Sunday Ticket '23: YouTube TV signs deal. Stand alone option available (1 Viewer)

Way late to this party because I just dumped cable, and now it's dumb question time.

I'm in NY and what I'm seeing is it's $349 when I ADD that to a $73 base plan that I don't even want? Can that be right? Does it come with some ice to cool down my a-hole?
yes, that is right although you can just buy the NFL. don't have to buy the youtube base plan.
Yep. That's what I have.
You don't watch football on IPTV?
I did, but grew tired of the buffering
Wow, I literally never get buffering. Once in a while a channel freezes but I just switch to a diff channel. I always watch on local network channels and not the channels in the NFL section, they're almost always wonky.
TBH, loving YT’s NFL Sunday Ticket. The multiview is excellent. No buffering evah!

I don't know if this is just a glitch but the last two weekends my Sling DVR - set to record all NFL games - has been recording the local affiliates real time. I don't mean my local affiliate, but every NFL game as it happens, recording a local affiliate CBS & Fox channel.

You can watch live recordings as they are happening. I can back it up and watch from the beginning. I was able to watch the Detroit at Tampa Bay game today (I live in NYC.) Today I was watching the Lions-Panthers game while it recorded on the DVR from channel KMSP - Minneapolis Fox channel.

Looking through the DVR recordings, the Lions versus Packers, Falcons and Panthers games were the WJBK - the Detroit Fox 2 station. Other examples: the 49ers-Browns game was broadcast here. But my DVR picked it up from the Austin, TX station KTBC. The Vikings-Bears game was out of market. I was able to switch from the Lions game during a commercial and watch it - from WITI, a Wisconsin station.

Folks, I essentially have NFL Sunday Ticket without having to pay for it.

We have both Sling Blue and Sling Orange, costs $55. But I split it with my BIL in VA so really it's $27.50 / month.

Anyone else with Sling stumble onto this yet? Is there any way this could just be a glitch for me or my market only?

We like to watch multiple games at once. Our issue is the multi-view has certain options on one TV and others on another (typically the 4 we want to watch are not on the TV we want). Anyone else have this issue?

I split the $400 cost of the ticket with son, we have logins at both houses, we're about 4 hours apart and it ends up about $50 a month each and we get all the games.
Granted, you make it sound like an incredibly good deal

Worse, the Roku TV won't do split screen at all today for some reason and the Android TV only splits with redzone in one pane. Not sure whats up this week. Hoping we can pick tiles by next season.

It took a minute for me to realize what it was only capturing Fox games from local affiliates. Fine by me, I'm an NFC guy, but when the Lions played the Chargers (CBS) I missed seeing it live.

Still, always nice to have options.

Especially when they're free.

I used to have it with DirecTV and each game had it's own channel. My friend has it through YouTubeTV and says he has to wait for one game to end before he can watch another game. Is he doing something wrong, or is that the way it is now?

Kind of hard for me to believe that there are only 1.5 million Sunday ticket subscribers. Directtv had just under 2 million supposedly and that seems like it has a much larger barrier to entry. But most people probably care about their local teams almost exclusively and I’m pretty sure nba league pass and mlb.tv are well under a million subs.

I’m sure willow will develop a new, more profitable business model, whether in this universe or another.

As an out of market fan. I want to be able to subscribe just to my team’s games.

I’d pay $100 for that.
