23rdYeah, I don't get the San Diego love. If people are thinking they'll see a similar game from two weeks ago, they are mistaken. Denver had no Head Coach, was traveling on 3 days rest. Talk about flat. And Rivers and the Chargers live for that game, on national TV no less. The Broncos will be more than ready for revenge. And if the motivation side doesn't matter to you, Denver doesn't give up a lot to opposing D's (but I don't want to look it up right now). Likely even less at Mile High.
The reason to take the Chargers is to be first in line for next week's Great WW Defensive Hope . . . . two match ups at home against Tennessee and Miami.
Considering the same. SD had 2 turnovers and 2 sacks in the first meeting. No CJ, Bosa, Flowers back for this one.rickyg said:Am I crazy for considering benching Philadelphia D at Dallas for San Diego at Denver?
Yea I agree. Good call guys you saved my week. So most people who used SD are u planning on streaming them the next couple weeks?Congrats to those trumpeting the SD fantasy D... they've looked like a completely different team since Bosa and Jatavius Brown started playing, and now they just got Flowers back in the secondary.
In my league, they've finished 19th, 4th, 19th, and 4th, and now get to line up Tennessee and Miami at home before their bye. They're high on my list of targets for this week.
Can PHI D be trusted vs DAL?
Dallas doesn't turn the ball over, but it'll likely be a low-scoring affair. Would you rather have KC vs IND (who does turn the ball over) or NYJ vs CLE (with a backup QB)?
I think Minnesota was averaging one point a game to opposing defenses coming into last week. Worst match-up in the league last week and Philly still put up 25-30 points per league. Just saying...
Came here to point out that my instincts were right... but that I didn't trust myself.I am wondering the same thing. I have been running with PHI for several weeks now and they have been fantastic every week but 1. DAL doesnt turn the ball over but we would have said the same thing about MINN last week. So what do you guys expect from PHI this week? Would you play them? They are getting multiple sacks every week...
This is what I'm wondering too.Do you guys like SD again this week against Tenn? I was also thinking Dallas D against Clev might be a decent choice but now hear that Dallas may have lost a couple starters in their defensive backfield.
San Diego could turn into a weekly hold too with so few defenses worthy of a roster spot. It's also a pretty tasty schedule:Grabbed SD this morning and plan to add them in two other leagues as well. Dallas feels less predictable to me... I don't know who their real playmakers are on D (there's Lee, but who's getting to the QB? shut down corner? pass rush?), plus they just lost Claiborne and Church (very likely at least for this week).
San Diego has yet to allow a 100-yard rusher... think about that. Bosa's setting rookie records for QB pressures per games played. Flowers just returned at DB... Tennessee doesn't scare me... they run the ball well, but SD stops the run well too. And to me, SD is much more likely to build a big lead and force Tennessee to play from behind, which leads to mistakes, sacks, and TOs.
No. hold themIs it time to drop Minnesota? After the last two week not sure if i can get much value for them and they play Detroit this weekend. Also the offense is a mess and the defense is on the field way to much.
Yeah me too. Turned out to be quite a good play.Started Chicago.![]()
I was leaning this way until I looked into SD. I would be more confident in Baltimore if I knew Big Ben was to sit.Yeah me too. Turned out to be quite a good play.
Looking like Im going Ravens this week.
They had SD ranked in the mid 20s last week. I ignored the rankings last week and will do so this week as well.I almost grabbed the Chargers as well, but was surprised to see FantasyPros' consensus has SD down at 20th this week while DAL (@CLE) and MIA (vs. NYJ) are 8th/9th respectively.
Our league has PA bonuses / penalties from +15 to -12, so it's always good to bet against bad offenses. Anyone feel like talking me off the Miami ledge, at home against LOL Jets?

somewhat surprising to me as well.I see both Tremblay and Dodds both have the Giants ranked pretty high this week.
Giants secondary is almost completely healthy (DRC/Jenkins/Apple as well as the safeties Berhe/Collins) and the pass rush has started to make more of an impact. Facing a much more conservative Wentz with Ryan Mathews almost phased out for Sproles, Jordamn Mathews the only WR winning his 1-on-1's and for some reason Ertz not getting catches? And playing in NY? Giants are definitely an under the radar D to target this week.somewhat surprising to me as well.
wow, thanks for the analysis. might need to snag NYG over SD now.Giants secondary is almost completely healthy (DRC/Jenkins/Apple as well as the safeties Berhe/Collins) and the pass rush has started to make more of an impact. Whoa, don't have to drop SD. There can be more than one good streamer out there!I have SD in there. So what are we doing now? Dropping for NYG?
Cowboys fan here and just want to give you some insight. Their defense typically do not generate a pass rush. They focus on containment relying on their safety and CBs to defend the pass. A big problem presents itself this week. Barry Church, our top safety is out with a fractured forearm. Mo Claiborne, who is having a breakout season with a team top CB PFF grade of 83.2 in week 8 is also out with a torn groin. They plan on inserting rookie Anthony Brown in Claiborne's spot. JJ Wilcox will replace Church at safety and he was the bottom ranked safety during the preseason at ProFootballFocus. Good luck to those streaming them.Have the Cowboys rostered along with the Bills.
Cowboys have a solid matchup (hope it's not a trap game), but I think Buffalo is a much better single hold and play ROS.
Given byes and injuries, will need to drop one of them. Do I take the hit htis week and keep Buffalo for the long haul? Or get the potential higher weekly points with DAL and try to hope to hit streamers going forward? Thoughts on this kind of approach (using BUF weekly or hoping for the best DAL this week and streaming going forward)? Concern I would have is finding a great wire D whose schedule matches up well with either DAL or another waiver D.
Buffalo, Kansas City or New England ROS?
Me too, now that I see both of SD LBers are unlikely to play.wow, thanks for the analysis. might need to snag NYG over SD now.
No. Their only attribute is that they play from ahead which normally translates into #s for an average or better D. They are not this. Are folks holding onto NE for their schedule after the bye or going the streaming route?
Chicago is the only team on that list still on our ww, so they're a possibility. Also considering the Redskins against the suddenly hapless Vikings.
Who are you targeting for streaming this week? Some options some may have include:
BAL v CLE
CHI v TB
GB v TEN
HOU v JAX
NYJ v LA
SD v MIA
