Super Bowl XLIII Game Thread - Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Arizona Cardina (3 Viewers)

Not even going to look at it? OMG!!!!! this has been the worst game in the history of the NFL and an absolute disgrace to the game. i'm embarrassed
Michaels said they looked......but don't let the facts get in the way of your #####ing
There was no time to look. He was assuming they looked because it was ridiculous not to
The guys upstairs are looking at it to deem if it needed to be reviewed... assuming they thought it was right

Dubious. No replay ever happens THAT fast.
:shrug:That was the normal time for a change of possession. Nothing was done, and remember, they have extra camera angles for a Super Bowl to look at, and there's more on the line at the end of this game anyway so if they were reviewing, they'd have taken their time. What a sham.

There was no way they reviewed it that fast. We saw it once and the game was over.

Yeah, great game.

But I must say that was a BS call. Warner's arm was clearly moving forward. Not saying they could have won it on the Hail Mary, but they never even got the chance on that. No way they had time to even review that...

Bad 3 qtrs of football, fun 4th qtr, but still an ugly football game. Tons of stupid penalties and questionable calls and sloppy play overall.

Great finish though

Weird ending for the 2nd straight year (last year the game seemed to end before calling the Giants back on to end it with :01 left).

I thought it was a fumble, but I just got one look at it and not in HD. Surprised it wasn't reviewed.

The penalty would have put them inside the 30. Not really a hail mary.

How does a league whose championship game is the biggest annual television event in the world and that is practically observed as a national holiday in the U.S. do such a poor job officiating the event? Pathetic.

Not even close. I'm sure Pittsburgh fans will pretend that this is alegitimate Superbowl, just like the last gift they received. But any fan of football is embarrassed with the referreeing today.

What a great game!!! The drama was awesome.

Congrats to the Pittsburgh Steelers for winning their sixth Super Bowl title.

Congrats to the Arizona Cardinals for a great season and playing a great Super Bowl.

He said they looked at it upstairs and confirmed. Seems like BS to me, but that is what he said.
I can't say for sure, but I don't think there is any way Michaels gets that information in that timeframe. I think he said it like that is what had to have happened. Either way, it pretty much fit the bill for the way the night was called.

Similar to last year: great 4th quarter following a not so great 1st 3 quarters. Except the refs made too much of an impact on this year's game.

Great 4th quarter. Congrats Steelers fans.

The refs were still horrendous.
yes, they were, but good teams find a way to overcome those bad calls.Arizona did just that and had the lead, but Pittsburgh dug deep and pulled out the win.

Spectacular catch by Holmes (after letting one go through his hands).

May hat is off to the Steelers.

One hell of a game - may have turned out differently if Warner didn't throw that pick to end the half, but shoulda, coulda, woulda...

I still have this sense that the game hasn't ended yet. What a disgrace. This will be discussed ad nauseam in the upcoming week.

They officiate with agenda

Very entertaining game. As a neutral fan, I thoroughly enjoyed it. As far as coulda-woulda-shoulda, I don't believe the Steelers could beat the Cardinals the next three tries, but they won the game...& that's all that counts. Congrats to the 'burgh.

BTW, is the NFL a parity monster or what? LOL. In fact, the best team in either conference (IMO) didn't win a game in the playoffs (TEN & CAR). In the end, I really think this kind of parity is a good thing. It's getting to be a virtual statement that anybody can win the Super Bowl.

Are we going to do this again? Please don't embarass yourself.

Congrats to Pitt fans. Too bad people are going to be calling this an asterisk for years afterward. U would have won anyway.

Exactly. They stood firmly in the way of a great game. Yet another shady victory.

Typical jackass Patriot fan.And you wonder why people were happy that Tom Brady blew his knee out?
If you were, then you are a small-minded jackass
