TE Taysom Hill, NO (1 Viewer)

He has 1 target, 1 catch, 2 yards receiving. 21 rushes, 228 yards, 5 rushing TD. 1 pass att/comp, 22 yards passing, 1 passing TD.

How any league allows him to play as a TE is a complete joke!

He is not a TE, could care less what the Saints list him officially.
Any fantasy league that let's him be a TE is a joke league

Plain and simple. He should be listed as a RB

Any league commish that allows him to be a TE is also a joke
Tell everyone you played against Hill without saying you played against Hill :ROFLMAO:

I did not play against Hill. Before the season started said this would be a problem to the Commish and he said to wait and see what happens.
Now he has people complaining about him being a TE, Guy who played him in one league and lost only due to him being listed at TE is livid about
this ********. Has had a tough luck season and just got another loss that should have been a win if the other team played a real TE. Says he is going to quit
the ******** league and not pay lol

There is a big stink in that league now and other leagues are talking about it also.

No I have not played him

Well, the fantasy websites and the NFL depth charts are the ones that "allows" him to be a TE. If someone picked him up to use as a TE (where he's eligible) and I, as a commissioner, didn't allow it I would be over-stepping my role and looking at a huge ****-show. I'd rather bitter Guss from the internet think I'm a joke than act outside of my authority.

Again I did not play him lol Love how people try to read between the lines when they have no idea what they are talking about
You look foolish when you ASSUME

Don’t most commissioners just go with what position the sites place him? I know you can move him to a different position as commissioner, but most go with where the team lists him. I would also say you shouldn’t move him in season if he was picked up as a TE. After the season, fine, if the team reclassifies him and it’s a keeper league. No one was picking him up when he was listed as a QB.

Also would ask where were all the complainers before last week? No one was calling for him to be reclassified before he broke out this week. He scored a TD last week rushing, too, but he had less than 10 fantasy points so no one cared.

I get he lines up as a QB often, wildcat variety mostly. It’s a few plays per game. Saints list him as a TE, but he’s really a gadget player, but that’s not an official listed position in the NFL. When he does line up as a QB, he rarely throws. He threw exactly one pass last week. Even when he started at QB last year he didn’t throw it much. It’s not like last year when some sites (ESPN in particular) arbitrarily moved him to TE when he was actually listed as a QB still mid season, then fixed it after a week. He’s been listed at TE from the start, and when Jameis and Dalton are both healthy he’s not getting snaps or practice reps at QB. We’ll see if that changes going forward when both QBs are healthy. He’s also not going to face Seattle D every week, either.

Sore loser. Shouldn’t play if you can’t handle losing.

I never played fantasy football in sixth grade, but this is how I’d imagine it would’ve gone.

I do and as a general policy I avoid "re-engineering" the way the league host site does things through an additional layer of rules that need to be manually enforced. Manual stuff creates more work sure, but it also invites inconsistency, interpretation and scenarios where you hadn't thought ahead about the repercussions of doing it that way until something you didn't expect happens. That would be a way bigger problem than Taysom's thirty burger.

I'm not seeing 4 TDs per game, but I am seeing a lot more TDs (and now hopefully, more opportunities in general) left on the 2022 bone. I'm surprised more people aren't hyping this situation up. We have a confluence of Taysom stars aligning right now. They may or may not stay in alignment, but oh boy, if they do.

Agree. The Saints have a lot of offensive limitations, so no reason to not keep going to the well.

FBG's 20th ranked TE this week behind John Bates and Zach Gentry. :ponder:
They are more worried about being wrong than being right.
They were wrong last week and I listened to them and lost because of it.

Last week, my buddy needed to replace Knox, so I told him to pick up Hill and start him. Told him that he's got as much upside as anyone, with an outside chance he takes over at QB mid game... and that at the very least he'd have fun following him for the day. I told him I was planning on starting Hill over Waller for the same reasons, and as a Raider fan, he proceeded to talk me in to playing Waller (and I lost because of it). Ugh.

Word on the street is that Pitts should play, but all he has done is put up stank and it is HIGHLY DOUBTFUL that ANYBODY is going to have a "get right game" against the Niners.

I'm going Hill over 'he's the Pitts'

Whats this now? You have teams that havent paid yet?

Soooooo...is this a trend that Hill gets more run now? Or are we expecting zeros this week?
If it’s the latter, there will be a lot of fools on the Hill.
And I'll be one of them. Starting him over WW fodder and 'having him is the Pitts'. I hope he can keep producing as long as I don't have to play against him in another league. It would be nice if he'd actually get receptions.

