit. It's between the Lions and Houston for me this week. Leaning Lions. Austin is still a good DC and they've been coming on as of late.

Its actually week 16, but that is the championship game for most leagues, so it could be a good scenario for championships.

Yes. 16 is what I meant. Looking ahead to that Pitt game, Cleveland versus San Fran could be a good add to cover week 14 if you advance to playoffs.

Only problem with Cinci is 3/4 of their last fantasy defense games are away. Defense at home always seems to be a plus, but you can't argue with the schedule, especially if you are still searching for a solid defense right now.

I like PIT the rest of the way, especially weeks 15-16...

Sea

Ind

Cin

Den

Bal

Week 14 I have a bye for playoffs clinched already so the Cincinnati matchup doesn't scare me. But Seattle hasn't been amazing, and then you've got a backup qb week 13, 15 and 16...

I like the CIN schedule. I usually try to load up a pair for the stretch run. CIN+NE looks like nice, but I'd have to drop DEN and that's not going to happen. Would you guys go DEN+CIN or DEN+NE (17-week league)?

12 13 14 15 16 17

DEN: NE @SD OAK @PIT CIN SD - great D but some bad matchups

CIN: STL @CLE PIT @SF @DEN BAL - basically, what Ceasar said

NE: @DEN PHI @HOU TEN @NYJ @MIA - a lot of road games, but no scary offenses

Now trying to decide between the Lions and Packers
Toss up for this week, but GB also gets DET next week.

In Detroit, where the Lions have won the last two. Austin seems to come up with pretty good game plans to foil AR.

I have CIN-DEN combo but prefer DEN-NE, and I'd go Pats this weekend.

Thanks to everyone for convincing me on the Chiefs last week, it looks like they are playing super tough and have righted the ship. They could be great through the rest of the year.

Thinking of pairing TB with Eagles rest of the way. Fantasy points against rank in parentheses.

Week 12- Phi @ Det(8th)

Week 13- TB vs Atl(22nd but struggling)

Week 14- Phi vs Buf (14th, possible EJ)

Week 15- TB @ Stl (6th)

Week 16- TB vs Chi (10th)

Okay guys. Just nervous to stream the Browns but will listen. Here goes nothing...
I dont know the exact number, someone please correct me if Im wrong, but Shaubs last 4 games he started had a pick 6?
Bill Barnwell wrote a piece a few years ago for Grantland, when Schaub was busy melting down in Houston, pointing out that pick sixes are basically random, and there's nothing inherent to QB play that makes them more likely (though I suspect anyone who ever watched Chad Pennington throw an out route might disagree).

I'm not saying Schaub's going to be good. But the pick six thing was probably just a flukey streak.

Yeah, dropped Philly for Cinncy (before yesterday's game thankfully) May also go get TB to pair up.

Starting to like the Vikings more after yesterday's Packers loss. They've been solid most of the season for points allowed before last week and get to face a struggling Atlanta offense with plenty of motivation to regain first place in the division. Tougher to trust them on the road but if Week 11 was more of an aberration and they get back to slowing down the run and applying pass rush pressure they could come through this week.

The NE offense might slow down due to OL/WR injuries. I'm not sure if NE's defensive success hinges on their offense scoring so much that it makes the other team one-dimensional. If so, their D may be less FF relevant ROS.

I really haven't seen them play much. Thoughts?

Based on the way the Jets are playing, I don't really trust them anymore in even a so-so match-up. That means not only are they out against NE in Week 16, but also against the NYG next week. But they do have good match-ups in Weeks 14-15 (Tenn, @Dallas).

Considering a couple options to pair them with ROS. Buffalo is available in my league, and they're probably the best overall D, but they do have a neutral-to-negative matchup in Week 13 (Houston), followed by a great playoff schedule (@Phi, @Was, Dallas).

Other option is to pair them with the resurgent Detroit D for the playoffs: @STL, @NO, SF. Problem is that doesn't help in Week 13, when Detroit plays GB (at home, but still). Maybe find a one-week streamer for Week 13 like Chicago (vs SF)

Finally, I could just try to play the Dallas sweepstakes: Was in Week 13, Buffalo in Week 15 and Jets in Week 16 (they play GB, who is already owned, in Week 14).

At this point, leaning Buffalo, based on the "best D available" theory. But Detroit could change my mind, especially if they play the Packers tough next week.
