ok, I thought I'd try slapping this up to see if anybody's interested.

it'll be a thread where you can either help everybody out by calling out some juicy spot plays for the week, maybe for guys who stream, are in dire need of points, or whatever --- or just to get on record so you can brag next week.

the pro's are welcome, too.

I can't say I've really scrutinized the games, but I'll stick my neck out on a couple to get it started.......

how do you feel about freeney going up against jake long in miami?

jake had a poor game vs atl last week (edit: looks like he might've given up 3 sacks), and he is supposedly having issues w/speed rushers, on top of which I'm not high on miami's pass d, which could very well lead to pennington throwing the ball a lot more than he'd normally like, trying to catch manning.

here's a couple blurbs:

Long's problems were at the root of the Dolphins' failure. Dealing with the fleet Abraham, he looked like a guy chasing Usain Bolt. He didn't react fast enough or adjust cleverly enough. Neither he, his teammates nor his coaches were proactive once it was clear the Falcons were in a rhythm and the Dolphins weren't.

Sep 14 DE Dwight Freeney's performance against Jacksonville impressed Colts owner Jim Irsay. Freeney was credited with just one sack against the Jaguars, but he added two quarterback hurries and was a force all day for the Indianapolis defense.

and I'm flip flopping on this DT spot play --- kelly gregg vs san diego?

I'm not actually in a league that requires the DT, and while sproles might be too quick for him to catch, I believe san diego will be missing a center and guard, which you'd think would help his chances.

come to think of it, if you have a strong negative opinion on a stud we could fold that in, too, as a spot sit.

I grabbed Larry Foote off of free agency, I like his match-up vs. Minnesota, they'll be running all day over Detroit, so Foote should have a good opportunity to pile up his tackle numbers.

I'm not so sure about starting a DT, while Kelly is the Ravens second leading tackler of all-time, it would be best fit if the Chargers avoided Kelly and Ngata altogether if they plan to run the football! Unless Kelly Gregg gets lucky, forces a fumble, recovers one, INT, etc. etc. I don't see his potential this week being any greater then last weeks performance (4 solo, 2 ast).

Just my take, anyone else?
