Streaming or currently airing TV shows (AKA Netflix thread) (18 Viewers)

Started watching Justified last night. Always heard good things so my expectations are high.
I watched a few episodes and thought it was a boring, formula episodic type show and didnt understand the hype at all but maybe it got better?

First season is more episodic, but by the end of Season 1 you'll be glad you stuck it out. They figured out what they wanted it to be, Boyd became a real thing, and the rest of the show is gold.

Is it good all the way to the end?

Stumbled upon a show last night (okay, I didn't stumble, I actively set out to find this and spoke into my remove asking for it :bag: ) on The Learning Channel (which I've come to believe doesn't actually air anything that has to do with learning) called (I don't think I can say this word on this website but it rhymes with DILF) Manor.

I made it about 12 minutes and I am here to tell if we as a society were looking for a true bottom in the world of reality television, we have found it. I can't imagine this is REAL reality TV, but even if this is pure fabrication, it makes some of the genres available on the hubs look like G rated family fun by comparison. This level of depravity whether real or scripted is coming from the mind of somebody or somebodies who need psychological help.

Avoid.
Are they vegan?

The "Ms" for sure are not.

I'm on the fourth season of Letterkenny. It's been a while since I've seen a show that made me laugh this much.

I started the spinoff Shoresy and it is hilarious. I could watch Jared Keeso insulting peoples moms all day long.
Just started shorsey after a buddy of mine sent me a clip of his “huh” routine. :lmao: killed me

I’m giggling now thinking about it

Man I can’t remember if I watched Shoresy yet. Show is hilarious though

Yep I would tell anyone to give it 1 season. Most of the middle of season 1 is fluff but overall ends up being a great show

My Life as a Rolling Stone (streaming on something called MGM+)
This documentary is four episodes, 1 hour each featuring Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts.

I was searching for documentaries on the Stones, and this one popped up. Through Amazon Prime they offer an option to watch the first episode for free, and I was hooked so then I needed to find out how to watch the other episodes. It turns out it's an MGM+ Original Production. I guess the platform formerly known as EPIX is now MGM+. MGM+ offers a 7 day free trial and then it's $5.99 after that.

There have been so many documentaries put out on these guys it's hard to find anything new and fresh on them. The Keith Richards documentary on Netflix is 8 years old and most other documentaries seem to be hack jobs that are done primarily without the participation of the band. Just talking heads and old video clips.
This series however has is all new, all fresh and each band member is exclusively engaged in each episode. With the exception of Charlie, which unfortunately this appears to have been produced at the time of his passing.
I'm a huge Stones fan, so I loved this. If I had one criticism, I would say each episode is too short. Would have liked more programming that included Jones, Taylor, Wyman and even a minute on Ian Stewart. Other than that, I thought it was really well done, and after watching all four episodes a couple of days ago, I'm watching them all again today.

It is. I was satisfied even with the finale.

Have you watched "Gimme Shelter" yet? It's on HBO Max and it's excellent. Especially the behind the scenes footage. Cannot believe they allowed the Hells Angels to work security for that concert. Unreal.

I have. A couple of times. Great doc!

They've tried twice now and both are a BIG swing and a miss..
First was the horrible "That 80's show" that lasted 1 season and that was 1 season too long.

Now they tried "That 90's show".. Not as bad as the first try.. Probably because Red and Kitty still produce a few

But the Kids are beyond dull .. We made it through 4 episodes and are done :kicksrock:

I couldn't even make it through the trailer.

I heard 4 seconds of a commercial for it while driving and intentionally crashed into a tree.

90s show wasn’t great, but the wife and I still enjoyed it. We would have been a similar age in that time period though so maybe that’s why.

Started watching Justified last night. Always heard good things so my expectations are high.

I mentioned a little while back that my wife and I started it after hearing a lot about it here. Well, we’ve already binged through all of it and it was great. The leads are pretty outstanding and they get a ton of known actors playing small roles. You have to suspend disbelief at moments like just about any show but overall we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We don't really binge so if we like it, it'll probably be a good years worth of entertainment.

If we both really like a show we will binge it - but even this was unusual for us. We liked it that much. We also know a lot of hillbillies and I’m a whiskey nerd so it hit on some themes that piqued our interest.

I'm on the fourth season of Letterkenny. It's been a while since I've seen a show that made me laugh this much.
Funniest show I've ever seen.
To be fair.
I had never heard of this show. Watched a few minutes yesterday and had to turn it off because I was laughing so hard my wife got mad at me.
The long philosophical discussions in front of the produce stand are particularly hilarious.
Back to chorin'.

Traitor on Netflix. The beginning was very intriguing to us, but through episode three it's gone off the rails of any semblance of believability. We'll stick with it, but not surprised it only got 3 stars.

The girl hockey players trading barbs might be one of my favorite scenes ever

Also Jean-Jacques François Jacques Jean :lmao:

God that whole show is gold…

Six Feet Under for best show ending of all time.

Whenever I hear Sia's "Breathe Me" (which, admittedly, isn't often), the final scenes of "Six Feet Under" immediately come to mind. I'm not sure there's another song I identify more closely with a TV show than that one. (The song was totally new to me at the time, so maybe that's why.)

You'll know within minutes of the first episode if this is for you cuz they hit the high notes right off the bat.

I just started watching. It's hilarious. In episode 3 when they called out Gail for misuse of the website, beer came out of my nose. So damn funny. I'm not sure how I missed this show.
