TE Taysom Hill, NO (1 Viewer)

NewOrleans.football's Nick Underhill reports Saints coached "realized they were under-utilizing [Taysom] Hill’s unicorn skill set" before Week 11.

Hill saw his most extensive playing time in a month in the team's Week 11 win against the Rams. He rotated snaps with Andy Dalton on the team's first drive and finished the game with nine rushes for 52 yards. He also completed one of three passes for 14 yards against LA. Saints head coach Dennis Allen complimented offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael for getting Hill more involved and keeping the Rams defense off balance. “The plan going in was to get Taysom involved,” Allen said. Hill has only seen fantasy-viable usage when the Saints see plenty of neutral and positive game script. Against the 49ers in Week 12, the Saints aren't likely to play from ahead and have the luxury of deploying an expanded Taysom package.

I just lost worthless Pitts too so I need to find someone. JJ and Hill are available. I have a waiver claim in for JJ right now. Hill just hasn't been the cheat code outside of that one week.

Hill just hasn't been the cheat code outside of that one week.
It was 1 helI of a week though it caused many "experts" to proclaim Hill was a top 5 TE moving forward (IE without that huge week) and cost many a fantasy owners half their FAAB so they couldn't make other important moves like grab actually good players like Jeff WIlson off the waiver wire......signed bitter Taysom Hill owner.

Owning Taysom personified:

I just got Pitts as a throw in for a trade and thought I was off this Hill. One week. One week is all I got and Hill had more points than Pitts on my bench.

Guess I'm just letting it ride.

Fantasy playoffs start immediately after NO's bye. I've been rostering him all season just in case Nawlins decides to re-fire up the THill experiment at QB during that stretch. Long shot but also a complete game breaker if it happens while starting him at TE.
Exactly why I traded for him many weeks ago. Having a QB in my FLEX is money in the bank.

Taysom is like that toxic ex I just can’t quit. With that said I’m back in for the ride in a few leagues. Options were Dulcich/Wire, so similar floors but possibly higher ceiling. As stated previously maybe he get a crack at QB.

QB in my TE spot even nicer.

Lost Ertz so it is slim pickins.

Countdown to Taysom time has to start soon. It has to. Saints two traditional QBs are busted and neither should be considered options for 2023.

I literally played Taysom hill every week from 6-12 and sat him this week for Conklin. Gotta be ****ing kidding me.

Taysom Hill caught 2-of-3 targets for 35 yards and one touchdown in the Saints' Week 13 loss to the Buccaneers, adding ten yards on three carries and 22 yards on one pass attempt.

The dude even runs point on punts - honestly, what isn't Taysom Hill asked to do for this team? Hill scored the only touchdown of the game for the Saints on a 30-yard, busted coverage play half way through the second quarter. It was assumed that Taysom would see additional snaps at tight end with Juwan Johnson ruled out and only Adam Trautman and undrafted rookie Lucas Krull on the roster, which ended up an understatement as Hill was filtered through most of the skill positions on the field, including quarterback, fullback, tight end, and slot wide receiver. The Saints head into their Week 14 bye, where they can think of even more ways to utilize their poster child.

I benched him too after playing him almost every week this year.

Amazing how a TD added to very basic production otherwise makes a TE a top producer at their position for the week. When are FF leagues going to get rid of TE's again?
Basically. With the TD he was 5th TE for the week. Without it, he was 50th.

Per my league scoring system on a ppg basis he is #2 overall, only behind Kelce. Of course a large chunk of that came in week 5.

anyone rolling hill out for the playoffs?

Picked up Goedert and Hill off of free agency last week (NO's bye). I was fearful something would break before Tuesday night waivers this week that they spent the bye working him into the starting QB role or something. I didn't want to fight anyone on waivers if that happened.

But, I'm not playing him... just taking the 'keepaway'. He's a longshot, high-risk, high-reward guy. If I'm projected to lose by 20 or 30, I might plug him in... he's an absolute "I need a miracle to win" wildcard, and I don't want that in my opponent's deck, would rather be in charge of that myself.

