Gave Hemlock Grove one episode and it sucked. Worst pilot I've seen in a while, actually. I was only expecting some TrueBlood-ish guilty pleasure watching to begin with, but I hated it.

Anybody watched "Charlie Jade"?

South African series from 7-8 years ago. SciFi. About a Private Eye who witnesses an explosion at a secret plant and is transported to a parallel universe.

I am 2 episodes in. It is still a little inconsistent to call it great, but I am enjoying it

PSA: The Avengers is on netflix now.
Watched this last night. Maybe it's cuz I'm getting older and action movies do nothing for me anymore, but I fell asleep several times during this, missed half the movie and didn't feel like I missed anything.

Watching this now. Pretty good although I want to punch Will in the face. When they joke about him having at "fit" mom, they are right. Proof.
He is most certainly annoying and she is very fit  Jay is a one line genius :lmao:
This show is really great.
If you can hunt it down elsewhere, S3E3 is hysterical. And apparently there's a movie too!

Also highly recommend Top of the Lake. It's disturbing, and often times not easy to watch, and it kind of haunts you, but it was incredibly good.

 I'll track it down tonight.

I second the recent nominations of Top of the Lake and The Fall... Very solid police procedurals with excellent female leads (Elisabeth Moss and Gillian Anderson, respectively).

The movie is kind of disappointing. It has its moments but the need to resolve four storylines makes the movie a lot more formulaic than the TV episodes.

Undefeated.

Doesn't really get much better then this. The Chavis/Money "Uncommon" scene. Coach on the field at the end with OC. How it ended for Money.

The inner-city. The meager crowd at the playoff game. Rough.

Had heard about this one for a while. Avoided it because I wasn't keen to see another underdog type sports doc. It's that but so much more.

5/5. A must watch.

S3E3 or E4?

Three was the tall gf one, 4 was the Trip to Warwick

Watched "Touchdown" and "End of Watch" last night.

TD is a simple farm boy football story. Its ok, 2.5/5.

EoW is better than I thought, the Brokeback dude pulled off being a cop. 3.5/5.0

Man there aint **** on Netflix right now. Half my que is not available anymore.

Watched "Noobz" last night. About 4 guys heading to Hollywood to compete in a video game tournament. Had some good laughs. Not a great movie by any means, but it held my interest somewhat. Worth a watch if you're bored.

2/5

I'm liking The Fall. The killer is creepy and seeing him go about his life and his secret life is kinda fascinating. Like, he should be ashamed about his secrets but he can't stop. X-Files chick looking pretty good for her age.

I got half way through Top of the Lake about a month ago but never got around to finishing it. I thought the first half was kind of boring. Does it pick up a lot in the second half?

Definitely. She has a small role in Hannibal, looks great there as well. The Fall is on my list, looking forward to watching it sometime this summer.

Another vote for the Fall. Great drama, the killer is very creepy and Gillian Anderson is hawt. And the character she plays, just doesn't give a f***.

Looking forward to season 2

very underrated and good flick.

Special Forces.

There are some sub-titles, but the movie is a great action flick. Surprised I had never heard of it. As good as any Hollywood type action flick. Really enjoyed it.

This sounds mildly interesting

Netflix adds movie selection service 'Max' today on PS3, created by You Don't Know Jack studio
Netflix will introduce "Max" on PlayStation 3 today, a new interactive way to find movies. Created by Jackbox Games (previously known as Jellyvision), the studio behind kooky game show You Don't Know Jack, the Max app features a similar vibe for anyone who has squared off against Cookie Masterson (who is not the voice of Max).

To access Max, simply find it incorporated within the category sections of the PS3 Netflix browser – it's not a separate program. Once you click on it, you'll play a You Don't Know Jack-lite game. Max will offer up a movie, which you can start watching immediately, add to your queue or receive a 30-second pitch on.

