Survivor Fantasy leagues (1 Viewer)

So with most fantasy leagues complete this week a few of us are looking at our pick'em and last man standing pools as their "entertainment" for the week. With so many of the playoff spots being locked up yesterday which team are those of you that are left in your survivor pools looking at going with this week?

I based my strategy on going with either SF or NYJ whoever had the most to play for as my pick for the week. Well that didn't work out so well so I need to roll with a backup plan. With any large pool that makes it all the way through the season there is most likely going to be a lot on the line.

Some of my own initial thoughts

Indy, Phi, Pit, bal, atl, and NO all seem pretty good but I wouldn't expect many people (if any) to have them left. Also will assume these teams are gone as they almost exclusively are in my large pool - they could be decent picks. SD, GB, NE (will they start everyone) KC (start everyone?), NYG

Detroit - Seem to be playing out the year as well as anyone - Minnesota has been playing a bit better but they will be on a short week and may have Webb playing. All though I have a feeling Favre wants to play one last game and I am not sure I want to bet against him in that last game. Then again his last game of the season hasn't been too good the last couple of years.

SF - Play Arizona at home but just lost their coach (might be a blessing). They don't know who their QB is. Gore is out for the year. They just got eliminated from the playoffs and may have a let down (if there is such a thing for a 5-10 team). But they are playing Arizona.

Stl - Seattle has been playing awful. Its amazing they have a shot for a playoff spot. St. Louis and Seattle both have a lot to play for so both will be going full blast. St Louis is also on the road and playing in the biggest game of their rookie QB's life which would be questionable. You could also argue Seattle for this game if Hasselbeck is healthy.

WAS - Play at home vs NYG who may be dialing it in. Washington is still going all out (knocking jax out this week) but they are still starting Grossman and no matter how many yards he is putting is still grossman. Unfortunately the Giants still have an outside chance of making the playoffs so one would think they are still going to be playing hard and are clearly the better team.

Jax - Win and get a little help and they get in so they should have some effort. However, the Colts game is at the same time and there is a chance that Indy could build up a lead and jax could dial it in during the second half. They are also on the road and just lost two of the biggest games in the franchise history in back to back weeks. Houston is struggling having just lost Denver.

Oakland, buf, and Mia - If teams like NE, nyj, and KC don't play their starters. But these are road games so very sketchy.

Not a lot of great options for such a big week. So what does everyone else think?

My week 17 plan was the same as yours - SF or NYJ, so I'm at a loss also. I haven't taken a look at any of the games yet to try and figure it out.

As I recall, I was going with SF/NYJ last year also, and at the last minute switched to the Jets. Turns out I would've been OK either way, but 37-0 makes it awfully easy to relax during the game, unlike some of the games this year that have been decided in OT, or a missed FG, or a botched EP.

Good luck to you next week!
