Just makes me realize how talented Prince was. I mean, that young and performing that way is incredible, but to lay down those tracks from one's head is a different genius altogether.

He really doesn't need to. Team with a good vocalist/lyric writer and you both get co credits as he'll compose the music. It's a Steven Tyler/Joe Perry, David Lee Roth/Eddie Van Halen, Mick Jagger/Keith Richards type of partnership

I agree, Prince was generational, maybe even multi generational. I won't see someone like him in the rest of my life

I get what you're saying, but working off a template is much different than performance, from what I hear and can suss out from people more talented than I.

Regardless, impressive.

Listening to the Purple Rain album right now.

Probably multi-generational. Not too many like him. At all. I certainly haven't seen the Millennials or Gen Z come up with anything like him.

Like Jean Grae would say, though

**** Gen X, we today [dude]

Gotta say, we'd get 100 of these tapes a day, this one sounds like the last one and the one before that, seems unmemorable , just be truthial. Like Heche said, "A hit is a hit and this isn't a hit."

seems unmemorable

Yeah, that album isn't exactly a hit. The production isn't memorable. That's not really why I posted it -- I was trying to post a particular lyric from a particular song. It was a comment about generations, really. Free associating what Grae says about Gen X. Who's coming up that is better than Prince? That was really my point.

I will say with Grae that she's a well-respected emcee and one of the best I can think of from her generation. She'll probably never be a hit, but I don't think that's her raison d'être.

But your point is taken about the song that probably came up from the album. Not otherworldly, no.

Leroy Hoard's in here and he's been quiet. Let's get him to drop his top as this is a stripper thread
Just doing my best not to get this locked. Your music sidebar is helping with that.

Once bought a female co-worker a lap dance on her 25th birthday. Her first time ever in one of those places. One of those 2 hour Friday lunches in the office olden days.

You guys are crazy if you don't watch that video
I honestly have no idea what the hell is happening in this thread anymore but DAMN that kid is awesome. When he transitioned into Metallica I stood up and started :headbang:right at my desk here. Lol

I may have "dated" a stripper for a while post divorce ......... 18 years younger than me, hot and crazy.. that was a lot of fun while it lasted!
