Tampa Bay Bucs thread: back to back to back to back NFC South Champs (1 Viewer)

Baker for MVP? I have no connection to TB but love seeing him win after all the BS he's put up with over the years.
I have him at +7500
Could be a thing.
Media loves a comeback story. 15 bucks would pay over 1200.
We play all the big boys so if the numbers and winning continue he could certainly be in the conversation.

I bet it was nice to walk out of there with a W yesterday. Place was loud.

Vea grade 2 MCL sprain. Bowles says he's day to day and wouldn't even rule him out for this week.
Anybody can beat anybody in the NFL (unless you’re the Panthers) but I have to think they want to give him the week off against the Broncos. Long season.
Feels like a trap game. 0-2 team with a rookie QB. Coming off an emotional win. Still pretty banged up. Eagles next week.

Had a couple bad home losses in similar situations last year.

Watched much of the game but got turned off quickly watching Denver march up and down the field

This is a weird game because Sutton had 7/68, that's not a big day, next receiver got 6 catches for 37 yds, hard to pin the loss on the Bucs secondary
Javonte Williams had 5 carries for 12 yds, hello!
McLaughline had just 5 carries for 7 yds...did have a TD plunge but my point was I expected to see big numbers for the Broncos, not really the case
Badie their RB3? 9 for 70 yds, OK that wasn't good and Nix ran for about 40-50 yds but it's not like the Broncos were destroying the Bucs defense

So who lost the game? The offense because they only managed 7 points.
I know I mentioned that White should just slide into the WR3 role, he isn't great running between the Tackles but again the IOL is partly to blame and yet Bucky Irving 9/70
I'd like to see more focus on getting Irving involved
I'm sure pass blocking, blitz pick up has a lot to do with Irving gaining the trust of the coaching staff

It was a bad loss, it's one week, flush it.
Philly next week at home, not gonna be easy but Philly has not looked that good without AJBrown in their line up. Saints should have beat them on Sunday
Pretty difficult schedule ahead of them until they get a Bye week

Who wants to start?

-Foolish to make a quick trade for wide receivers and give up future Draft capital
Bucs are 4-3, could still challenge for the Division but with no Godwin, deep Playoff run not likely IMHO

-White needs to be converted to a WR for the ROS and Irving/Tucker can be the combo at RB, that is my honest assessment on Offense right now
White is a heckuva receiver out of the back field, he can't replace Godwin but he can help take some of he pressure off, Cade Otton is ready for more targets

I would not want to see them part with draft capital right now, they need some more significant pieces to compete for a Super Bowl

Grabbed McMillan on waivers last night in FF, I usually try to stick with NFL talk in the team thread
-It's gonna be rough for a couple weeks
-I believe this new version of Baker will be able to lead them thru a somewhat dark/low point of the season right now
-Bucs Defense has been a disaster, that's not Baker's fault at all IMHO

500 yds passing to Cousins and guess who's back this week...then they give up 41 to Baltimore, the Saints looked like they might win a couple weeks ago
The defense needs a lot of fixing right now

They need to win one of these next three games. Preferably this one on Sunday. vs Atlanta. @KC. vs SF. Mike likely returning after the bye. If they can get into that bye at 5-5 they could make a run. Lose all 3? They'll be way down to the Falcons in the division and outside the playoffs looking in.

If McMillan can hold down the slot they'll be ok on offense. He's better suited for that spot, but obviously didn't get snaps there because of Godwin.

Any word out of Tampa on who will play the Godwin role? I'm thinking it will be Shepard. I like McMillen long tem but heard reports he has not looked good so far, someone on Fantasy Points charting WR data mentioned this.

I think you guys are in trouble. Evans should not have even played that last game.

Likely McMillan. He was hurt earlier in the season but is healthy now.

I think this weekends game will determine the Bucs season. It's hard not to think they are in trouble but if they can somehow manage a win Sunday, they may still be ok to compete for the division. That leaky defense needs to somehow step it up though or it is over.

I’m so tired of Bowles. This is a really good team that is 4-5. Beat the Lions on the road and took the Chiefs to OT on the road and we can’t get around our head coach. What a waste.
They have a coin flips chance to beat the defending back to back currently undefeated champions in Arrowhead and he took the coward’s way out.

Every single person in that stadium and watching on TV knew the Chiefs won the game at that point. Except for him.

And don’t even get me started on the idiotic timeout when Palmer got stopped at the 1. This guy has no clue how to manage a game.

He costs us wins.

Baker and Coen are studs. They’re the only reason we’re even competitive. Showed serious guts only to have it thrown away by the gutless.

Bucs 8-6
Falcons 6-7

-at Dallas, CAR and NO at home to close the season, would appear like the Bucs could potentially win out and finish 11-6.
They've lost twice to Atlanta, they cannot finish w/same record and win the division.

