My team is balanced. I have one more spot available for $4. Give me some of your best options for $4, as long as it's not a PK.

Crabtree's the choice so far.
Hard to answer that without knowing the makeup of your team. If you only have two QBs I like the suggestion of Folk. Thin on RBs I'd take a chance on a couple of the $2 RBs mentioned. I think Fasano can be a good bye week score for the price. Ausberry at TE in Oakland could be a good gamble if healthy. Look at what Myers did last year. Only 2 Ks or 2 DEFs, I'd add one at that position.

My current team

I like this team, but I feel like while it has a good chance to survive for a while, it wouldn't do well in the finals. Not enough firepower. I initially had something very similar to this, but in the end, ended up slimming it down and adding more studs in a few spots.

Still thinkering, but here is what I have so far

QB (2) - $31

RB (5) - $79

WR (6) - $83

TE (4) - $41

K (2) - $6

D (3) - $10

Alright, not tinkering anymore. Going to go small roster this year...got so close to winning last year, that just making it to the playoffs doesn't feel like it'll be enough. To win this thing you have to have firepower at the end, and you have to have your big guys stay healthy. If I get lucky with this roster, I'll feel very good about my chances:

QB: 2@30

RB: 4@92

WR: 6@92

TE: 3@23

PK: 2@6

DEF: 2@7

Someone help me with just 1 decision in this dang contest. Who would you rather have

Hopkins OR Patterson and Hankeron

Someone please make this decision easier for me

I think Hopkins will be more consistent throughout, but you may get bigger individual weeks from Patterson/Hankerson. Depends on what you need more.

I am going with only 4 RBs, three of them studs.

I also have Calvin Johnson and then a bunch of $2-$5 WRs.

Not sure if that's viable, but you have to take risks in this thing.

Silly question:

You can pay for more than one contest entry, right?
See DD's post above: they don't know who you are. If you have two subscriptions and one of them wins, they don't know who had the other one. Of course, if you plan on finishing 1st and 2nd, there might be a problem......

Someone talk me out of this:

QB 2 - $33

RB 4 - $78

WR 7 - $78

TE 3 - $48

PK 2 - $6

TD 2 - $7

Total 20 - $250
Don't do it Iggy!!!!

:)

I'm probably messin' up with mine (which I'll post after the lock-period) but it is what it is.

Changed up this year. I think I've flamed out in week 9 or 10 for 10 straight years it seems.

Main change will be more quality at RB, more quantity at WR, and do the 3x3 PK/DEF thing that is all the rage.

Lineup Requirements under rules state:

QB

2RB

2WR

1TE

1K

1 D

Is that right? I could have sworn I have seen there was an eligible flex this year....

Appreciate an accurate response, Thanks fellas

2 flex spots.

Each week your top QB, top 2 RBs, top 2 WRs, top TE, top 2 flex (either RB, WR or TE), top PK and top Def/ST will count towards your weekly total. You do not have to select who will play. You will receive the maximum score based on your roster.

Why would there be a problem finishing 1st and 2nd?

Thanks brother

2 qb $ 33

4 rb $ 80

6 wr $ 87

3 te $ 32

3 k $ 9

3 d $ 9

21 $ 250

I wanted to spend roughly $82 on both RB and WR, based on giving them 2.5 starting spots a week. I aimed to prioritize big weeks (studs) over a more stable scoring scheme (by committee). If I can use my RBs for the flex, I can spend more for fewer and hopefully guarantee scoring them in RB and 1-2 Flex positions, then lean on the 4 cheaper WRs to fill in the gaps. TE was tough, but I decided to treat them like my QB position. I do not expect my TEs to be used for Flex, but if something good happens, so be it. Ks and Ds I went strictly by SOS. Bye week considerations were made to not have more than 2 of my expected Flex positions to be out.

I think my 3 TE for $32 is going to be pretty popular.
Total crapshoot what ppl will do, but I was expecting most teams to either go Graham or all the really cheap bargains. I wouldn't expect the middle tier TEs to be popular. Then again, maybe your 32 really means 24+6+2... in which case maybe.

Being a creature of habit, it took me forever to figure out that small rosters are the way to go this year. Where I normally load up on 8-10 WRs, this year it's only 5.

QB (2) -- $34 ... solid baseline with expectations of several boom weeks.

RB (3) -- $74 ... all perfectly capable of being top 5 RBs.

WR (5) -- $89 ... three studs, one poised for a monster breakout, and Thompkins.

TE (2) -- $31 ... two very large white dudes.

PK (3) -- $9 ... three top-6 kickers according to Herman, and no overlapping byes.

TD (3) -- $13 ... Seattle, Arizona and Carolina (Ginn with the Wind coming to a theater near you).

FBG may not have a problem with it, but the rest of us will.

You have me rethinking already. Scratch that.

Sidenote: always thought it would be interesting for scores to be handicapped based on total $ spent, giving people more choices on whether to eke out that last dollar or two or to save it and get a couple points every week guaranteed.

I think I'm done, for reals. GL everyone.

Been fiddling with this for far too many days. Almost dialed in.....I think....I hope?

QB: 2@ $31

RB: 6@ $85

WR: 6@ $70

TE: 4@ $45

PK: 3@ $9

TD: 3@ $10

Already thinking I should re-allocate RB and WR. Save me from myself.

Looks like folks are leaning more to small to midsize roosters this year.Of course I'm going in the opposite direction with the largest roster I've ever submitted with 29.I was thinking with the extra flex people would go large.

The first few iterations of mine were like that too....until I decided that most of the 2-3 dollar fliers I was rounding out that larger roster with were pretty much sh#$@.

Decided I'd rather try and upgrade the top end talent and pay closer attention to byes.

And, of course, since I keep checking this thread I wasn't able to stop jacking with my lineup:

QB: 2@ $31

RB: 4@ $79

WR: 7@ $71

TE: 4@ $45

PK: 3@ $9

TD: 3@ $10

Really want to get a 5th runner back on the team, but not liking the sacrifices necessary to pull it off so far.

Ugh, just pulled it all apart and put it back together. Had 23 players, now I have 19 :bag:

Not sure if I'm done tweaking or not.

the 3 def/K (and even QB/TE most years) is the way I always go but I just can't swing it this year.

Changed RB/WR up quite a bit but I like this much better... had too many bye-week issues before. No bye-week issues at all and still got lots of value picks.

QB (2) - $28

RB (5) - $94

WR (7) - $83

TE (3) - $27

K (3) - $9

DEF (3) - $9

23 players
