Tampa DT? (1 Viewer)

With Haye signing in Tennessee, does anyone have any info on the TB DT situation? Will they draft a DT in the first round? What are the prospects like? Any guys currently on the roster besides Hovan who might be able to step up? Tampa seems to be putting a lot of good pieces together this offseason, but I'm worried about the gaping hole in the middle of their DL.

It seems they feel Ryan Sims might fit the "bigger/aggressive" style D they plan on playing this year, which may be why he was resigned over Haye....I'm sure they might like to see to see Jerry from Ole Miss there @ 1.19 (Raji will be long gone) but he's the only DT I could see them giving a look that early in the draft....

They'll need bigger bodies and a little better depth to run Jim Bates' defense. Sims and Hovan are reasonable, but Bates would rather have bigger space-eaters. For IDP purposes, it's going to take a very athletic big body to have consistent value. The change in defensive philosophy all but takes a Tampa DT off the table as a reliable IDP option.

Thanks Jene, I'm more interested in this as a tampa homer than from a fantasy perspective. I'm hoping that they can shore up their run D.
