T.O. Voted "Least Wanted" Pro-Bowl Caliber Player (1 Viewer)

Andy Herron

Per ESPN, of the 20 head coaches who responded, 14 voted for Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens, who was the runaway winner. Chad Johnson of the Cincinnati Bengals was a distant second with three votes.

Which Pro Bowl-caliber player would you not want on your roster?

Player Pos. Team Votes

1. Terrell Owens WR Dallas Cowboys 14

2. Chad Johnson WR Cincinnati Bengals 3

3. Randy Moss WR New England Patriots 1

3. Drayton Florence CB Jacksonville Jaguars 1

3. Adam Jones CB Dallas Cowboys 1

This seems rather odd to me. Anybody else?

Seems absolutely ridiculous. He's been a model citizen most of the last three years, hasn't he?

My vote would definitely be for Chad Johnson.

TO being on the list is no surprise, 14 votes to idiot Jones 1 is a shock.

I think if they thought about it a little more they could have found a few Pro Bowlers who dont actually perform at a Pro Bowl level and are just there because of past rep. or media hype.

Owens performs at an All-Pro level consistently.

the real question about this poll is, who's the 1 guy who thought drayton florence was a pro-bowl caliber player?
Either Norv or Wade Phillips. Had to be some one who coached him in the pastI'm guessing TO was the "winner" because of the dissension he caused on 2 teams on his refusal to play for a 3rd. CJ has only done it to 1 team and till this point has kept backing down.

Interesting.I don't think it's shocking, and it's not necessarily an indictment on TO the football player. Coaches are pretty stubborn and have a roadmap to success. Someone like TO, while an All Pro WR, simply isn't a good fit for a lot of teams. It's not like you get him at a discount, as he's (deservedly) got a huge contract. With limited resources, I can understand not wanting to go down that route. In the salary cap and free agency era, I think a lot of other coaches would prefer to spend their money on players that fit their system. That's why you see the same guys following the same coaches over and over again. TO's a stud, but he obviously carries some baggage and has the potential to cause a ton of headaches.

I'm surprised something like this was even passed out to coaches and even more surprised 20 coaches responded.

You just never know when one of these guys will show up on your team and putting something like this out there isn't smart IMO. I never would have thought TO would have been a Dallas Cowboy after what he did years ago and more amazingly I'm glad that he is a Cowboy.

All good points, Chase.I also think it demonstrates the caliber of the Dallas Cowboys as an organization. Just another feather in the cap for the franchise.

When you look at the media and the opinions expressed across the SP, most everybody likes to take a poke at the Pokes for taking on the likes of such players as T.O., Tank Johnson and Adam Jones.

To wit, when you consider the amount of off-season legal matters, among other things, this year across the NFL...I mean, it's nearly EVERY DAY! We don't see any Cowboys in the headlines, do we? (O.K....knock on wood, and "Pacman" aftermath not withstanding)

The thing is, with all eyes on the Cowboys and said players, other teams/players across the country are dominating the police blotters (and crowding the line into Goodell's office).

There's something to be said about that, so I did.

A big "who cares" for me. All he needs is for one team to like him and he's found that. He's locked up in a great situation for a few years to come so while not surprising is absolutely meaningless.