-at LVR tonight, NYG, at Wash, CAR for the Falcons. An upset by Ridder on a revenge mission vs his former team would be welcome. Falcons won't get much fight from NYG, they are going to be picking No 1 or No 2 in the Draft in all likelihood. I can also see Washington relegated to a WC spot and if they are locked in as the last WC team by Week 17, they could possibly start resting certain players and they definitely do no want to expose Daniels to anything unnecessary before they enter the Wildcard round

The Bucs simply need to win their remaining games, Dallas was an underdog this past week vs Carolina and won fairly easily.
Falcons have lost 4 in a row, they're not a good team right now

Washington has the Eagles next week. Even if they win that one they'd still want to get to 11 wins to ensure themselves a playoff spot. If Atlanta wins tonight I don't see how Washington could start resting guys the last two weeks. The Bucs own head to head over Washington.

Best case scenario is winning them all of course and they're currently red hot playing their best ball in December.

This is a really good team that is 4-5.
This is a really good team that is 8-6 and about to win its 4th straight division.
Still got 3 to go and even though they’re out of it all our remaining opponents are still playing hard.

If the Falcons can beat the Commanders and the Bucs drop one they’ll win it.
Hard to imagine the falcons going on the road and beating a commies team that needs that game but @dallas could be tricky I’ll give you that.

About as big as it gets Sunday. Seeing the Saints makes you a touch nervous but they are terrible and Bucs should wipe them out. Hope we get the 3 seed - Washington or Green Bay much preferable to Minnesota or Detroit.

I feel like this team can beat (or lose to) just about anybody though.

3 seed vs Wash or GB at home, I think the Bucs can win those games and also lose those games but they have a lot of Playoff experience Washington would not have, Pack have a little but not as much as the Bucs recently. Can the Bucs advance vs Philly? I think they have a better chance against them as the 2-seed than MN or Detroit, there is a way Bucs can open vs Wash/GB, then travel to Philly and get a little lucky before they would see either MN/DET in the NFCC and there's an outside chance that game could be played in Bucs Stadium IF they were to face the 5-seed in the NFCC

Long ways away but I like to dream, anything is possible when you have a QB that threw for 40 TDs in the regular season plus the Bucs have a nice 2 Back running attack and an OL that is improving each and every week

Bucs cap space next year looks pretty good IMHO, the 3 highest cap hits to the Bucs all have ZERO guaranteed money (Godwin, Vea and Dean) and then you add in Baker's willingness to likely redo his deal and get another year added on, maybe more and the Bucs have a lot going for them right now

That OC-Liam Coen can't leave the building, they need him
He's going to get some calls for interviews.

You don’t want to get too cocky. I’ve seen some awful performances in big games. It’s a Bucs Life.

But, the Saints haven’t scored over 19 points in 6 weeks. They just lost to the Raiders at home. Shut out the week before that. They’re very injured too and have no weapons. Throw out the records though?

My biggest concern is Baker forcing it to Mike and turning it over.

If they win is it odd to kind of want the loser of DET/MN? Feel like whoever that is might be physically and emotionally broken after that SNF game.

I’m not afraid of the Lions at all. A team like MN that forces turnovers and has multiple weapons on offense concerns me more.

Y'all have 4 impressive wins (3 early), which is more than you can say for most 7-loss playoff teams. Baker with career highs across the board.

Good luck in your rivalry game. My honest opinion is you won't beat any NFC North team in the playoffs, but just in case you hadn't noticed, I'm not very good at the impartial observer thing.

What are the Lions’ impressive wins? Pack twice? Vikes? Rams week 1?

Easier to answer when haven't they looked impressive while winning.

Ultimately none of this stuff really matters does it?

Is blowing out the Colts, Titans, and Jaguars more impressive than blowing out the Giants, Raiders, and Chargers. Not really.

The Bucs had a tough stretch without their top 2 WRs. I think the Lions may have struggled against the likes of the Ravens/Chiefs/Healthy 49ers without St. Brown and Williams? Maybe?

Honestly, more Tampa’s defense in those games than anything.

We’ll see. The Bucs should be a little healthier on defense and are hot on offense.

Still have to beat the Saints first.

And there ya go.

Bucs also took KC to overtime on the road which is almost as impressive as anybody’s best win.

Lions are a top-3 team in the league but I’m confident Baker could shred their defense. But, Goff would also rip the Bucs defense apart too.

Bucs safety Jordan Whitehead was involved in a automobile accident today and won't play Sunday.

Statement from the Bucs:

I agree. They have a chance for another ring these next 3 years. Gotta keep Coen and find another pass rusher. Not a ton of holes. Exciting time for sure.
