I made the cut this week! Unfortunately, I was knocked out last week with no QB and D.Bryant on bye. Pittsburgh D finally showed up, but one week too late.

Great contest! This was my first year and am happy to make it to week 11, hopefully I learned something that can help me make it further next year.

Note that FBG has a couple errors in their numbers. The stat corrections for Dez and Romo aren't incorporated, and they've short-changed the NE and HOU defenses by one point each, according to the numbers I'm looking at. Put those changes in and the cut moves to 145.95 (and people with those players move up and down accordingly).

Is there a ranking based on points scored in total or average by week for the remaining 1000 teams?
I have one in Excel but I'm not aware of anything online. What do you want to know?

Top scorer: Entry 106641, 198.73 ppw (first time the leader's average has fallen under 200).

1000th scorer: Entry 107242, 154.50 ppw

Most average scorer: TerryQ, 175.38 ppw (exactly the mean, 499th overall)

Well, one week away from a new record for me. My team has been doing well but the next two week are likely to be around 50/50 for me to survive. Thanksgiving will be extra interesting this year.

** Wow I have 20! 179 score this week.

Two week update since I did not do one last week as it was looking bleak before Cam Newton had a big game and Gano came through to pass the cut line at 156.15 (though I was at 120 with the cutline sitting at 139 or so going into MNF).

This week was a much easier go as Justin Hunter (a new contributor) had a big game and there was a Cordarelle Patterson sighting this week (first time all year) which had me sitting around 160 with the late games to go. Finished with a 186 with big games from Cam, Lacy, Hunter, Graham, and Keenan Allen. Not sure if my team has the fire power to make it into the money but it would be great to keep making the cuts. So on with the stats:

So far 25 out of 29 have played (86.2%).

Newton (9/12) Vick (3/12) Weeden (0/12)

Bush (8/12) D. Williams (5/12) Lacy (8/12) Helu (3/10) J. Bell (1/12) Redman (0/12) Polk (1/12)

Mi. Floyd (7/12) Hopkins (4/12) G. Tate (4/12) Hartline (6/12) Patterson (1/12) Wheaton (0/12) Kerley (2/12) K. Allen (5/12) Thompkins (3/12) J. Hunter (1/12)

Graham (10/12) D. Allen (0/12) Eifert (3/12) J. Thomas (8/12)

Zuerlein (4/12) Forbath (2/12) Gano (6/12)

Browns (4/12) Ravens (8/12)

Flex: RB 6, WR 9, TE 9

Players out for the year (or cut/benched): D. Allen, Weeden, Redman, Vick ($31/$250)

Biggest regret of a pick this year is Weeden (maybe he gets back into the rotation now?)

I have had 26 out of 27 players contribute at some point. Wheaton being the only one not to. Vick and David Wilson are my 2 lost players. So, I still have 25 players. I would just love to make it to the final 250. Never made it this far before.

Some key players on my team and the number of teams there are on below:

Cam Newton 16*

Reggie Bush 285

Eddie Lacy 593

Deangelo Williams 33*

Golden Tate 222

Deandre Hopkins 57

Keenan Allen 44

Michael Floyd 87

Jimmy Graham 310

Julius Thomas 577

Graham Gano 19*

Hopefully these players come up big the rest of the way:

Justin Hunter 13

Tyler Eifert 177

Cordarrelle Patterson 51

*For the sake of individuality, looks like I have now become a Panthers fan the rest of the way...

PPW is 176.47 (but getting hot!)

Is the scoring official now? Says I missed cut by .05 points but it hasn't included the official scoring updates for romo and dez (I believe these were made official before last nights 11:59 pm contest scoring deadline).

27 players started, lost 4 along the way (Ausberry, Allen, Blackmon, and Gibson).

Only guys not used: Stepfan Taylor and Markus Wheaton.

Average team score: 176.60

28th.

