I agree more strategy threads.... My strategy is to score enough points to not get knocked out of the contest. My other strategy is to trade for better players, but not sure how successful strategy 2 will be. I may have to stick to strategy 1.

I really need Marques Colston to pick it up as a guy at work gave me a hard time about picking him (Monday morning QB), so I want to show him he is wrong instead of me being wrong. haha

I am at 131.65 with A Luck -18.95 and V. Brown -12 to play.

Other score is 157.35 with A Luck -18.95 left.

On a side note, I am 5-0 in one of my leagues and scored a total of 1.5 points between Torrey Smith, Jimmy Graham AND Cecil Shorts. I need P. Rivers to score 26 points tonight to stay perfect.

I also need T. Richardson to score 31 points to win in one of my other leagues.

This week, I benched Cam Newton, Vincent Jackson and AJ Green. If anyone wants any fantasy advice, just ask. Do the opposite of what I tell you and you will do very well.
Choc - I see that you are a quick study and are aware of your surroundings at all times. Your parachute in here is right on target.

Anyone know the cut line?

I'm out. Andrew Luck was my last line of defense. I needed a decent game from him. Just missed the cut. Also missed Tony Gonzalez dearly on the bye week. Have fun the rest of you and good luck! :towelwave:

Wow...got by thanks to the Brady to Thompkins last second TD toss. Serious off-week from all my big contributors, namely Graham, Bryant, etc.

Live to see another week and hopefully guys get healthy.

My worst week by far, but I still finished about 30 points ahead of the cut line. So far, my strategy of loading up on mid/low priced receivers has worked out.

Through 6 weeks...

- Brandon Weeden got on the board for the first time for me, scoring 21.60 points (Vick and Romo are my other two). This leaves Dexter McCluster, David Wilson, Graham Gano, and Kai Forbath as the only players who have yet to be used.

- Julius Thomas is the only player who has been used every week, while Reggie Bush only missed the game where he was inactive.

- David Wilson is the first significant injury that my team has suffered, and he happens to be one of the few who never contributed anyway.

- I only have one player on bye in week 7, and one in week 8. I feel like I should be in good shape those weeks. Week 9 I'll be missing Reggie Bush, Knowshon Moreno, Eric Decker, Cecil Shorts (although I doubt he'd be able to play by week 9 anyway), and Julius Thomas. My only hope is that if I'm lucky enough to get to week 9, everyone else will be dealing with similar bye week concerns.

Done at 121.8 :kicksrock:

Done in by terrible RBs and a down week, especially at QB

Well...when Powell outscores your top RB (Richardson) 8.00 to 6.30 or whatever it was, there's not much you can do.

My QBs are Brady and Schaub (ouch). When Brady hits his bye week, hopefully Schaub is back under center. Otherwise...I'll be joining you soon.

Wow...can't believed I survived that garbage week.

QB - Kaepernick showed a little life to count for the first time since week 1. If both Vick and Schaub lose their starting jobs, I'll be without a QB week 9.

RB - Still crap. I can't believe Trent Richardson sucks so bad in Indy. With Wilson out/sucking and Daryl Richardson benched, I need Trent to come alive at some point. Lacy is the only bright spot and that's not saying much.

WR - The foundation of my team and has carried me thus far. Demaryius Thomas has counted every week, but Denarius Moore has been very helpful each of the last two weeks. With Miles Austin healthy again, I have 6 legit options players for big points and flex spots. If I make it through it will be because of my WRs.

TE - Jordan Cameron's decline is a bit troubling, but he still outscored Witten this week. Need Witten to be more consistent because it is just those 2. (Still kicking myself for missing out on Julius)

PK - Kai Forbath finally contributes meaning I have used every single player at least once!! My cheap 3 have been in double digits 4 out of 6 weeks...can't complain here at all.

DEF - Don't know if it has been due to scoring changes or what, but I have never had this kind of production from my defenses. Double digits every week with an average of 14.6 ppw.

