TE David Njoku, CLE (2 Viewers)

Njoku seems like a poor man's Kyle Pitts: Long on promise, short on results.

That's my impression anyways.
Other than being one of the best players in fantasy (regardless of position) down the stretch last season.
Bye weeks and injuries are killing me. I got Engram in a trade package and later acquired Njoku who was dropped. Both of these guys being hurt forced me to pick up a third TE but I'm playing the long game.

Would be really nice if he returns this week.
When is Engram coming back?

Probably this week

saw something about him getting an MRI so not looking good - with Watson disaster and his other injuries getting very hard to keep him. Thought he was in for a big year

I think I'm going to target this guy in dynasty. Can stash him on IR and maybe next year they get a real QB. He's had a rough start to the season but hes only 28 and should have a few more good seasons left.

Best case: maybe he comes back end of season this year and could even get a few spot starts or flip him to a TE needy team.

I read the same thing, either Sunday evening or Monday morning. Said that he was getting an MRI for the knee, and even went on to say something like "it's looking like a lost season for Njoku." Sort of strange that we haven't seen anything since. I'm starting to question the validity of that original blurb that I read (I thought it was either here or directly off of MFL).

wouldn't hurt can't see Browns having a worse QB next season than Watson.

That's because people overreact or are prisoners of the moment.

He's practicing today.

We've seen players get MRI's and play the next week. Odunze was one that comes to mind and like I said earlier that they cut a backup TE who had a good game in week 4 was a positive sign.

Right. MRI isn't always a big deal. It was the comments afterwards that led me to think he must have sustained a pretty serious knee injury (I didn't see the game). Glad he's practicing (and glad I didn't overreact and drop him or anything).

I was absolutely concerned and when I went to look at my options to replace him I only felt a lot worse.I just was not ready to assume it was some kind of lost season but was bracing for a potential multi-week absence.

In a season where it feels like inactives, multi-week injuries, or even season-ending ones seem to come from out of nowhere, it's nice to have the opposite happen (where something sounded potentially bad, but might end up being minor).

Correction I'm afraid on him practicing. Saw that report on Rotoworld and he was not listed on the initial report of players expected to be out of practice with an injury.

But he was not seen at practice and we are getting the day to day designation for him and almost everyone else on the team not practicing.

Still beats IR or being told it was a few weeks, but a little less encouraging.

so close to punting my bum replacement TE.....welcome back Mr. Fant

He's questionable and didn't practice today. Not sure what the comments above mean. Will wait to hear more before continuing to waste roster spots on Njoku

iirc, if they don't practice on Friday, they rarely end up playing on Sunday.

so i'd watch to see if he practices tomorrow.

I've been dying at TE of a FFPC TEP league and had to drop drop some money last night on Fant because other then Njoku all I had was a TE was Dulchich, which means I had nothing.

Fant was only thing with a pulse on the wire. The second alternative was Adkins and I debated making him priority 1 because I knew I'd need to make a decision tonight since Fant was playing.

In light of the post I just made where he says he's playing I'm pulling Fant.

I was one of those that did not necessarily think that Winston helps Njoku. He would have been better off with a check-down type. Winston is too much of slinger to support Njoku.

He was fine last week with Winston. He had 7 targets this week which is solid. Winston was a bit erratic today which is expected at times but he's still going to target Njoku.

He is one of the safer floor plays at the TE position there is right now. I'd take 7 targets every week from my TE

It is the TE position and can be all over the map. But I'm with you in that I'll take a TE getting 7 targets each week.

I agree. I've posted that I think he was going to be huge with Watson and I think Winston might be a downgrade for him. I know even last week when Njoku had a good game he was 4th in first read target share, not sure about data from this week.

I really thought their was a chance they would trade him, especially when he sat out practice last Friday when they were facing the team that made a lot of sense to trade for him(Chargers). My guess is they were in talks with teams because Jordan Schultz put out a tweet a few hours ago they were not going to trade him, which only reinforced with me they were fielding offers but likely did not get what they wanted.

In the last 8 weeks, the only time he didn't have at least 7 targets and 5 catches was when I bet on him to get 4 catches vs PIT. He had 5 targets and 1 catch that game.

I'll leave him out of my parlays and let him keep producing.

Anyone seen reports/wild-a## speculation about how long an injury like this is expected to keep him out for? I'm inclined to drop him -- would prefer not to but simply don't have anyone else to spare on my roster. I also feel like hamstring injuries inevitably linger for at least a couple weeks

Browns listed Njoku as questionable, even after 3 missed practices. I don't understand, because it's obvious he isn't going to play. Because of the Browns stupidity, ESPN is now going to list him as questionable and I can't use an IR spot for him and have to drop a good player to pick up a TE. Don't want to do that because my league would pounce. I had to drop Etienne in a pinch last week and he got quickly vultured.

Lets be honest, dropping Etienne shouldn't feel like a bad thing after the season he has had. Enjoy the catharsis!

But I agree, Njoku being listed as Questionable on the apps is frustrating. Wish teams would be more proactive, but I guess its a tactical choice and they have little incentive to declare a player out until the last possible moment.

How are we feel in my about Njoku with DTR now at QB?

Willing to pivot to a Kraft or even something Strange(r)?
Not even sure Njoku is playing yet.
Ok. Let’s say he is, any thoughts there?
If he's healthy he projects for massively high volume.
I hope so but there is no guarantee on volume. Jeudy and Moore are there and Tillman might be back this week. Now DTR is QB - I'm a bit worried about this one, especially coming off injury.
