Surprise player of the week (1 Viewer)

If this thread hangs around long enough... I believe we'll cover EVERY skill position player in the NFL.

;)
Yeah it will be interesting to see who was accurate with their prognostications.

David Boston
Yeah - there is one that would surprise me if he even played
This is the latest I found...

Dolphins :: WR, DL

WR Boston, DE Bowens Injured

Miami Dolphins.com - [Full Article]

The Falcons beat the Dolphins 20-17 in the final preseason game for both teams. Making matters worse for Miami, three players left the game in the first half with injuries: WR David Boston (neck), DT Kevin Vickerson (left knee) and DE David Bowens (right knee).

C That secondary is kinda shaky right now. I like this call.

Here's my pick...

Ronald Curry - I think this is the perfect situation for Curry to shine. New England DOES NOT want to get burned by Randy Moss and so it's very likely that he'll be watched like a hawk by the safeties, thus leaving other guys open. Jerry Porter is a GTD (game-time decision) but I think, he'll likely play. Curry just might be a go-to target for Collins when he realizes that New England has put all their efforts into stopping Moss. Porter may see some extended looks, but Curry in the slot, going over the middle on 2nd and 7 plays. I could see that being a common play, especially if New England is able to frustrate the Raiders from getting to Moss. It's a risky play, but it makes sense. I'd be more convinced if Curry had a full game in him since his injury, but I'm willing to take a risk.
Has the coaching staff said he was 100%, or at least that he was a definite for Thursday? Also, what percentage of the plays on offence will he be on the field for in your opinion. I'm really trying to find reasons to start him over Colbert and Moss so I have someone to watch on Thursday.

Dunno if it's a "surprise", but FBG has him ranked as RB18 this week, so I'll go for it.Mike Anderson gets 200 all purpose yards (150 rushing, 50 receiving) on 6.0 yards per carry. He adds two TDs (one rushing, one receiving) against a Dolphins Defense that's just bad against the run, and finishes the week as one of the top 3 RBs.

From CBS sportsline 08/27/2005 - Ronald Curry played Friday for the first time since tearing his right Achilles' tendon last December. He made three catches for 24 yards. "It feels real good to be back," he said. "The offense got going a little bit in the first half. I'm trying to pick up where I left off."Not sure about Curry over Colbert or S. Moss, but it looks like he'll be OK to go.

I don't own him on any team, but I say that the forgotten man in NE, David Givens will have a big day tomorrow. I like him for 85 and 1.5 TDs. I think people forget how good he is.

Chris Cooley. He'll score the only TD in a game in which both punters will be hospitalized for exhaustion.

Super snorer, err sleeper, err yeah... that out of the blue guy: WR Brandon Jones, Tennessee.Nope, I don't own him in any leagues. Just think he could be one of those "Week 1 wonders" that is never heard of again.

QB: Tim Rattay -- 200+ yards/2 or more TD'sRB:Parker -- 100+ total yards/TDWR: Brandon Lloyd -- Close to 100 yards/TDTE:Chris Cooley -- 50 yards/TD

So far the early (very early) clubhouse leader IMO is Courtney Anderson, followed by Ben Watson. My rankings so far as surprise player of the week1. Courtney Anderson2. Ben Watson3. Deion Branch4. Troy Brown

I am going with last year's FBG darling Barlow. I see lots of points in that game and the STL defense is not very good against the run, the pass or walking to the locker room.150 all purpose yards 1-2 TDs.I am going to bench Edge this week and start Barlow I am so confident in this choice.

I agree w/ Stephen Jackson being the #1 RB this week in almost all formatsOther sleepers: Santana Moss has a deep TD on play action and Brandon Jacobs has 50 total yds and at least 1 short-yardage TD.-Peck

Chester Taylor. The only chance the Ravens have to win this game is to keep the ball away from Manning. To do that, the need to run the ball effectively. With Jamal Lewis at less than 100 percent, Taylor could end up being the workhorse back Sunday night and if he can receive 15+ carries against the Colts he could blow up with a very productive night.

This isn't going to turn into a "pat myself on the back" thread, is it?
Nah, it should die, but I catch a lot of hell for some of my "predictions" and it does feel good to get one right!

Umenyiora Osi / NYG

3 tackles

2 assists

2.5 sacks

1 FF
Horrible call on my part. Finished tied for 77th among DE/DT with 2 points (actually 1.5 with 1 tackle and 1 assist, buy MFL rounds up).

Frimson Jackson (hope that is right) from Cleveland

Anyone have any info on this guy? Seems I totally missed him
Frisman Jackson has been on a lot of dynasty sleeper lists since he came into the league. Until yesterday he was a preseason and training camp phenom. He has the size and maybe the talent to be pretty good. Crowded situation in CLE though.

Since this is Wheelhouse schtick, should we wait until he starts the week 2 version, or should we put our candidates here?Or has a competitor snagged him?