My team is in straight survival mode. Need a lot of things to turn around to even have a chance at finishing in the money (primarily QB and RB production), but I'm happy to still be alive.

Well, maybe I'll get put out of my misery this week, because I'm screwed week 8 unless the eagles go back to vick. I can wether not having a qb most weeks, but with forte and Marshall also on bye, I'm screwed without luck.

Survived despite no TE this week thanks to injuries and byes. With Calvin Johnson limited, Keenan Allen has been carrying me the past couple of weeks.

Somewhere around 145, hopefully that inches me thru. Graham and Celek equaled a bag o'pooh but still hoping to squeeze thru. Be interesting to see how many Graham owners make it.

Wow. Just under 190 this week!

I've got short term QB issues though, as I need Schaub to get healthy, keep his job, and play through week 11 until EJ Manuel gets back. Sam Bradford's the only QB I have left!

Thanks for the well wishes :) Just wasn't meant to be this year. The Cowboys choosing the run those TDs in instead of having Romo throw them was the final nail. But I just about universally whiffed on my RBs so I can't complain. Always a blast :)

I'll try to ghost in here a little bit and do the stat updates when I have a chance. Today unfortunately is not one of those days.

Good luck everyone :) Hope one of you guys takes the whole thing :)

Made it after a rough week. I'm hoping with tight ends struggling pretty much across the board, some of them went home as I still feel they're the best value.

Every week I've only had two running backs score. Forte has been one of those every time.

I've had two TEs score every week but this one.

I think I'll go home week 8 as Luck is on bye and Ej is hurt, while my aforementioned consistent running back is on bye. I would of actually made it this week if my QB put up 0, so there's always hope I guess. That hope relies in my trio of Witten, Gonzo, and J Thomas.

AJ Green and D Thomas have scored for me every week. I've had 4 WRs score in one week twice.

Every player has counted at least once.

All right, Vick/Ponder, one of you has one more week to get healthy to cover Rivers' bye.

Down week by Rivers saved by Cal Bear WR power (Desean Jackson, Keenan Allen). Ben Watson sighting.

Used every week:

Demarco Murray

Not used:

Marcedes Lewis

Isaac Redman

Justin Forsett

Mikel Leshoure

Extended injuries:

Shane Vereen

Christian Ponder

Marcedes Lewis

Need Ray Rice to start performing to make it to the final 250. Need Vereen to come back and perform to have a chance at the whole thing.

Still sneaking by somehow. 141 this week. Blackmon really saved me. My QB trio of Vick/Schaub/Romo really hurt this week.

Seems to have been a rough week for a lot of people. I scraped by though, with DeSean Jackson being my highest scorer this week. My RB squad is anemic though. Unless Jacquizz Rodgers or Joique Bell starts putting up consistent numbers, then Forte is my only bright spot at RB and I'm probably doomed in week 8.

God I suck at this.
Week 3: Made the first real cut in ~8350th place. Dollars spent per point:

Week 4: With my RBs, thought I was dead, but ended up with my highest score in 4 weeks and alive in ~7770th place. Dollars spent per point:

(snip - detailed week 4 breakdown)
Week 5: Made the cut by about 20, but really thanks to:

(snip -detailed week 5 breakdown)
Week 6: Rough week for everyone in this contest as indicated by the low cut line. I made it through by about 2 TDs, but thanks to Ridley finally doing something along with Jacoby Jones and Thompkins finding the endzone.

At QB, Wilson scored for the 2nd time all year, 2nd time in two weeks. His running yardage is offsetting mediocre passing days. My QB3 Locker and QB4 Ponder are turning out to be a waste of $15 "best ball insurance". Only Locker has put up a score in week 3 when Wilson's score would have been fine.

Like last week, of my 6 RBs, four put up zeroes this week, due to bye, injury or Christine Michael. Of my two guys who did score, Ridley and MJD put up season highs (especially Ridley, finally cracking double-digits in a big way).

