Sure. I cancelled because this site is absolutely :moneybag: Has seemingly everything, even new TV episodes that aired only a day or 2 prior, and its FREE. YWIA.

I will certainly still check out this thread for recommendations though.
I looked around and this site looks like a streaming site and doesn't use torrents...? If so how do they get by doing this especially with the hbo, showtime, stars content? I guess I'm wondering if my cable company could come back and get me for using this site.
f your cable company. tell 'em to bend over and take it
I hate the cable companies as much as anyone but I would rather have a solid Internet speed rather than dsl slow speeds.

Kenny - so how can I watch this on my tv instead of my pc? Will it appear on my roku?

For those that haven't yet seen it, Butter is certainly worth watching. Funny and might even make you cry.
Good flick. I did notice at the 9:54 to go mark that there is guy in the background that has to be Ramon(?) from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. He just pokes his head around behind the Pickler dude. No idea why I noticed but it has to be him.

I'll check this out at home tonight.

I'd be so awesome if my PS3 could run more forms of streaming video so I don't have to watch on my PC.
Great site. 5 stars for sharing that.

You can also stream a lot of stuff from your PC to your PS3 if you use the PlayOn Media Server.

I love the future!

This may have already been covered in this thread but why doesnt Netflix stream the new releases? Seems like it would be a lot easier for both parties.

It's not up to them. The studios like to make money.
Whats the difference to them if they are mailed dvd's vs streaming?
Streaming on Netflix would completely undercut the on demand market, which I imagine is quite a bit of money.
I guess I dont understand. How does it affect demand whether its streaming or mailed? How does the studio make more on mailed dvd's?

"On demand" not demand. You know, pay per view through your cable or satellite provider?

Why would anyone pay $6 per new release when they could pay Netflix $8 a month for the same library?

This is much, much different than a finite number of customers receiving the DVD in the mail.

No i totally get all that.

I am saying once the movie is "released" on Netflix, why is there a lag time between mailed vs streamed? Why not just stream everything they have?

Netflix has to pay for the streaming rights and studios want too much money from Netflix for popular new releases.

Midway through season 3 of Fringe. Was this show popular and did it have a following? So far it's terrific. Good sci-fi and it rarely leaves you rolling your eyes. Really got good midway through season 2 and has been excellent since. Writing is very strong and often humorous.

Pleasant surprise. Wouldn't think this was a show I would like with it's heavy episodic format. Would say it's 60/40 favoring episodic to serial. The episodic is passable because a lot of it comes into play regarding the overall storyline. Can't get enough of Anna Torv.

Lillyhammer - this is the new Netflix show staring Steven Van Zandt. I watched the first episode. It was interesting enough that I will watch 1 or 2 more and see how it goes.
I've gotten through 5 of the 8. It's decent, but not earthshattering.
Just started watching this and actually enjoying it. It's like a Norwegian Fargo.
Oh wow I found this terrible. Felt very rushed and casting seemed so odd.
I can see how some wouldn't like it. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire season and looking forward to the next one. Did you watch the entire season?
Liked this show a lot.

My wife and I originally tried it because it's a JJ Abrams project. Got very much into it and watched everything they have on Netflix. There are definitely some rough spots in Season 4 and 5, but overall it kept us very entertained. It does become much more serial as you get into the later seasons. And yeah, Torv is great.

Childrens Hospital

funny take on all of the over the top medical drama shows. Stars producer, writer and sometimes director Rob Corddry, Megan Mullally, Lake Bell, Ken Marino, Henry Winkler and others...

Guest roles by many folks including Nick Kroll and Paukl Scheer from The League fame

Same here. They pack in the jokes at a 30 Rock-esque clip.
Also enjoying Inside Amy Schumer.

Cabin in the Woods is now streaming
Definitely worth a watch...not your average horror flick by any means
The average horror flick is at least a little bit scary and thrilling. This is neither. Even when it tried to be funny, it fell flat.0/5
It sounds like you didn't "get it".
Wrong. I have superior taste when it comes to horror and thriller genres. This was pretty low level in it's attempt. But I suppose it's good enough for the masses.

I'm enjoying Hemlock Grove. I really like that Netflix is getting in the game of producing shows. If they continue on this path, who's to say they won't give us the next Battlestar Galactica, West Wing or 24.

I more meant that the entire point of the movie is to spoof horror stereotypes. It's not supposed to be very scary. That's not why it's good.

Interesting. Haven't given this a shot yet because it has been panned by many here.

Going to start wathcing both House of Cards and Hemlock Grove.

On another note I have "Hunger" in my instant que. A horror flick (fangoria stamped)

Anyone give this a spin and if so...how good was it. Looks like it has potential to be pretty nuts.

Whores' Glory

Documentary on brothels in Thailand, Bangladesh and Mexico. Lots of interviews with the ladies, their clients and their bosses. The Thai segment doesn't give off the "women enslaved by their pimp" vibe as the women clock in/out and at least appear to choose their life, but you never really know. Definitely the most upscale of the three countries. The Mexico segment is what I would picture prostitution in most countries: A black market activitiy done in bad areas ignored by the police, populated by desperate or naive people seduced by drugs or a promise out of poverty, then stuck at the mercy of their pimp and/or drugs. Depressing. And the Mexico segment was a reprieve from the horrible middle segment in Bangladesh. Those women lost the "what country you were born in" lottery and are doing what it takes to simply survive. Watching these women fight over clients or else face the wrath of their madams was very disturbing. I'm glad I watched this movie in that I'm glad to have learned something, even if it's some harsh truths. Glad I won't be watchng it again.

I got kinda board with it in the middle but I certainly enjoyed it. Thoroughly enjoyed the design of the monsters.

This really could be a video game you could play over and over, differently each time.

Is it like soft porn? Or do they show nothing at all?

Almost nothing. There is one scene in Mexico in which the prostitute and john allowed cameras to roll, but not XXX. 1-2 minutes out of 120 total. Watch it for other reasons.

I am sure these have been mentioned: Safety not Guaranteed (quirky)
I liked this, but still haven't decided how I feel about the ending
I think several others commented in here about not liking the ending. So, when I watched this weekend, I went into it with that in mind.

Yeah, not sure about the ending either. But, as I thought about it, I really couldn't think of what a good ending would be. I guess I just didn't like how quickly it ended. Up until then, I thought it was a really good movie.

Why does The Secret of Belle Isle have such good ratings? It's just 1.5 hours of a grumpy old man softening up.

Carl's "That was a close one" line was the best of the movie.

Mentioned this in the rental review thread and just noticed it's on Netflix streaming...

Sixty Six

Humorous and touching story of a poor jewish kid in London planning his perfect bar mitzvah...scheduled on the day of the World Cup final. No big deal, though, as England will never get that far . Plans fall apart at every turn and even the country's soccer team doesn't cut him a break as it advances closer to the championship game.

Excellent new English series, The Fall with Gillian Anderson. Only an episode in, but this is what "The Killing" should have been.

And Gillian Anderson

I just started to watch some of Netflix original programming and so far I'm liking what I see.I enjoyed Hemlock Grove. I like how they worked in the whole werewolf, vampire, and frankenstein into the story. I'm looking forward to season 2.I just started watching Lilyhammer and love it so far. The main character cracks me up. I have read that they have started shooting for season 2 and look forward to when that comes out.Next will be House of Cards. The new orginal series looks interesting, "Orange is the New Black". Comes out July 11th. It's based on a true story.
