The main problem with taking the ball last is if both teams score a FG then Dallas gets ball last to win it with a FG.

If Dallas scored a TD and XP then GB would be compelled to go for 2 if they scored a TD since the clock would be low and Dallas could win it with a FG.

That is the downfall to taking ball last
