Tatum Bell vs. The Baltimore Defense (1 Viewer)

This years edition of Tatum Bell looks like a tough SOB who in most cases won't go down without a fight. He should have a MONSTER week next week vs. Oakland....maybe 200 yards? :banned:
and 3 TDs.Then he'll buck the "no hands" label and catch 4 for 45 yards. After that, he'll fly to Korea and disarm Korea.Sorry - I was feeling it.
Did I hear them say during the telecast that Tatum Bell was leading the league in Average Rushing Yards per Game? That would be pretty impressive considering he was 'splitting' carries through the first 2. Bodes well for an impressive season now that he's the man.Really looking forward to seeing what he does against the Raiders next Sunday night.

125 and 2 TDs is my conservatiuve guess for the Oakland gme.

Hoping for similar numbers from LT.

And an easy cruise to a 5-1 record for me, the Broncos, and the Chargers.

No - yards per carry.

Turner is averaging 6.8 ypc with 41 rushes and Bell has 5.1 ypc with 58 rushes

5.1 leads all starters is what i recall them saying.

No - yards per carry.
Thanks for the clarification. I was kind of half-watching, half-computing and must've misheard.

Wow, except for that fumble, Tatum Bell looked impressive. If you have tatum bell in any leagues, consider yourself fortunate, because I could easily see him finishing top 5, and if you had your draft during the mike bell debacle, you got insane value for him. I wish I had him.

Considering M.Bell was the day one of preseason starter and was named the starter during TC, TBell was insane value all the way up until after the last preseason game.I drafted for a friend - after obtaining his consent and after consulting with the league, I gave him MBell as his RB3 in the 6th round. I drafted TBell for my RB3 5 picks later at 6.11 - and this was a live Denver draft.Insane value is an understatement.

I think it was over the last 2 years with a minimum of 300 carries...LJ was 2nd with 4.9 and Alexander was also up there. Nice company.

The league called. They've revoked their consent. :D

The league didn't give consent - i consulted with the league (remember: Denver based live draft) and told them I wanted to give him either MBell or TBell, what did they think. They said, unanimously, MBell.I then took TBell, made my 7th round pick, and called him - I told him I would trade him TBell for MBell straight up if he didn;t like m pick - he said he was OK with it.I am about the most moral FF playher you will find - and I am beyond above board when drafting for a friend. I was MORE surprised TBell lasted 5 picks after I selected MBell.

P.S. - I HOOKED that guy up -I liked his draft better than mine when it was all said and done. His commands were RB in the first and a top-5 WR in the 2nd unless he was at the bottom, in which case RB-RB then WR-WR. Beyond that, get him the Giants' D (huge Giants fan) and a TE early.

I traded him up from 1.12 to 1.06. Got him Portis. Got him Fitz. Got him Dunn, DJax, Shockey a round and a half after Gates, Bulger in the 7th, Favre in the 10th. I did well for him.

That sounds correct - I remember them talking about his smaller sample size, though.

What kind of #'s does Bell end up with if he stays healthy??

300 carries seems like a lot, but easy attainable.

NO Denver RB for awhile has had more then 290 (Portis).

I'll take the over, please. 125 & 2 is the floor for Bell (with 180-200 the ceiling). The OAK-DEN game will get out of hand very quickly and should a running clinic after the first, oh, maybe 10 minutes.

It's even more impressive when you consider the circumstances.1st and 10- Bell for 3

3rd and 7- Bell for 17

1st and 10- Bell for 12

1st and 10- Bell for 5

1st and 10- Bell for 3

2nd and 7- Bell for 11

1st and 10- Bell for 1

2nd and 9- Bell for 2

1st and 10- Bell for 5 (end of the half)

1st and 10- Bell for 5

3rd and 5- Bell for 4

1st and 10- Bell for -1

1st and 10- Bell for 2

2nd and 10- Bell for -1

1st and 10- Bell for 5

2nd and 5- Bell for 2

1st and 10- Bell for 4

3rd and 10- Bell for 12

1st and 5- Bell for 1

That's two carries on third and long... and Bell actually CONVERTED both of them (carrying Ray Lewis for 5 yards on the second one). Only in Denver is 3rd and 10 a running down ;) . Also, a note to Ray Lewis- when you get taken for a ride by Tatum Bell, who is all of 210 pounds, you're officially overrated.
You missed a few impressive runs - italicized above. Anytime your RB gets you half the way on 1st down against the league's number one defense - and any time he runs and converts a first down on downs OTHER THAN third down are extremely impressive. He consistently put his team in a great position to continue drives.

I also italicized the 3rd and 5 run for 4 yards - that is impressive b/c 3rd and 5 against the league's best run defense should be a passing down, and Tatum almost converted it on the ground. The Bronco running game CLEARLY won against the Ravens. Tatum was running downhill all night long and had only 2 of his 19 carries for negative yardage. Extremely impressive job by the Denver OL.

TBell is two tenths of a yard off of the yard-per-game lead. Julius Jones has one more yard than Bell does (both have played 5 games). He definitely doesn't have the ypc title, or even the best ypc among starting RBs. Brian Westbrook is averaging 5.3 per.
That's after last night's game, right? They were talking about Tatum DURING the MNF telecast. Someone cleared up that they were talking YPC over the last two years. The person also said a minimum of 300 carries, Tatum only cracked the 300 carries for his career mark after the Pats' game. Maybe what we all missed was a stupid ESPN stat of "YPC in their first 300 carries for active players" - Tatum is a career 5.2 YPC guy.

Only thing I'm worried about is if the game gets too out of hand and they take out their starters after the 3rd quarter. But Shanahan hates the Raiders so maybe that doesn't happen...

Won't happen.Shannie might run TBell a bit less if the game is 21 points in the FOURTH, but he won't pull the starters before the end of the third - and it is highly unlikely he will pull them until the game has only a few minutes left, regardless of score.3 quarters againsat the Raiders is enough to get Tatum to 125/2.Then again, this is a classic trap game - home again after a big MNF win? Against the hated Raiders. yes, but against the weakest Raiders team in well over a decade. They might be a bit too comfortable and might struggle a bit in O for the first half.(i said MIGHT - just preaching caution in case the Broncos and TBell aren't putting up huge numbers in the 1st half)

I've been saying this since Week 1 but what's impressing me the most about Bell so far is how much power he's running with. That's not something I saw a lot from him in the past, but he's running hard and he's running through people. That late run to the Ravens' 5 was pure power and determination.

Now us Bell owners need to get some TDs from this guy and we'll be real happy. :D

Anyway, the success rate was only 44.4% (not counting the carry to end the half), but those two conversions on third and long were HUGE, and once again it came against a very solid defense that normally gives Denver fits. All in all, a great game by Tatum, and hopefully once Denver gets into the cupcake portion of its schedule Tatum can bring his SR back up.
