Not saying that your not correct in your answers.

I personally think the PI call was very weak. heck they could of called Pitt for Def PI for holding him if they called him for the push off. But To me it should have been a NO Call.

The TD was close, Plus I think they would of went for it on 4th down which kinda makes it a non factor.

But you asked what bias and since your a Steelers fan you will see it for the Steelers. But that is what true Football fans do.
I agree that it was a tacky PI call and one that most often would have been overlooked. The thing is this though, Jackson went out of his way to initiate the contact when he did not need to and did so directly in front of the ref on a play that turned out to be a TD. I really don't see how the ref cannot make that call, tacky or not. He did reach out and did push off on the play and it was clear what his intentions on doing so were. Everyone wants to blame the ref for this "tacky" call. I blame Jackson for doing something that was totally unnecessary. He would have easily gotten open w/o putting his hand on the defender and he flat out made a bad decision. As for the TD by Ben. I think it was too close to call. If it had been ruled no TD on the field I would have expected the play to stand as such in review as well. It was really that close. I also think that Pitt goes for it on 4th and an inch and gets it anyway, so it's really a moot point.

Here is to hoping that the 2nd half is actually worth watching unlike the 1st. :wall:

I thought the pilon is in-bounds?  D-Jax's right foot hit the pilon before stepping out.

I've gotta be wrong, though, since no one's talking about that Seattle TD hosing.
It should matter where the balll was in regards to the goalline when he foot went out of bounds, but Emmitt Smith made the foot-swipe famous and they seem to disregard the ball when the feet are in play.
I can see that it should matter where the ball is (even though, as you point out, with Emmitt it didn't matter), but even if it was called right here, shouldn't his 2nd foot hitting the pilon make his foot "in", so the catch should count even if the ball is spotted at the 1 yd line?
Sure, but I don't think his foot hit the foam (from the one replay that I saw).
his foot definitly hit the pilon

It definitely did. The pilon bent over before his foot hit the ground.

You don't know that. It's not like they dominated the line during the game.

D-Jax is ridic!!!!

TOP 5 wr nextyear!!!
Wrong...No Alexander and/or no Hutchinson on the O line...Diff team on offense next year...
Hutchinson will get the franchise tag at worst.
Yeah your prob right. We know Sean won't be getting it again. They can't afford them both I don't think. I don't know their cap situation, but I don't think they can sign em both long term.

On the Ben TD review, it has to be CONCLUSIVE. I heard one analyst say that means if you show it to ten football people, all ten will agree. It might not need to be even that stringent.

It is obvious from the coversation on this board that there is no consensus and therefore the call cannot be overturned.

It's like someone said earlier - if he'd been ruled down, that call would have stood as well.

So it was a bad call on the field  . Either way it was a bad call.

What are the odds that the Rolling Stones actually watch American football?
Pretty high for Keith Richards. He has lived in New York (Connecticut) since the 70's.

Remember folks, the reception rules take precedence over the touchdown rules. Both feet (or one non-foot, non-hand body part) have to touch the ground for it to be a reception. It can't be a touchdown if it's not a reception.

No doubt a bad call on the field. You could tell the ref wasn't sure cause he held his hand up to signal 4th down, then changed his mind. He wasn't sure, and made the wrong call. Hopefully that call doesn't determine the winner.

At least ten football people in this thread saw it and said it wasn't in. :D

And some people feel it was. So?All that matters is what the refs thought.

Yeah, that was ugly for Seattle. They outplayed the Steelers, yet are down 4--if Pitt pulls it together at all, it'll be curtains.
On the other hand, they've been the first team in the playoffs that Pittsburgh hasn't jumped all over right out of the gate. I'm willing to bet that they're frustrated but I'm also willing to bet that they're thinking they can win this game.
The Steelers were losing at halftime to the Bengals in the wild card round.
Thanks, I'd forgotten that.

Yes, Stevens just dropped that pass, but did anyone else notice that he destroyed Porter 1 on 1 on that third down run by Strong?

Porter has been ineffective, but Stevens is dropping key balls. If you want to match them up one on one for game performances Porter is winning by default. I feel badly for Hasselbeck, his receivers look like they are half assing it out there.

Agreed, Hasselbeck might be the best player on the field so far.
