You're riding the crest! A braver soul than I. I'd have to bench Ringer or Ced Benson to hop onto the Taiwan express. Good luck and I hope it really pays off for you.

"O" / Grant / Ware are not in the same league as Ringer or Ced Benson. :2cents:

Ringer? Is he all of a sudden in the same league as Benson? I'd take my chances with Taiwan (RBBC on a Good running team) over Ringer (RBBC on a Bad running team).

As a DMC owner, would it be wise of me to grab Jones? I already missed out on Bush. I'm holding on steady to Ringer and he is the only player I can cut pickup Jones.

Very thin at rb starting a fat guy who likes to talk about fast cars so if I pickup JOnes, gonna start Jones over him.

ringer and jacobs>>jones i would sayppl are always massively optimistic in these threads about backup rbs. bush carries the load in dmac's absence. jones has value if bush gets hurt and dmac remains out.

I agree that ringer and jacobs > Taiwan. Disagree about TJ having value only if both Bush and DMC are hurt/out. Bush and TJ have different skillsets. They feed off each other like Bradshaw/Jacobs. TJ would have flex value with only DMC being out and Bush healthy.

How good is T Jones at blitz pickups, at blocking?
In pre-season, granted that is a long time ago, he had a couple of UGLY pass blocking plays BUT....BUT BUT BUT...when you watch him run, you just have to put that out of your brain because this kid is pure electricity at times and the speed...ohh the speed...just taunts the opposition...He truly is, to me, the closest thing I have seen to watching Chris Johnson or jamal Charles before they became household names. He just has that vibe of "Man, if he ever gets a chance to start a few weeks"..

What is more important to an NFL team....an electric RB who take it to the house on any given play (Jones), or a RB who is very good and will keep Carson Palmer in one piece (Bush)?

Yeah...I gotta be honest, I see Quizz Rodgers as the better start this week than Taiwan Jones.
Did Quizz Rodgers split 1st team reps with Turner?
No...you guys award points for that? His coach did say he is going to get him more involved, the previous 3DB is now the fullback and they play a terrible team. The goal is to keep to Turner fresh, and this week could offer that type of opportunity late. No, I don't see Quizz as a viable solution week in and week out, but I do see him as a nice potential pickup for this week for guys in a lurch...more so than Taiwan Jones. I have neither and am going up against neither, so I have no reason to get my pompoms out on this one - just an opinion much like yours.

I think some people are getting a bit carried away with Taiwan Jones' value. Bush is going to be the main RB while McFadden is out.

In today's Contra Costa Times, writer Jerry McDonald wrote this:

"Michael Bush knows the drill.

Playing the same position as Darren McFadden requires enough patience to take a back seat to one of the NFL's most explosive running backs but enough talent to take over when injury leads to an inevitable starting assignment.

"It's not the first time I've been down this road," Bush said Thursday after getting most of the reps with the first team as the Raiders prepared for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos. "It's bad Darren got hurt, and I wish he was out there playing with us, but the coach believes in me, and I just have to keep this offense rolling."

McFadden missed practice Thursday and hasn't set foot on the field since suffering a right midfoot sprain Oct. 23 against Kansas City on his second carry.

Bush took over as the lead ball carrier and finished with 99 yards on 17 carries. It's a role he'll likely assume Sunday with the Raiders hoping to get McFadden ready to play against the San Diego Chargers the following Thursday night.

"He's in a tough spot," Raiders coach Hue Jackson said of Bush. "He plays behind one of the best running backs in this league. But Bush is a really, really good player himself.

"It's good when you have two of them in case one can't go, you have one you can lean on."

Another Raiders writer, Steve Corkran, wrote this: "Michael Bush and Taiwan Jones are getting all the reps at running back in anticipating of their filling in for McFadden on Sunday. Bush is expected to make his first start of the season, with Jones getting his most extensive playing time of the year."

Didn't ATL sign a full back last week? I think Snelling is back to being number 2, not quiz.

They signed Mike Cox who is backing up Snelling at FB.

Maybe Taiwan learned something in practice. I feel like he has that vibe and it is only a matter of time before he blows up. The problem in dynasty is that DMC is elite and young. Low ceiling on weeks where DMC is healthy and that could be a multi-year issue.

Im starting TJ over Sproiles in my flex, a clasic what the heck flex, boom or bust....This kid can ball, motorboatttttttttt!!! Will be watching this game very closely, with all eyes on Tebow,DThomas, TJ and also maybe a hint of JThomas....Cant wait!!!

