Quick rundown of some I watched over the weekend:

While She Was Out - Kim Basinger starred in this movie and even was an Executive Producer. She is a suburban housewife that has a #### for a husband and twin kids (boy and girl). She has to run the mall to get wrapping paper for Christmas...some person parks in two parking places...she leaves a note...and then the games begin. Overall, I thought it was a well written movie, but some of the acting is subpar...gave it 3 out of 5 stars.

Under Suspicion - Stars Gene Hackman, Morgan Freeman, Thomas Jane and the beautiful Monica Belluci. I believe I saw this before, but I watched it again. I loved the plot behind the movie...however, it was sometimes overacted during the film...loved the spin at the end...gave it 3 out of 5 stars.

Gone - No big names in this movie...takes place in Australia. Two British college grads join up with an American traveller...but the guy is a bit messed up in the head...things get out of hand for the Brits...nice plot and decently acted...3 out of 5 stars.

The Legend of Bloody - Don't waste your time...1 out of 5 stars

Triangle - Stars Melissa George...a group of people get on a sailing boat...they hit a bizarre storm...board an old cruise ship...the rest is really weird, but very interesting...3 out of 5 stars.

Pan's Labyrinth is available in streaming through August 14. I watched it for the second time tonight. Truly a wonderful movie.

Pillars of the Earth, Blow, In Cold Blood, Spartacus Blood and Sand, Yellowstone: Battle for Life, When we Left Earth...

Series:

Tudors, Lost, Arrested Development, Weeds, Bones, King of the Hill...

Watched "The Orphanage" last night. Between this and "Pan's Labyrinth", it seems like I need to be watching more Spanish films.

Beautifully conceived and composed, it's eerie, sometimes frightening and surprisingly moving.

Check out The Devil's Backbone as soon as you can then. Also directed by Del Toro and along the same lines of awesomeness.(Available for Netflix streaming 9/3)

Sweet. Adding both of those to my queue now.

And looking at my queue, I see these listed as "coming soon" to Instant...

The Cove

Star Trek (2009)

Blood Simple

Defiance

I'm looking forward to Blood Simple. Never seen it and I like most Cohen Bros. films.Personally, I thought Defiance was slow and overlong. Worth a watch, I guess.Where on the site does it show "coming soon"?
As far as I know you can only see that if it's in your regular DVD Queue. The Instant column will have either nothing, Play, Coming soon, or an actual date that it's coming.

If you have them in your regular queue, they will indicate if they are "coming soon" or have a scheduled release date.Blood Simple was a great, great, movie. Almost technically flawless and had a lot in common with No Country For Old Men as far as style. Can't wait for the Coen's True Grit remake this winter, I have very high expectations.

The Fall is in English and has some of the most incredible imagery ever caught on film, all without the use of computer animations. It was literally filmed in dozens of different countries. The best Fantasy film produced in the last 10 years, and yes that includes The Lord of the Rings.

I thought I remembered it being subtitled. Maybe it's because the little girl is Spanish. :rolleyes:Either way it's a great story and visually stunning. I should go pick it up on BluRay.

Also available now...

Waiting For Guffman

Jackie Brown

Wonder Boys

Swamp Thing (probably terrible, but I remember liking it as a kid)

La Dolce Vita

Rabbit-Proof Fence

This was one of my netflix suggestions and I really enjoyed it. InkLate one night, a lost soul named Ink snatches 8-year-old Emma (Quinn Hunchar) into the world of dreams. There, he hopes to use her soul to join the ranks of the evil Incubi. In the real world, Emma lies comatose, to the despair of her father, John (Chris Kelly). But the Incubi's benevolent opposites -- the Storytellers -- rally to help Emma, motivating John to wage war for his daughter. Jessica Duffy co-stars in this dark fable.
 Another recommendation for this one. Reminded me a bit of Donnie Darko in terms of darkness and style. Check it out.

It should really be watched in HD. Get it as a Blu-Ray if you have the ability.

The Searchers

Eh. Just furthers my case that "classic" movies aren't all that. It was good enough, but nothing I need to see again.

Started watching Pushing Daisies. Why did I not watch this show when it was on TV? Great show. And I think the woman who plays Chuck might be the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. Other than my wife of course.

I love this show. Never really watched it when it was on. The title is poor and they moved it around so many times it really never got a following. I only started watching it right before it was cancelled, but have watched all of the episodes since.

Son wanted to watch GI Joe Friday night. Holy god was that terrible. And I used to watch the cartoon every day after school. :moneybag:

Sienna Miller made for a hot Baroness though.
