Its gotten a lot of talk in the movie thread, and I also really enjoyed it despite being hesitant to watching it. It was a lot of fun, and well done. I think even people who dislike Black would like this. Had no clue it was based on a true story.

Ok, but not nearly as good as Pillars for me. (have not read either book)I found some of the church-related stuff rather hamfisted and forced, and the plotting and treachery was fairly predictable after seeing the first miniseries. (still watched them all over the course of 3 nights though).A hundred steps up from Iron Skies or whatever that moon Nazi flick is though.

This was like the highest rated movie for me for a couple weeks according to Netflix so I finally watched it. I enjoyed it, I'd probably go a little lower on the rating though but it was a fun watch. "Mister" was great, the kid was terrible. I thought it was interesting enough as a post-apocalyptic type horror movie though.

Watched The Lorax this weekend. I found it pretty funny, but also way too preachy. It's as if some tree-huggers got a hold of a childrens book and is using it to beat you over the head with thier environmentalist propaganda.I think it's made by the same people as Despicable Me, but wasn't nearly as good.

I saw the first 30 or so minutes of this and decided to save it for a time when I wasn't drunk.I had heard good and bad things, I'm intrigued.Edit: Just finished watching it.Id recommend checking it out. I was a little disappointed when it was over it felt like a bunch of jump scares and not much else but when I was watching it I was legitimately enjoying it.

I watched Bernie last night, and thought it was very good.I'm no film critic or casting director, but I didn't like...Matthew McConaughey as the DA. Everyone else is the film is pretty damn authentic. Then you have McConaughey in what looks like a gray wig.Doesn't ruin the moive, just irked me.
Well, yeah, isnt basically everyone else in the movie besides Shirley McClaine actually from that town?! Makes sense they felt authentic

I think being followed by a camera man was big factor in his success. He seems more trustworthy when he can say he's doing all of this stuff for a movie, and he gets more freebies and better treatment from people when they think they'll get screen time.

Mutant Girls Squad - So over the top with blood and gore I was numb to it 1/2 way through the picture.Started out good and campy but got boring. The girl who had a chainsaw pop out of her rectum was lame as well as the one who had swords pop out of her breasts2 out of 5

The old series from the 60's and 70's? NoThere are really 3 new series. The Eccleston, the Tenant and the Smith Doctors.You can start with either the Eccleston series or the Smith series. There is not much overlap from Tenant to Smith. But there is a lot from Eccleston to Tenant.

So the "ghosts" were actually aliens, right? When the credits rolled, the parts were "Alien kid #1 & #2" etc or something to that effect. The boyfriend/doctor was actually using the arm tracker (alien technology) in experiments on girlfriends that he convinced were crazy I think #5 was good because it turns out the men in the attic were the good guys in trying to exorcise the devil posessed girl, whom the partiers "rescued". Thought that was a pretty good twist