Taysom Hill completed 2-of-2 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' Week 15 win over the Falcons, adding seven carries for 30 additional yards.

Hill was not targeted in the passing game. His 68-yard first quarter touchdown strike was New Orleans' longest play of the day and longest pass of the season. Rashid Shaheed got free down the field and Hill displayed just enough arm strength to drop the throw in over Richie Grant. The Falcons were playing from behind the rest of the afternoon. The Saints have been trying to increase Hill's usage over the past month, but it still has not resulted in a reliable floor for those implementing Hill as a tight end scam. He will remain boom/bust for Week 16 vs. Cleveland's shaky defense.

NewOrleans.football's Nick Underhill suggested the Saints could use Taysom Hill extensively in Week 16 against the Browns.

Underhill said the game's frigid temperatures and windy conditions could force both teams into a hugely run-heavy game plan, and with several key offensive contributors missing for New Orleans -- including Chris Olave and Jarvis Landry -- Hill could become a fixture against a weak Cleveland rush defense. Underhill said no Saints coaches "tipped their hand as far as game planning goes – other than to say they’ll have an initial plan and contingency plans based on how strong the wind is and what direction it is blowing." With at least six rushing attempts in three of his past four games, Hill could log double-digit rushing attempts if the Saints avoid the pass at all costs in apocalyptic winter conditions. Such usage would make Hill a top-end tight end fantasy option in Week 16.

Back in for me after I had sworn him off, due to weather and lack of better options. I think I would only start Kelce, Andrews, Hock, Engram, Kittle, Goedert, Schultz over him this week. Still pretty many.

Someone dropped Hill this week, I have a claim in for him and might start him over Andrews if I get him.

So Hill has a higher floor then anyone ?

People forget this guy has dropped gems this year like

1.4 in week 2
4.7 in week 6
1.25 in week 9
0.1 in week 10
3 in week 12

I would say that is a pretty good size floor.

Starting Hill over Knox last week cost me a RTS Championship. Pretty much hated that I picked him up this year all he did we keep me from picking up other players I needed since I had to drop so much FAB on him then he proceeded to score very little week after week. If you take out his 34 point game in which no one started him and go from there he avg 5 PPG before the last 2 weeks in which he still scored less than guys like Knox and Fant who I sat to play him for last week.

Most of his production last week came on a fluke TD pass so he isn't do that this week. So you really have to hope for 15 carries to have a chance to pay it off this week and at least a TD.

Good luck

Was Hill in line to get a ton of snaps out of the backfield that week?
They are going full wildcat this week, as they should.
Not to mention no XPs, all two points conversion attempts if anyone actually scores.

I started him during his 30+ game.

Sure he's a crap shoot, but what TE outside of Kelce isn't?

Currently ranks as our leagues #2 TE, averaging over 9 pts/game.

He's starting for everyone who has him.

I've let other people fall for the fool's gold that is Taysom Hill all season. Watching him follow up a 38 point week with a 4. Then a 10 and an 8 with a 1 and a .1. You can't predict this guy. He's not worth the headache.

Until this week! I picked him up in both of my semis. I'm hopping on the bandwagon for exactly one week. He will be the first player I drop next week to pick up someone I want for the championship game. Then my opponent will pick him up, he'll score 3.2 in week 17, and I'll win it all!

Edit: to give people an idea of where I rank Hill, in one league I'm starting him over Goedert (although I might put Goedert back in and bench Diontae instead). And in the other league, I'll either bench Juju or Mike Williams for him.

Right I’m with this. Unique week in terms of expected utilization.

I started him too that week. He won me the week and bought me a week 15 bye.

So do we have any confirmation Hill is going to be QB today with a full wildcat package? I've heard lots of rumblings but nothing firm.

Considering him over Njoku (storm) and Fant (split work with dissly) but can't handle a whiff.

scanning the innerwebs, it seems to be mostly speculatory based on cold and windy weather. will increase my dfs exposure a bit...but I'm not seeing anything suggesting he's a lock.
