TE with greater dynasty value - Owen Daniels vs. Tony Scheffler (1 Viewer)

This should probably be a poll, but I've got messed up browser settings here at work that don't appear to allow me to do this. I'd probably screw it up anyway, though.

Owen Daniels -

Size - 6'3" 247

Career stats:

2006 season 34 receptions, 352 yards, 5 TD's.

2007 season 35 receptions, 427 yards, 0 TD's.

QB -When healthy, Shaub has looked to be a very capable QB who has developed a good relationship with Daniels.

WR - He has a very talented WR in Andre Johnson on the team, which should allow him to exploit gaps in coverage.

TE - There isn't another TE on the roster who poses a threat to take away looks.

Daniels was a legitimate redzone threat last season, but has yet to find the endzone this season. He has, however, eclipsed his receptions and yardage totals of last year already this season.

Tony Scheffler -

Size - 6'5" 250

Career Stats:

2006 season: 18 receptions, 286 yards, 4 TD's.

2007 season: 10 receptions, 115 yards, 2 TD's. (after missing or not doing anything in 4 games this season)

QB - Has a great relationship with Cutler on and off the field and Cutler often looks to Scheffler as an outlet receiver if a play breaks down.

WR - Has 2 very good WR's in Javon Walker and Brandon Marshall to compete with for targets, not to mention Brandon Stokely working from the slot. Arguably this frees Scheffler up, but it also means that there is much more competition for balls.

TE - The Broncos signed Daniel Graham to a large contract and indicated that they want Graham to block and receive, although Scheffler is being used more now that he is healthy and on the field.

Appears to be injury prone so far in his career.

The Broncos have a history of passing in the redzone, especially to FB's and TE's, so this could boost Scheffler's value as well.

What say you?

because Kubiak was the Bronco OC for so long, you could say that both teams have an identical history of TE usage; a history that includes Shannon Sharpe.

I prefer Scheffler myself, no real reason. It's a toss up.

I just like the chemistry Cutler & Scheffler have had since day 1. :lmao:

I agree. I like Scheffler because I think he has more upside as a playmaker and will get into the endzone more often.I could see Daniels with more receptions and Scheffler with more TDs.

I prefer Scheffler between the two.

Drafted Daniels and have been frustrated by the lack of endzone action and seeming decrease in production lately.

I picked up Scheffler before the MNF game and held on to Daniels just in case. After the MNF game (and OD's near-complete disappearance in the offense) dropped Daniels to open a spot for Grant. (edit- can't spell!)

I like Daniels..

Kubiak has shown a history of involving the TE in his offenses..I know Denver is a TE heaven, but, I'm not convinced that a TE will surface out of Denver and wind up in a Pro Bowl, any time soon..I think one of the biggest myths around FF, is that the Denver TE is a must-have player, that he's a producing entity for any fantasy football team. BS..they thought they had their man with Putzier, only to trade him away..They thought Desmond Clark was their guy, and Byron Chamberlain, Sheffler, Carswell, Hape, Stephen Alexander...on and on the list goes...

not one of these guys panned out in a Denver uniform, and because of that, I'm not going to include Sheffler or ANY Denver TE, unless/until he catches 65+ balls and 6-8 TD's..

come on , people, TScheffler has a whopping 10 catches for 115 yards and 3 tds, in the 6 games he's played so far in 2007..so, the guy can't stay healthy, and cant catch, apparently..at this rate he will have about 22 TOTAL catches, for some 200 yards and maybe 5 tds..

Your problem is with the past not the present. Not only that, but your logic isn't reality-based, and you show a troubling lack of knowledge about Denver's usage of Scheffler this season.Surely, you're not this deluded and uninformed all of the time... :hot:

huh ?It's his 2nd year, and he has sustained one injury. He has played very well before and after the injury.

Scheffler has a lot more pure talent and upside than Daniels. I think some forget how raw Scheffler was when he came into the league. His upside is limitless in my opinion.

I have both of them on my roster, and Daniels is now dead to me.He is allergic to the end zone, which drives me crazy. Scheff is Cutler's best friend and they have a great rapport.

My favorite part is how he doesn't get in the endzone all year, then he gets hurt last week, and his replacement comes in and immediately catches a touchdown. Pretty maddening . . .
