TE Taysom Hill, NO (3 Viewers)

Anyone know how banged up Hill is?

Considering dropping him. Doesn't seem like the new O coordinator is that big on T. Hill.

However, NO has a juicy matchup against that PHI run D that looked horrid last night. In one league where Hill is TE eligible and I"m hit with injuries, I'm tempted.
His latest update says he checked out fine. I have no idea what that means for his week 3 status, because I have no idea what a chest injury that sends you to the local hospital entails… unless it was just for some testing.

Hard to keep starting him, but know as soon as I drop him he will blow up.

I could put a claim in for Hunter Henry or Gesicki tonight, but would have to drop hill. I may just ride it out till Sunday and grab free agent fodder/dart throw if he doesn’t go.

Exactly the same thing im.doing

In the TE wasteland, he is a guaranteed 3-4 points with a MONSTER ceiling, im gonna keep rolling him out there

And it appears the Saints have an offense you want pieces of this year, with a much bigger pie to chomp from than recent years past.

Right, but it seems like there are more mouths eating that pie. Think NO's offense was so crappy last year they had to use Hill more. Maybe now they don't.

I would completely wildly guess, with no actual information or insight, just spitballin, he bruised or cracked a rib and went to the hospital to confirm no lung puncture. I assume since he's been released from the hospital that he avoided a lung injury, and further speculate he can play with a flak jacket this week. Again, that is mostly made up.

In another week or two when he hits the wire, pick him up. he'll blow up for 2-3 weeks and you'll be able to trade him for a really good TE. It's like groound hog day...happens every year.

Questionable to play, and still sitting in my starting TE slot because I missed on Hunter Henry via waivers.

lol. That’s how bad the TE spot is this year.

The pickings are slim, but I guess role with someone like Goedert if Hill can’t go.

This guy is such a tease. He can catch, run, and pass and somehow all he seems to do is......none of those things.
I’m a sucker for him. Am every year because I always want to catch his blowup game…because riding that high feels so good.

I started him week 1 and 2, and then had to hit the waiver wire heap last week last minute when he got ruled out.

And who was sitting there, but none other than Dallas Goedert.

So, I’d like to say thank you Taysom for gifting me that Goedert game.

Tight ends have been disappointing this year. And Taysom Hill is a part of that list. But he’s cleared to play in a game where Kamara and Olave are both questionable.

He was dropped in a ton of leagues after his Week 2 injury and makes for a solid streamer in Week 4.

Everyone knows Taysom Hill only holds value if you can roster him as a TE. If he is a QB in your league, he is about as useful as this year's Zach Wilson. So, let's talk about him being TE-eligible, because that's the ONLY reason he deserves discussion.

In non-PPR leagues, he is excellent
2023 - 692 combined rushing/receiving yards and 6 TD's = 105.2 fantasy points - this alone puts him at TE10, but when you add in his 83 yards passing and another TD, he finished TE7
2022 - 652 combined rushing/receiving yards and 9 TD's = 119.2 fantasy points - this alone puts him at TE5, but when you add in his 240 yards passing and 2 more TD's, he finished TE3
2021 - 426 combined rushing/receiving yards and 5 TD's = 72.6 fantasy points - this alone puts him at TE22, but when you add in his 978 yards passing and 4 more TD's, he finished TE5
2020 - 555 combined rushing/receiving yards and 9 TD's = 109.5 fantasy points - this alone puts him at TE6, but when you add in his 928 yards passing and 4 more TD's, he finished TE3

In PPR leagues, he is still very good. With single digit catches in 2020 and 2022, he still finished TE7 and TE9 in full PPR. You say he doesn't catch, run, or pass, but you are forgetting one very important stat, and that's TD's. Guess how many TE's have 40 TD's over the last 4 years? Only Taysom Hill.

Sure, he's much better in best ball leagues, but I remember Chad Ochocinco being known as a boom/bust player as well, and he had 5 straight WR1 seasons.

He’s played two games. Everyone is just waiting for the boom.

It’s the circular cycle of Taysom Hill.

You just got to hope you start him at the right time.

Which is actually easier to eat the low scoring games in this year’s tight end landscape.

I have Shultz who has done less. Might be worth the upside.

Depends on league rules. He is a TE in my league. If he starts rushing/receiving/throwing for TDs...he's good.

I wonder if the new OC is going to use Hill as a (TE) cheat code as much as previous Saints OCs.

Are you watching today?

Injured in the game, for a different injury. And no updates since.

As a Goedert/Hock owner I need a 1 week fill-in. But it’s odd to me we’ve heard nothing.

Would love to see him play this week with Carr hobbled.

Could be a sneaky play if Carr is out.

Getting sick and tired of Kincaid. If NO is going with some rookie backup and Hill is healthy, have to think the gameplan will involve Hill quite a bit. One TD and Hill outproduces Kincaid.

Carr is "doubtful" but that's only so they can designate him as the emergency QB.

Cannot imagine starting any Saints player besides Kamara rn, though.

@FBG Moderator @Joe Bryant - would it make more sense to list him as a TE or OW (offensive weapon) in the thread title?

In my MFL league where we use 'Team QB" he can be listed as "none of the above". They removed his name from the TE list, which led me to believe he would be included as one of the Saints qbs. But no, his stats don't show up as part of that either. So much like Spock stuck in that transporter beam, all his stats drift off to somewhere in hyperspace, never to be seen again.

I should have known. There's a much better chance Hill is Scottish than Vulcan.

I wonder if Hill is a sneaky start for those desperate this week.

NO has quietly gotten a bit healthy. Olave back. A couple of O Lineman back.

Rattler with another week of practice.

Gotta think this is a week Hill is going to have several packages in the gameplan.

Still not convinced the LAC D is legit. Have played creampuffs.

You could be right. Saints are getting healthier. Disagree about the defense and I don’t think how they do against Rattler will alter either of our views.

Just thinking about where the two teams are at, Saints have been dropping like a rock for 5 weeks. That can be tough to turn around. Chargers are on a knife edge, could go either way. Win this week and you’re in for a competitive year. Lose and you might be collecting draft picks on Tuesday.

Thinking about the men who lead them, I mean…come on. Saints fans can’t wait until they finally pull the plug.

Hill is 34….IDK, closer to the end than the peak.

Is Hill worth a pickup with Kittle on bye? Options are slim on WW: Kincaid, Kmet, Hill

ETA: I saw Goedert was dropped due to injury/inactive status. I'll have to look into him if he's eligible to play

I'd say yes.

Facing the CAR D that is just getting destroyed. K. Miller and J. Johnson are banged up. D. Carr could be back.

Could see a lot of Taysom time in this game if it gets out of hand. May want to ease Carr in too and limit dropbacks and just pound.

Mike Clay
With Kendre Miller and Jamaal Williams out, an expanded role for Taysom Hill seems likely. He's operated as this team's No. 2 RB in the past and very well could this week in an A+ matchup against the Panthers.

Michael Fabiano
With virtually every Saints running back behind Alvin Kamara injured , Taysom Hill is looking like a nice start at “TE.”

Tempted to start Taysom over Njoku, particularly because my opponent has Kamara. How sweet it would be to have my TE snipe his RB’s TDs. Feels like getting too cute though in what projects to be a tight shootout. A move like that could cost me big.