You sounds like perhaps you listen to the audible.

Michael Bush will start and share the running workload with the rookie Taiwan Jones. Bush, who has 60 carries for 237 yards and three touchdowns this season, has been a capable replacement for McFadden in the past. Last season, he rushed for 655 yards and led the team with eight rushing TDs.

Darren McFadden's foot injury will keep him out of Sunday's game against the Broncos. (AP Photo)Jones, who got more reps in practice this week, has touched the ball only seven times in seven games. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him get at least that many touches Sunday. Bush (6-1, 245) is much more physical than Jones (6-0, 195), who relies on speed and elusiveness to be productive.

The Raiders need a reliable running game Sunday so they don’t have to put too much burden on quarterback Carson Palmer, who will be making his first start.

Looking forward, Bush will not be with the Raiders next year. This is why they want to give Taiwan some carries in game situations. They need to know what he can do. If Taiwan pops a big run early, he may end up with the majority of carries and a decent fantasy day. If his first 5 runs are average and the game is close in the 4th quarter, Bush will probably be in the backfield. Boom or bust day for Taiwan.

I'm guessing Jones will get a handful of carries, maybe 5-7. Bush will be the main guy, but I think they need to have a second back involved, and want to see what Jones can do in a real game.

I'm starting him as a flex over Torain in one league where injuries have taken their toll.

I don't see ANY sceanrio where Jones gets a majority of the carries tomorrow.

Barring an injury to Bush I can't see it happening either. Bush should be the guy this week. I'm starting Jones as my RB3 and hoping for 10-15 touches, including some receptions. I think 40 yards rushing and 2-3 receptions for 25+ yards would be a good day.

yes. The Raiders have a power run game - and Jones is a perimeter runner. Bush is the guy that will be doing the heavy lifting inside.

I can think of several sceanrios.

I think anyone who starts Jones thinking he'll outproduce and/or overtake Bush in terms of rushing attempts is proceeding under a faulty assumption. Just my two cents.

Why would you sit Sproles for Taiwan Jones? I don't understand.

He should take one of those 3rd down screen passes to the house this week. Bush will be good for a lot of 3 yard runs into the line...nothing more.

My opinion of Bush is significantly better than just a 3 yard power back.
Can't think of the last RB the Raiders committed to. Bo? I mean it's been a while, probably not that long. They like to use more than one. Even when it looked like it was McFadden-Bush or Fargas had a good game or he got hurt and suddenly it wasn't McFadden's show anymore.I think Bush is a very good talent that will someday succeed elsewhere, don't see it on the Raiders.

I can't sit Sprolea and play TJ....ahh I really want too, I'm just no brave enough!! I've been going back and fourth!! In the end I will play Sproles!!

So Bush has 60 carries for 237 yards..Considering everyone thinks OAK has a great running game, why is he averaging under 4 ypc? Unless OAK is getting blownout, Id be shocked if Bush gets less than 15 carries. That said, if Taiwan's explosiveness is leading to more production, I could see it become a 50/50 split tomorrow. Thats certainly an "if" though.

With Nicks seemingly out and a few guys on bye, Im stuck having to start either Taiwan or Jon Baldwin (or maybe start both and sit Battle, doubt I do that though)...Im actually thinking both Taiwan's floor and ceiling is higher than Baldwin's, but its hard to say given how each has only been on the field a limited amount at this point in the year.

good post. still, despite the meager ypc - Bush figures to get 60-70 percent of the carries because Jones is not built to run between the tackles.

Agree, but the NFL is so unpredictable. I think of the scenario you mention and then I think of how the Bills had Travis Henry with McGahee seemingly stuck...but then it opened up..THen Willis himelf gets ousted for Lynch...who in turn gets jettisoned for CJ Spiller..but then that turns out to be Fred Jackson. POint being, you just never know. If you have a talented player, the guys just always seem to find a way (even guys who moved around like Priest Holmes and Thomas Jones and Ced Ben...and Corey Dillon late in his career). We don't always see the doors that will open but the guys with talent somehow seem to walk through them. Who knows? Maybe the Raiders find out they have 2-3 RBs that can produce and need some of those draft picks back next year and some deal is made...guess I'm just saying I am just happy for the opportunity and don't necessarily see it as Taiwan Jones in Oakland starting somehow...maybe it ends up somewhere else. I just think there is value in this guy.
