you predicting that he'll own the man-mountain Leonard Davis?
Well the post did ask for a surprise, so yes, I guess I am predicting that. Of course I have the same guarantee as the TMQ, so there you go.
no need to shrug, i actually like the call. the man-mountain quality actually goes against davis here, as osi is young and has quicks. if the cards decide to help out a tackle, i would imagine it would be ross, matched up with Strahan.

Why are a bunch of you so high on Ben Watson? From what i can see he is 3rd on the Pats depth chart. I dont know any more than that about the situation; so please tell me the secret. Right now im stuck with starting either Putizer or Pollard.

Mainly because of the great reward and little risk. Watson is one of those players that when you see him play, you know that he can be great. All Watson needs is that "big play" that gets him on the map. The play that tells his coaches that they are silly to not utilize him in their offense more often.......plays like Randy McMichael sommersaulting over that defender for a TD in a preseason game in his rookie year. Or remember the play that Jeremy Shockey had, also in the preseason of his rookie year, when he bowled over a Colts DB (I think it was the Colts?!?) and ran down field about 40 yards?

That's the "big play" I'm referring to. Watson just needs to get his big play to put him on the map, where it will be difficult for Belichick not to play him more often.

It's gonna happen too, Watson is HUGE, he has great hands and he can run like a wideout. He'll be there soon, it'll just take some recognition.

B. Watson was a 1st round pick so obviously the Pats were high on him too. He's big, fast, and Brady loves what he brings to the passing game. Because Watson is playing on Thurs. I'm starting Watson over Dallas Cark. I took him very late and think he will be a steal along with A. Bryant.

This should not be a suprise, but seems that it would be...Curtis Martin will rush for over 100 yards and get at least one score on the KC defense. After leading the leage in rushing last year he has gotten no respect in the drafts i have taken place in. So it seems like it would be a suprise to the masses if he continues his streak of 1000 yard seasons, and he will start that will a nice game in week 1. *"MARGINAL GUYS YOU HAVE TO START THAT YOU ARE HOPING DO WELL"Yes, I do have Martin on my team, but im not sure if im going to be starting him over E James and D Davis. So i dont think im being tooo biased.

Thanks Wheelhouse and Cenobite, Do you think Watson has a chance of putting up more stats than D Grahm this year? It sounds like he may have a good week, then not catch a ball for two weeks, then have two good weeks in a row. If thats the way its going to be, i would be better off just sticking with Putizer and Pollard.

I have generally seen him listed 2nd behind Graham. But the thinking for fantasy purposes is that with his speed and agility he is the guy who presents major matchup challenges for defenses and is more likely to do damage in the passing game.

S. Moss. 155 yds and 1 (maybe even 2) TDI just don't think the Bear defense will be able to keep him out of the endzone for the whole game, since they will more than likely be on the field for, well, almost the whole game.

Kevin Curtis. He played well in the last preseason game and could expose the average defense.
Ah, you beat me to it, Wannabee. Curtis might give a pretty good Brandon Stokely impersonation in 2005.

Extremely tough call with your present TEs. D. Graham will be used mainly as a blocking TE. He was non-existent the second half of last year. What has me pumped about Watson is that Brady said he will be huge this year. He has all of the tools. Never heard that talk about Graham. I think Pollard will be solid but his upside is limited by his QB and other targets (WRs). I am surprised that the Broncos have not hyped Putzier since they blocked the Jets from signing him. I would try to work a trade with someone who needs a TE and upgrade your team at another position. Then, I would claim Watson on waivers assuming he is available.

Another vote for Jake D. Awesome preseason, questions surround running game, revenge match, and New Orleans couldn't cover me on a fly pattern..

BTW, I don't have Osi on any of my teams, nor am I a Giants fan. This is a pure judgement call. And the need to account for Strahan, plus Warners propensity to get hammered, comes into play as well.

Hymes, i have a feeling he emerges this season as a solid WR option and alot of people will scramble on the ww to pick him up

Drew Bennett against Pittsburgh. He'll score and catch 100 yards, which is no mean feat...and prove that he is the man in TEN.

J.J. ArringtonWith Manning rusty from the layoff the Cards roll and JJ is the benefactor.125 rushing with 2 TDs and 45 Rec yards.

Since I'm so late to the game...I feel compelled to throw out a name I haven't seen yet.Dennis Northcutt - 6/115 and 1 TD.

I'm seeing a lot of JETS players listed here.I'm agreeing on Baker. I think penny's not quite there yet and they use him as the safety valve. Won't be a world beater but score a TD.

If this thread hangs around long enough... I believe we'll cover EVERY skill position player in the NFL. ;)

I think Jolley has a better chance.

Chester Taylor - vs Indy >100 yrds rushing and a TDLewis is on short leash or pulls up lame and Taylor has another excellent game against the Colts

My official pick for the contest is Eric Parker.Honorable mentions -- Willie Parker, Ben Watson, Tim Rattay, Brandon Lloyd, the Indianapolis defense and the Arizona defense.Super sleeper honorable mention -- Ben Utecht. He may fill the Pollard TE role in the Indy offense.
