if im not mistaken just 2 pass throw to him.. 1 short in the firtQ into the endzone and 1 in the 3Q that was high and int by Was .

after TE Shock leave.. the O system not rely any more on TE catching the ball in NYG?

i have him in PPR system in deep league...

drop? wait another week? his pre-season went well?

i'm gonna drop him. i don't see him being a reliable option now that steve smith and sinorice moss are making their way into sets.
Good point. Not a bad idea.I missed most of game but from what little I saw, it sure looked like all he was doing was blocking. Where to find target report?

I never understood the Boss love to start with. He had a nice game at the superbowl, he has a cool sounding name... but just because he replaced Shockey doesn't mean anyone should expect the same type of production. He's likely never going to be more than a mediocre FF option.

God bless Altavista translator, lol.I actually appreciate this thread because an owner and i have a bit of a side bet about how many balls he will catch. I think he has the makings of a good player, but it's a bit early for him. He put on some weight this offseason to help blocking and reports indicate he is a great teammate. I think as the season progresses Eli will be spreading the ball more, unless you all think Plax gets 160 rec this year. Although with Shockey gone, you could expect an uptick. I wouldn't get too nuts with Boss, you should have another option. If not, get one for now.

if he made the redzone catch, you guys would be filled with manlove and patting yourselfs on the back for drafting him. deserves another week before jumping ship, the Giants were having a field day picking on Smoot with Springs out. The fact he wa a redzone target on first down is positive news enough, wait another game

:headbang: Too early to deep fry him, but IMO it was too early to start him with confidence as well.

after one game is a little too early for me to dump anyone. but I'm coming from a dynasty perspective. I have him on my bench to wait and see.

:goodposting: I have never understood this Kevin Boss love either. The guy is not going to be Jeremy Shockey just because he is replacing him. If you drafted Boss as your #1 TE, you might as well look at the WW now; you might be able to snag someone like Randy Mcmichael if you are lucky.

Boss is WW material. Steve Smith will be the guy to take the majority of what they lost with Shockey. This team can run at will and has 3 capable RB's.

I feel sorry for people who kept Boss instead of picking up some of the more attractive options on the waiver wire last week.

I think I'm cutting ties with the Big Boss Man.

I really thought he was a sly late round pick in the rookie/FA draft.

wrong.

Counting last year, the post season, and this year, Boss now has 14 receptions in 19 games played (with no Shockey in about half of them). I'm not sure how many games qualifies as a trend, but one would think we are approaching that number.

Boss is a situational player. I could easily see him "exploding" for something like 5-70 and a TD against a team that gives up the middle of the field. However, with a healthy Jacobs, defenses are loathe to commit their safeties to the outside, which typically means lots of work for Burress, Smith and Toomer, and not so much for Boss. With Gilbride still figuring out how to incorporate Moss and Manningham into the offense, and three solid RBs that all deserve touches, I just don't see Boss ever being roster worthy. Giants have a balanced offense in every sense of the word, and quality FF TE production almost always comes from an unbalanced offense.
