TE Theo Johnson, NYG (3 Viewers)

Theo makes more sense to me than Waller. Both losing starting WR's - you can argue but Malik a WAY bigger piece of the offense than Hill. Dart will lean more on the TE as a rookie passer than Tua - who still has Waddle.

Theo Johnson caught 6-of-7 targets for 33 yards and two touchdowns in a Week 5 loss to the Saints.

Johnson figured to step into a larger role without Malik Nabers (knee) and certainly did that, catching touchdowns on both of the Giants’ first two drives of the game. Even if fellow tight end Daniel Bellinger was more involved in the offense early on, Johnson was clearly Jaxson Dart’s top target when the Giants got into the red zone. Johnson was also peppered with targets late in the game in garbage time. Since the Giants figure to be in garbage time often, Johnson is a solid TE2 option the rest of the way.

Someone had to step up with Nabers out for the year.

Where’s the love?
I thought going into this past week he was more of a shark move than Slayton. I posted that in the comments on several podcasts. The problem is, is he just a red zone guy? I think he has the potential for so much more.
I expect his role to keep growing, but 7 targets overall is pretty big.
I have high hopes for him the remainder of the year. More so than I do any of his WRs since Nabers went down.

Same here .. Also helps that Theo’s one of his best friends on the team. Maybe, we can get the TEMU version of Mahomes to Kelce ..

What's the prognosis for Theo with Winston at QB? I need tp p/u a TE this week to cover for Warren. Musgrave, Fanin, Otton, Ertz, Taylor and Engram also available.

Per AI:

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and former New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston has a notable tendency to throw to tight ends, and at one point in his career, he was even regarded as one of the most efficient quarterbacks when targeting the position.

I would be going with Otten out of that group. With the pass catchers being Egbuka and Tez only Otten will be utilized quite a bit....just like last game (9 reception on 12 targets)