At WR, Welker remains the every week score while WR8 Thompkins puts up the 2nd score. Both flex scores this week come from WRs: WR6 Jones and WR5 Streater. Streater's 7.6 score as FLEX2 shows how rough a week it was as it was the lowest flex score I've had since week 3 started the cuts.

At TE, Witten's 7.2 was the high score. Rough week at the TE spot.

At PK, Crosby's 16.7 gives him back-to-back weeks of the top two scores of the year for me.

At D/ST, Saints remain my 6-time scorer of my 3 defenses at 7 points. Side note: Nice goose egg, Giants. Especially after putting up 1 point last week.

If I survive this week, it's because Vernon, 42 points. single-handedly willed me to survive. Sitting at 125.2 with Wayne (-7.2) going tonight.

My super trio of Spiller / Rice / Wilson is causing serious drag.

With my QBs of Vick/Brees, and RBs of Spiller/Rice/Wilson/Pierce, I don't see how I can survive the next two weeks anyhow.

At the beginning I wasn't sweating week 8 bye at all, figured Spiller/Wilson would be plenty. Woops.
Somehow made it past this week. Going to be rough the next two weeks unless Vick can come back, I'm qbless this week (Brees) and then only have Wilson/Spiller for Week 8 at RB.

Here's hoping for another few monster games from Vernon to carry my team again.

Credit where credit is due....I vilified Newton a week ago for nearly costing me the contest. He shouldered the load this week when pretty much all of my flex players decided to take a vacay. Thanks, Cam.

I've had fairly even scoring so far this year, outside of last week's down outing, but now with mounting injuries to a mid-sized roster I need some of my "risk picks" to start panning(Looking at you, Gronkowski.).

Totally regretting swapping out Gordon and Blackmon on my roster late because I spooked myself with a "they could both get suspended after a bender the same weekend" hypothesis. WRs are doing fine, but I'd be freaking rolling had I stuck by even one of them.

Team Holloway

QB Luck $16 used 3/6 bye 8

QB Bradford $10 used 3/6 bye 11 18.25

RB T. Richardson $27 used 2/6 bye 8 switchd mid-season

RB McCoy $27 used 5/6 bye 12 19.10

RB Forte $26 used 6/6 bye 8 17.10

RB Powell $3 used 4/6 bye 10

RB Dunbar $3 used 0/6 bye 11

WR Fitzgerald $23 used 5/6 bye 9 24.10

WR Andre Johsnon $21 used 4/6 bye 8 15.80

WR Blackmon $11 used 2/6 bye 9 33.00

WR GIvens $10 used 1/6 bye 11

WR Vincent Brown $9 used 1/6 bye 8

WR C. Patterson $8 used 0/6

WR Thompkins $2 used 3/6 bye 10 13.50

TE Witten $23 used 4/6 bye 11

TE Allen $9 used 0/6 OUT IR

TE J. Thomas $2 used 5/6 9 14.20

PK Hartley $4 used 2/6 bye 7

PK Hauschka $3 used 3/6 bye 12

PK Forbath $3 used 1/6 10.50

DST Ravens $4 used 2/6 bye 8

DST Lions $3 used 3/6 bye 9

DST Panthers $3 used 1/6

Two quarterback roster has not produced as well as wanted, but complimenting each other ok thus far. Spent a lot of $$ on running backs and three of the five have produced well. Richardson is greatly underperforming expectations and now has same bye week as Forte, Luck, Andre Johnson and Vincent Brown. Wide receivers have done well, except for Patterson. Tight ends have done well, except for losing Dwayne Allen for the season. PKs and DSTs have all participated, but no really high scoring weeks. If I make it thorough week 7, the week 8 byes will be tough. After that, I still have a few but they are mostly spread out.

Good Luck everyone and keep up the banter

got lucky and survived another week. Vick as part of my 3 headed QB strategy may backfire (should have handcuffed?).

