Tank Johnson suspended 8 games (1 Viewer)

Umm...Tank's issues happened this year...as did PacMans...and Henrys.

Pacman was suspended under a 2006 rule...not this new 2007 rule (and the others probably were as well). I got that from exerpts of the letter the NFLPA sent to the commish in support of pacman's appeal.
Last December, police raided the 300-pound defensive tackle's suburban Chicago home and found six unregistered firearms - a violation of his probation on an earlier gun charge.

That charge stemmed from Johnson's 2005 arrest after a Chicago nightclub valet reported seeing Johnson with a handgun in his SUV. He subsequently pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge.
Per Wikipedia:
In April 2007, following a year in which players' problems off the field were at an all-time high, Goodell announced a new NFL Personal Conduct Policy.
Yes...and your point?Does any of that say what rule Tank was suspended under?

I thought not.

Here you go to support my contention on Pacman.

It says that Jones was disciplined under the 2006 Personal Conduct Policy that “clearly provides that a player will not be disciplined until the player is ‘convicted of or admit(s) to a criminal violation.’”
Pacman has admitted to two criminal violations.

Not necessarily...depends on the pleas. Obviously his lawyers and those of the NFLPA disagree with you on this.Though...that part was not my point to get into what merit or non-merit Pac's case has...but to highlight that the NFLPA is appealing it as if Goodell suspended him under the 2006 policy...and that is entirely possible that this is what was used for Tank and Henry as well...

According to Wiki: As of March 2007, Jones has been arrested five times and questioned by police ten times since he was drafted by the Titans in 2005.

Johnson was arrested in Nov 2005 for the gun charge. He was given probation and 40 hours of community service.

In Feb 2006 he was arrested for aggrivated assault and resisting arrest. The charges were eventually dropped.

Dec 14 of 2006 his house was searched and weapons were found. The Bears suspended him for the next game.

Pretty sure Pacman wins this thug contest.

No doubt he is a thug and hangs around with thugs (many of his incidents are because of who he hangs out with as well). However, there are plenty of thugs in the NFL not getting suspended and thats pretty much the discussion here.

e was on probation at the time after having pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge that resulted after a nightclub valet alerted police about seeing a gun in Johnson’s car.
What a punk. That being said, I agree with the suspension and Johnson's statements make it sound like he might really get his head on straight.

Having read this entire thread now, its as if no one here understands the difference between a felony and a misdemeanor. truly sad.

do any of you know what the actual legal violation was for tanks second arrest. He didn't have a firearms owner ID card. not impropper registration, not stolen guns, not too many guns, none of that. He didn't properly fill out the paperwork required by the state of Illinois when he moved there with his properly registered weapons from his house in AZ. that to me doesn't seem like that big of a deal. Especially in light of C. Henry pointing a loaded weapon at a crowd of people and then a cop, and A. Pacman jones making a stip clup turn in to a shooting gallery.

the reality is Tank Johnson has never been charged in either a felony or a violent crime. Can those two other say the same?
