That's part of it for me. The other part is that while Allen has been great, Hali has the potential to be even better.Did you delete the original thread? Just curious as to why I'm quoted here without a post, but didn't delete my post. never mind
unless Tick's very concerned about the possibility of a future suspension.Still interested in thoughts on Hali, though. I think I read that one correctly.
I had a possible scenario where I could acquire Allen, and I already own Hali. I was trying to decide which would be better to hang onto, and got to thinking... These guys have pretty similar upside IMO in that they are both young, and have the possiblity to play off of each other for years to come. Allen has the problems with the sauce, so I vote for Hali here, but its a tough one.
"Tamba Hali - Born: 11-3-1983"yeah right. Till someone cuts him in half and counts the rings, I call BS. tongue.gif
Age makes no difference in this comparison. Allen has a motor that is relentless. Allen did this before Hali got there. a better question would be if Allen left, could Hali duplicate 06 numbers, as clearly early on the double teams were in front of Allen, not Hali.
Hali's getting the benefit of playing across from Allen. I think rookie DEs can get a couple of lucky plays and sneak up on people, then regress a bit statistically as people start to pay attention to them. Mark Anderson probably won't get get 12 sacks again this season, for example.
Don't take this to mean that I think Hali's no good - I just see people ranking him above established guys who aren't that old and disagree with it. I recognize that this is something that I might look back on in a couple of years and realize my strategy was off, but in general, I don't go so much for DEs coming off an impressive rookie season across from a true stud.