Todd Yellin, vice president of product innovation at Netflix, told us that Max was conceived of in 2007 when Jellyvision and the pair did some testing. The companies re-engaged in 2011 and Max is ready for its debut this week. Netflix will integrate Max into other platforms as time goes on.

Also, no, this does not mean we should expect You Don't Know Jack movie trivia as a direct app within Netflix. We totally asked.

I tried this last night and it didn't find anything good for me.

26. Monsieur Lazhar Year: 2012 Director: Philippe Falardeau Monsieur Lazhar presents various lives with seemingly few similarities forced to deal with tragedy in ways that are remarkably and movingly similar. At a French-Canadian school in Montreal, a teacher has just committed suicide in a classroom, traumatizing her highly impressionable and innocent students. Into her place steps Monsieur Lazhar, an Algerian immigrant who is recovering from an unspeakable personal calamity in his own recent past. Such a meeting of two disparate worlds, especially in a classroom setting, has been played out time and time again in film, often in the most clichéd manner. But Monsieur Lazhar is the exception to the rule. The acting is stellar throughout the film, from the one-named Algerian actor Fellag’s subtle and warm portrayal of the title character, to the cast of precocious children who make up his classroom.—Jonah Flicker
Anyone seen this?
watched it this weekend. i really liked it. It's in French, btw.

Understated, quiet, moving.

Not sure if Amazon Prime discussion belongs here, but really enjoying the show "Suits". Sort of like Good Will Hunting/Wall Street with lawyers. Seasons 1 & 2 streaming. Season 3 starts on USA on 7/15.

Cabin in the Woods is now streaming
Definitely worth a watch...not your average horror flick by any means
The average horror flick is at least a little bit scary and thrilling. This is neither. Even when it tried to be funny, it fell flat.0/5
Wow, you're certainly in the minority on this one.

Currently watching Scream 4. Not really sure why I started it, but the cavalcade of hotties is definitely keeping my attention.

Put me on the side of not liking Cabin in the Woods.

Dopie "twist", if you can call it that. Not really a twist when you know something is going down throughout the movie.
The Fall, however, is the ####. Thanks for that recommendation.

Put me down as a fan of Durham County. One episode in and this is some twisted ####.

The only downside is that the bad guy is almost TOO despicable.

Yeah, that was never the twist. CitW doesn't have a twist and it's not really a horror film it's just a unique, original and creative take on the horror genre.

Cabin in the Woods didn't work for me because the scenes with the campers were more silly then scary. Like they were going through the motions and relying on the Whitford/Jenkins angle to carry the movie. Movie was not scary and had no tension. Was a nice swing and a miss though.

It was good, but I didn't think it was really all that different from every other TV documentary/story about high school football. I still quite enjoyed it though.

Orange is the New Black premiers this week - like Arrested D, a whole season will be posted - got good marks by the radio review guy - same people are behind Weeds

Netflix DVDs cancelled

Netflix streaming cancelled

:bye:
Be sure to keep us updated.
Sure. I cancelled because this site is absolutely :moneybag: Has seemingly everything, even new TV episodes that aired only a day or 2 prior, and its FREE. YWIA.

I will certainly still check out this thread for recommendations though.
I looked around and this site looks like a streaming site and doesn't use torrents...? If so how do they get by doing this especially with the hbo, showtime, stars content? I guess I'm wondering if my cable company could come back and get me for using this site.
All streams, no torrents. I dunno, but I doubt cable companies track things like that. Either way, I use google chrome and there's the incognito viewing option

Kenny - so how can I watch this on my tv instead of my pc? Will it appear on my roku?
I have no clue on how roku's work, but I just watch it on my TV by connecting an HDMI cable from it to my laptop.

Until the ball gets rolling, arent the early scenes with horror movie "potential victims" generally more humorous? I wouldnt necessarily say they were going through the motions, but if you put it that way then its just how your typical horror movie actors are. Was it really supposed to have tension or scares? I thought there were some, but that wasnt what the movie was going for in the first place. As Chaka said, its a unique and creative take on the horror genre.