I can honestly say this is my worst contest team with a WR core of Fitz, Hilton, Moore, Givens and Tate, I should be bounced retroactively to week 3.

How about when Richardson scores 6.3, Spiller and Dez each score 8.6, Megatron scores 5.5 and Romo throws up 11.5 (thus outscoring Shaub)?

Out.

Survived this week with a 145.95, but I'll be out soon. No Julio, no Vick or EJ Manuel, and my only other QB is Eli. RBs are down to Charles, Lacy, and Bernard (Wilson hurt). The vaunted TE trio of Graham/Cameron/Julius Thomas has Graham off this week, possibly more. Enjoying the ride while I can, but it won't last much longer. I'll be lucky to get double digits out of 2WR (out of 4 with Julio out) each week, with only Dez and Thompkins as somewhat of a threat. (Givens and DHB are other two).

I'm starting to get worried as well. Miles Austin is a zero (would have grabbed Gordon if I knew we had free passes the first two weeks :( ), David Wilson sucks and Gronk still hasn't played. With Graham on a bye and who knows week 8, if Gronk doesn't play, I am toast. I need both of them come week 9 or hasta la vista. Still alive thanks to Blackmon, but not for much longer unless I get lucky.

Barely survived at 134.95. Weeks 8 and 9 will be crucial with 6 teams on bye weeks. Some teams, especially those with injuries/major busts are going to get destroyed.

None of Graham, Calvin Johnson, or David Wilson counted this week. They may not next week either...just trying to hang on.

Total teams with these players

Well this is the quickest I have bit the dust in years.Made the final 250 the last 3 years kind of got used to that.Oh well fun while it lasted.Good luck to all those remaining have fun.

Was amazed when I found out I was still alive at 135 pts and only 11.5 at QB for Romo, just 22 pts total at WR and a 0 for Graham. Moreno has been a godsend and Mike Tolbert comes through with 18.7. I'm stunned.

I was quite surprised that I survived, too. Got it by 14.6 points. Week 9 will be a very close call, I suspect, but my real trouble spot is week 11, where I'm going to be without Dez and both of the TE's I foolishly chose.

Survived easily but my team seems to score about the same each week so unsure on my upside if I'm lucky enough to make it to the end. This was the first week where Demaryius and Zuerlein didn't count. Only first time use this week was Forbath who Im happy to have back. Like many week 9 will be my challenge as I'll be without Reggie Bush, Hunter, Bell, Demaryius, Floyd, McDonald and Julius Thomas.

I lived for 1 more week, but barely..... I scored 131.65, with a cutoff of 129.1. Wow that is about as close as it gets. I was #6690 this week. OUCH.

The Turk delivered 10 early Christmas gifts, as 10 people tied at the bottom.

Top players this week:

QB: Russell Wilson - 18.95

RB: Roy Helu - 11.7 (You have got to be kidding me). What is going on with Ray Rice and CJ Spiller?

WR: Andre Johnson - 15.8

TE - Julius Thomas - 14.2 (3 of my TEs scored for me this week, which has happened 3 weeks).

K: Kai Forbath finally scored for me with 10.5 (I would have still survived without him, but I do not lile being this close.

DEF: 49ers - 11.

I had 10 players out of 22 score in single digits (one is out for the season David Ausberry).

I need some big numbers next week and know that it does not matter what you did last week, but come on. I need some scores. I have 6 people on a bye in week 8, but only 1 of those counted this week.

My team: http://subscribers.footballguys.com/contest/2013/101083.php

Has anyone looked at the teams with who have multiple injuries such as Julio Jones and EJ Manuel?

Just thinking that there are some teams that will be hurt by these injuries and if they have multiple, they are in big trouble.

I realize that the more players you add in, the less teams there are, but injuries and if you add in under performing players and those will be the teams leaving next.

Here are the stats for Julio Jones and EJ Manuel.
