**Streaming Defense** Weeks 14-16 FF Playoffs (2 Viewers)

Chargers again for me this week

Dropping GB for BUF this weekend if my bid goes through

Almost out of moves (we cap at 32 transactions) so rolling with Bills and Bolts ROS

You think it's worth it to pick up sd to block my opponent who has no def this week?

I would say no unless you commit to starting them after their week 11 bye. Who's your other D?

There are some pretty decent streaming options for this week so you may just be angling that team to another good option while wasting your bench spot.

BTW...I just binge watched all 6 seasons of GOT and little finger is definitely a man with a plan.  Love it.

Rams and Jets are both out there, I am trying to decide which one of these monkeys trying to #### a football offenses I want to bet against.

Good for you  that show rocks.

MN is my def.  prob gonna play them ros unless they just fall off a cliff. Hopefully they get a little better on offense

Just picked up NE off waivers. Pretty pumped, their schedule the rest of the way looks very good. Highly considering keeping them for the rest of the season.

I am doing that in one league

Bump for Week 10.

Dallas came through for those who streamed them (4th highest scoring D in my yards/points/3-and-outs system).

Looking forward, trying to decide not only the Week10 streaming candidate, but who might be good pairs to have whose combined schedule looks to make a strong playoff run possible.

For example, Ds like LA, BUF, and NE are on the wire given byes. I've seen NE be a Top 5 ranked D ROS on multiple sites (including FBG), and Ds like LA and BUF still have solid personnel to make them potentially worth picking up and using by themselves through ROS.

On the other hand, if I kept DAL, I really like the way they match up with Ds like NE and even CHI in terms of combined schedule opportunity:

The Cowboys have faced the NFL’s easiest strength of schedule this season. They're the only team that hasn't faced a current division leader

I was watching them intently when I owned them hoping they'd be a weekly play going forward. I really don't think they are. Yes they play with a lead which is great but they can't get to the QB or force turnovers on a regular basis.

Yea they haven't been great this year, but they really don't face any good offenses going forward. I'm sure they can force some turnovers against SF, LA, NYJ (twice). SEA (in NE), BAL and DEN are their other opponents and none of those offenses scare me.

FWIW was facing the same situation and pushed in my chips on the Rams -- even though they are on the road, their D has remained fairly legit this season and have some good matchups down the road (MIA, SF) to think about streaming.

Actually thinking of pairing them with the Chargers through the playoffs, as except for arguably week 14 and 15, they have some favorable matchup combos.

Number one target tonight is LAR. Don't love the road spot, but against a hobbled Fitz with limited weapons I don't see offensive fireworks.

Next is Washington. Have been sneaky solid. MN with all kinds of O-line problems, can't run the ball, and seem petrified of throwing the ball down the field.

Last resort would be Chicago. Getting a big body back and statistically are a sound D. Winston seems to give away a couple each week. Still, in Tampa with a potentially healthy D. Martin and Cutler throwing against that rotten secondary has one part of me thinking this could turn into a shoot out.

They have been disappointing this year in fantasy. I noticed that last week Bloom promised that he wouldn't recommend the Patriots D again, but then this week he recommended them for next week as a preemptive pickup.  :loco:

I think the best is yet to come for them.

Looking to pick up another DEF for my playoff run (weeks 14-16). Already own SD (CAR OAK CLE).  Which other team do you like:

NYJ (SF MIA NE)

BUF (PIT CLE MIA)

MIA (AZ NYJ BUF)

CIN (CLE PIT HOU)

NO (TB AZ TB)

Trying to decide between Chargers and Eagles this week. Chargers with Bosa have been a different proposition and you know Tannehill will turn it over, just concened about Ajayi, he's all they have. Eagles are very good at home but tough to bet against Ryan these days.

Already own SD (CAR OAK CLE).
Looking at carrying SD through playoffs as well. Momentum in the NFL changes all the time, but right now, the matchups against a resurging CAR offense and an OAK offense that looks pretty dynamic in a lot of facets with a nasty O-line, only the CLE matchup looks really juicy.