Good day if you have Lions - Stafford, Bush, Bell and Mega all having solid days. Bad day I'd you have Packers - only James Jones was serviceable... Going to lose some Lacy owners, I'm sure

Bush/Bell/Megatron owner here. Looks like 72 pts or so in the books. Guess I should throw in 13 pts from Det D which isn't a bad day.

The good - Reggie Bush and Rashad Jennings both have come through for solid games.

The bad - Eddie Lacy, who I usually count on, had a terrible day. Tony Romo only has me 13 points through 3 1/2 quarters.

Overall, an acceptable but not tremendous Sunday. If Romo doesn't throw another touchdown, I'm going to really have to hope for Weeden or Geno to surprise me with a big game.

So I end up 1001 last week because fbg never trued up their scoring to account for the romo and dez Bryant stat adjustment that the nfl made on Monday. There were probably 20-30 (and others who survived who shouldn't have) teams who got knocked out because of this scoring error. Tons of teams right on the threshold with one or both players who got this benefit. I know it's a free contest and you pay for what you get (though theoretically it's priced into subscription) but seems to me there should be better controls in place so it doesn't happen. This isn't the case of the nfl making a really late stat adjustment it happened the day after the game was played. What if this mistake was made in fppc..bet it would get more attention or not happen to begin with.

I doubt my team would have placed but who knows. Fbg needs to clean this up otherwise they could have some very unhappy people if someone is eliminated due to bad data and otherwise would have cashed, etc.

Based on the posted rules you have a legit gripe

All scoring is determined final at 11:59pm on Tuesday regardless if the NFL later changes the data. Preliminary weekly results will be published on Tuesday morning following the completion of all games.
The Romo/Dez change definitely occurred overnight Monday into Tuesday

Posted this before, but had an error in it...

Agreed. For the record, here are the teams that got screwed:

111220, Unbelievobo

109150, Pennystock

101307, Bonfire

105658, BigKahuna

112968, snafu

104759, PrimeTimePimp

108377, nadroj117

102869, Entry 102869

110479, Entry 110479

104626, Entry 104626

108755, bjohn 77

And here are the teams that survived but wouldn't have if the correction had been made:

105088, ASSPIRATES

113700, Entry 113700

111462, MAL2013

109279, Entry 109279

101052, Entry 101052

102615, Entry 102615

108830, Blue70

100188, REALDEALS

101303, CjDOWORK

108201, DanM

113795, Geechie Dan

(This doesn't include adjusting for what appear to be errors in DEF numbers)

I'm unbelievobo. Thanks jdkapow will be referencing for rest of year. Pretty sure I would have made the next cut, Murray, bush, suisham, pack def 4 players that went on Thursday and all 4 solid.

Not sure if these types of discrepancies have been occurring all year and I just now care because it hosed me but either way it's not really acceptable. Unfortunately there really isn't anything posted about dispute resolution or who to contact if you notice scoring errors (but there should be).

Note: I emailed Doug Drinen (Wednesday) who runs the contest for fbg asking why it wasn't corrected and whether it would be but have heard nothing. Hopefully all hosed don't have a gripe (that actually costs them money) a few weeks from now.

I apologize for the delay on this. We were slowed by the holiday, but Joe, David, and I had a long conversation about this and decided that our rules dictate that we retroactively make the change. So jeaton6 and 10 of his colleagues are now back in. Well, I guess they were in all along, but we had erroneously told them that they were out. Similarly, 11 teams who we had earlier listed as having made the cut have been cut. These 11 have our apologies, and have had one year added to their subscriptions as an apology.

The standings now reflect the change.

We are working on a minor amendment to the rules that clarifies the procedure for this kind of situation in the future.

Out last week after Andre's stinker and JT's injury. :(

Did pretty well considering I had David Wilson and had very little depth.

Great job DD as always! One of the reasons I've been with you guys for over a decade!

I'd normally feel pretty good at 156 with Moreno, Bowe, Decker, and McCluster all going now, and Garcon a little later...but with so many big scores so far, I think I'll need 180+ to make the cut.

We'll see though.
