TE Rob Gronkowski (1 Viewer)

I did stash Clay, but the reality is, there's a very narrow window where it's going to make a difference.  Clay only is good for 10-20 yards a week it seems.  So if you're ahead, or behind by more than a couple points, it's probably not gonna matter.
I don't know. E. Ebron riddled the Pats with catches and TDs. I could see Clay doing very well. I'd take 5-50-0.

Biggest bust of the year.  At least with guys like Fournette, you know they're injured so you can put someone in that might not suck.  One touchdown all season for a second or early third round pick. Horrible.

In ppr leagues 7 points won't kill you. 8 targets is good to see. Hopefully teams will stop doubling him constantly now that New England keeps tearing it up with other players.

That's what I was thinking. 2 weeks ago. Hasn't happened.
True, but it's a long season. Kelce and Ertz have been and will continue to be better. But after them I'd still prefer Gronkowski. Even over Kittle. But at a position that can often kill you, Gronk hasn't. He's just been incredibly underwhelming, but still a reliable weekly option at a weak position.

I've been sitting on Doyle, waiting to see what he'd do.  After Indy's bye, I think he's my new starter.

Hopefully Gronk has a big Week 9 so I can move him for more than just pennies on the dollar.

I heard an interview recently (sorry don’t remember who it was) with an ex-Pat player that essentially said Gronk is playing hurt and is suffering from multiple injuries. He made it sound like Gronk this year was struggling to get on the field let alone be productive. This stemmed from a question on whether Gronk had lost a step.

The entire conversation did not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling for his outlook the rest of the way this season.

ETA: I believe it was Ron Nincovich that was the one saying Gronk is more banged up than has been reported.

I was still a believer Gronk could turn this season around until I watched that Monday night game last week.

Brady was obviously trying to feed him but Gronk couldn’t get any separation at all.

If it’s a health issue I wish they’d sit him for a week or two before the bye so he can go into the rest of the season with a shot of being relevant, but the incentive structure of the contract makes me doubt Gronk would let himself miss games unless he just physically can’t do it.

I do think he’s going to perform better with Michel in the lineup keeping the defense honest, but not up to where we all thought he would be.

Is anybody looking to try & trade for Gronk at this point? And, if so, what are you offering??
I offered him up to all the dynasty owners in my league who owned a TE I actually wanted... Offer was Gronk plus a throw in for Kittle and similar offer for other TEs.

Nobody in my dynasty league is touching Gronk... I don't want him tanking my championship run, but I guess there is a chance he return s to form later in the season.

You shouldn't be surprised. No-one will trade a young, good TE for Gronk. His lack of production plus most people think this could be his last year make him a dynasty zero. Best you'll get is a pick.

Haha yeah, didn't suprise me at all.  Would have been suprised if somebody took it.

Herndon in over Gronk ATM. Let that sink in. ?‍♂️
Could actually work out well, but no way I'd do that.

NE is going to need to score TDs this week to win. They'll also need all the firepower they can get so I'd expect all these players with questionable tags to play.

If Gronk is going to score, it's gotta be this week.

Shefter reporting that both Gronk and S. Michel will be checked out pre game but that there is real concern if either can play.

Damnit.

Don't think there are really any other TE options in the NE/GB game to hold onto. J. Hollister? Jeesh.

Also, nothing really in DAL/TN...J. Smith for TN? Who is playing TE for Dallas these days? Think Swaim is banged up.

This sucks. Would have to drop either DJ Moore or M. Trubisky for a backup TE that may score a zero anyway. May just roll with Gronk and cross fingers.

Jarwin or Schultz from Dallas is the question for me. Hollister and Allen from NE are available, but they stink. Would stick with Gronk if I were you.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, there is "concern" about Rob Gronkowski's (questionable, back/ankle) availability for Week 9 against the Packers.

Gronkowski played through his back injury last Monday night but had a setback in practice this week. The Patriots are expected to take his status all the way to game-time. On the wrong side of questionable, Gronkowski can't be trusted in Week 9 lineups. With Jacob Hollister (Hamstring) also questionable, Dwayne Allen is the Patriots' only healthy tight end.

I think it's smart to bench Gronk this week. This bye week killed me and I need to play him for the potential upside.  No one on my wavier strikes me as more than a mid/low TE2. Mark Andrews would be my best bet.

Overall I hope they sit him.  ROS it’s a good indicator for me that he’s this injured, since injuries can heal whereas just getting old and slow has no cure that’ll pass a drug test.

For tonight though kind of a pain as my TE2 is on bye (Doyle).  I pay $10 a transaction so I’m gonna wait this one out.  If Michel sits too it’s basicslly a wash for me as a White owner too as that means White will probably get Gronk’s weekly production on top of his normal numbers.  Also playing a bad team so that helps.

I was offered Kittle for Gronk and a 2nd in dynasty.  I'm leaning towards taking it.
I’d do that all day long.  Even if this season is more about injuries than Gronk just falling off seems likely he is taking longer to heal than he used to as he ages, to the point that it’s a serious issue.

Irritating with this being the late game, just grabbed Jordan Thomas off waivers but probably needing to wait to see if there's any news nearer the time, opponent has everyone apart from Melvin and the Dallas D playing the early slate so I can see if I need upside or not I guess

It's Jarwin, Schultz, or J. Smith for me. I guess would be better than a zero (although they may all put up a zero).

And both DAL and TN D's are great against TEs.

Lol.

picked Rico Gathers up as insurance in one of my Gronk leagues. The other is FFPC, so I can't make a late pickup. I have a bunch of byes. I think I have to just roll with him. Ouch.