Pretty funny that he’s listed as a TE, yet two things he doesn’t do is catch passes or block.

Yup, which is why it would be maddening to others to lose to a team having him. haha...........I have Kelce running out in my other redraft so I usually have a pretty good shot at production there if someone starts Hill against me.

To coalesce -

- Dominant playmaking hybrid player at every level football he has played, whenever he has been healthy. Size-Athleticism combo freak of nature

- Previous fantasy powerhouse when he was full-time QB. Not a great NFL QB, but a fantasy powerhouse during that period none-the-less

- Can now be deployed at QB or **TE** in fantasy leagues

- Saints' two current traditional QBs are (much) closer to duds than studs

- Still not past prime athletic age at 32 - does have long injury history, but he looked as fast as ever last weekend

- Saints have been running designed plays for him all year - with increasing utilization that may or may not take hold

- Coming off a 4 TD game

- PPG in three games this season where he was healthy: wk1 (15), wk4 (8), wk5 (38)

= 20 PPG avg when healthy - inadequate sample size, but interesting as one illustration of how he could look going forward

- Did I mention he can be utilized as a TE?

Not saying it's going to happen, but this guy has league-shaking potential if he becomes a consistent key weapon for the Saints. I think the fantasy community kinda slept on his breakout this week. He was available in a lot of leagues and there was some hype, but no shouting from rooftops. Guessing that has a lot to do with Hill busting a couple prior times now. He is what he is - prone to injury and not a traditional QB. If the former strikes or the latter becomes his measuring stick, then he's going to bust again. But if they keep using him creatively and consistently as a hybrid TD scorer from all over, including some behind center, they all win, in particular anyone starting him at fantasy TE ROS. Discount accordingly, fine, but not too much. After the turn of last weekend, middling FAB bids for Tay Hill in all leagues I play in, except of course my own. For that I plan to unleash the fury if it comes, upon my league mates. Get some Taysom.

Plus the pure upside if Dalton goes down mid game. He becomes the QB.

Or if Jameis stays unhealthy and Dalton gets injured or continues to be meh, he becomes a full time QB starter.

Okay so in one league I was able to get him off waivers this week. Did not want anyone using him against me at a minimum. I also have Goedert. For those who might have a viable option but not a stud what are you doing? I think I have to go with Taysom but realize he could be very hit or miss since not expecting any receptions. As stated above though his upside is thru the roof. I am hoping they keep using him creatively.

Anyone else a little annoyed that the #7 fantasy TE on the season so far has one catch for 2 yards? I get it, he’s listed as a TE and already coded in league sites that way. But he is pretty much a unicorn.

This is when my league will really start to raise hell. I think I can get away with using him as long as he’s not starting games at QB.

I’m getting hit or miss from Waller with a middling ceiling. I’m deploying Hill until further notice. I should have started last week but I let my Raider fan friend talk me out of it.

How would you solve for it? He needs to be allowed somewhere. Dude is a legit fantasy weapon. He plays nothing and everything. And kicks *** at all of it.

I am annoyed that I can /only/ play him at TE. He lines up everywhere. He blocks! He runs! He plays qb! Why am I forced into starting him at just one of his many useful positions?
The hate for his listing just reaks of FOMO if you ask me. Everyone knew preseason he could end up getting starts at qb and everyone had the same chance to draft him at te. Now you're complaining because I had the foresight to draft him with my last pick? Come onnnnnnn.
Edit - I actually remember that during the summer in my dynasty league where I signed him to the longest possible contract back when Payton was talking him up as the next Steve Young I got an offer for a 5th rounder for Hill. Rejected it saying he could possibly make starts at qb from the te spot. I planned for this day damnit.

In a world where you own Kamara and have NO tight ends, this guy is the absolute worst person in the universe.
How about a world where you own both Kamara and Taysom?

Welcome to my world. I picked up Hill after week one but I dropped him before I even played him for Frieremuth. With Frieremuth going down last week I was able to snag Hill again. I ain't dropping him unless he gets hurt. Of course I'm not expecting anything close to what happened last week from these 2 but I'll take my chances.

I say expect lesser variants of this past weekend and possibly beyond every so often, if these two talents are given enough chances together. Health always permitting. AK41's case also permitting. Wishing luck on both. Always have a soft spot for the Saints; and to me, AK41 is one of the specials all of football.

Man, I am totally jinxing Taysom by talking him up so much this week. Please, please stay healthy and thrive, Mr. Taysom Hill. You owe it to yourself. And all of us. #Ready

I hate chasing points so much, I'm just really bad at not doing it. So he's in for me. #readytobedisappointed