Out of the others you mention, Jets seem to pair up best with them.

I like what I saw out of Buffalo the other night TBH. That's give you two DEFs against CLE in 15 and 16.

emerging Carolina offense? They scored 7 points last week. Their DEFENSE is what has emerged.

Fair points -- guess for me, the fact that they are winning again is pretty salient - before the bye, they were 1-6, but seem to have come back with purpose since the bye with two straight wins.

Let's also not forget that even in that losing streak, they were putting up 46, 48, 41 point games, with 30 against a fairly stout ARI team after the bye.

So they can hang points on the board against good and bad teams alike, and seem to have more of a fire and purpose to win now (which to me makes them emerging).

I picked up DAL last week to cover DEN bye in week 11. If Talib's out again I am wondering if DAL is a better play this week. Any opinions?

Played SD last week.  Have them in for week 10 but having second thoughts.  Thinking about swapping them for Wash vs Minn.  What do you all think?

picked up DAL last week in several leagues and had double digit points .... staying with them this week - not the best matchup but nothing better for this week available in the FA pile

You all asked for thoughts, so I'm giving you mine:

@Hot Sauce Guy: I'm on that train with you, GB, and debating picking up the Bills or SD to hold in tandem with LA going forward.

@Andrew74: Both DAL and DEN play some tough opponents on the road (NO and PIT, respectively). NO is traditionally tough offensively at home, and without Talib, and now DE Wolfe (elbow fracture) DEN is a little more exposed. The Raiders seemed to scheme well against Miller and Ward to get their run game going, so something I am sure NO looked at on tape. On Dallas, would check the status of guys like Ryan Davis (inactive, hamstring last week), Claiborne (CB, groin, inactive last week), and Church (forearm, inactive last week) and whether they are back practicing. If so, I'm going to go against the concensus grain and roll with DAL if they get some of these pieces healthy and back on the field than take a shot on a DEN team reeling from a road loss and trending in the wrong direction facing Brees on his own turf.

@steelwind: Think this is a bit of a coinflip. SD still has some juice and momentum, and MIA (aside from Ajayi) hasn't shown spark. Minny is falling apart. Both of these Ds are at home, but I think I'd roll with SD as I think their updside is higher.

Take this with all the salt one guy's opinion should be taken with.

Rolling with Philly in two leagues this week despite the matchup. None of the alternatives (Wash/Jets/Houston) are good enough to justify the extra roster spot.

Question: Are there any really good Ds this year? I guess Seattle and Denver when they're healthy. I still like Philly/Minny but they're both clearly struggling. Other than streaming the Browns' opponent, I'm not sure there's a winning strategy this year.

Went Washington this week over Philly. Had to drop Buff on the bye but I'll probably get them back.

Philly does play better at home but Atlanta is on a different level.

I noticed Buffalo is still sitting on the wire, unnoticed in 2 of my leagues.  My bigger cash leagues as well. I plan on getting BUF back as well, that CLE matchup in week 15 looks like something I am planning ahead on already. Once the playoffs hit, I often have 2 good defenses to rotate, if at all possible and I get who I want in advance.

New England is available in another league ofmine, and the next few weeks they have a great matchups... SF NYJ and LA. The problem is I am sitting on MIN there.  :wall:

They have looked bad recently though, I may change over next week after waivers clear if no one grabs NE. (I refuse to give up #2 priority on a defense)  :)

As much as I liked Philly earlier in the season, I'm not sold on them being a must start anymore, and certainly not this week.   In fact, I am not in love with their schedule rest-of-season either.

I said it earlier in this thread, maybe week 4 or 5.  Its time we start looking at SAN DIEGO as a startable defense.  At the time it was pretty much scoffed at, but look what they have done recently.  (they were getting sacks and INT's, even in "bad" weeks)

They have CLEVELAND IN WEEK 16 , and I plan on having them in a spot or two if I can when the time comes.

Its far too early for me to think about stashing a week 16 secondary defense, but along about week 13 I start getting an itchy trigger finger for it, and this year will be no exception.
