Actually the offense is better when he’s not involved this much. Murray isn’t using his WR’s near enough and settling for the safe passes to McBride, who gets tackled right away.

4 years 76m. Paying attention Dallas? Extend early is usually the way, good for McBride and ARI. I realize he is now the top paid TE, but he is in his prime and that price will only go up after another good year from him. Locking a young core piece in early was a smart move on ARI part.

Rather have the consistency of targets versus relying on TDs. A slight positive regression of TDs is a bonus.

Guaranteed 12 points at tight end is a huge advantage and worth a 3rd or 4th round pick.

I take that back three tight ends. I forgot about Kittle because he got hurt.

Bowers is clearly still dealing with that injury. You can see he doesn't run routes nearly as crisp or sudden. Hopefully it doesn't linger but it is part of the reason why he has been so average.

Bowers is probably the one people should have known better on. Of the 10 best rookie TE seasons of all-time, there's not a single one that matched it (or really even came close) in year 2.

For all of the other 9, their rookie year was the best season of their career. Then you have Pete Carroll walking in to the exact same situation he had when Jimmy Graham went to Seattle on top of that. It should have been (and probably was) obvious.
