Has Tavarious benefited from sitting back and watching and the light has finally turned on, making him a sleeper FF QB #2 in 2009?

Or is it a matter of a couple flash in the pan good games and teams not having recent game film to prepare for him. Meaning a return to the one of the worst starting QB's in the league.

If he keeps the starting gig this year, he may not keep up at this pace but if he plays at a decent level do you think the Vikings have him as the starting QB in 2009?

I think they need to bring in a good veteran regardless. They've left themselves with too few options at QB during the Childress regime. The Vikings window is now and they need to take advantage of it. Someone like Garcia, Bulger, or McNabb if he is available.

I still think they go after someone else in the off season. He's going to have to finish real strong in order for them not too, like win a playoff game. Hell I could even see ferotte come back and play this season, az d is terrible.

Too early to tell. If he can actually win a playoff game or two then I think it would be hard to replace him next year. He would not be the first young player who was relegated to the bench after starting and then came back and performed very well. He came into the league from a small school league and so the NFL was a big jump. In the past guys like him would sit the bench for four or five years before having to start. So much of being an NFL QB is making decisions quickly and being on the sideline, having more time to master playbook and to see plays develop and watch how Ferotte responded could not have hurt him.

But, if I were the HC I would still do everything within reason to bring in either McNabb or Garcia. I would think a second or third round pick would get you McNabb and a fourth rounder would get you Garcia. It's worth it.

I have mixed thoughts after seeing yesterday's game. On the one hand, Arizona's D was terrible in both the running game and passing game, so it made for a rather easy day for the Vikings O. On the other hand, the biggest reason T Jack was relegated to the bench was his inability to make the deep throw to keep defenses honest. He had 4 deep throws yesterday that were all right on the money. 3 of them were complete(two for TDs) and one was knocked down by a great defensive play. If he can continue to make throws like that I see no reason why he couldn't continue as Minnesota's starter.
