Eagles activated TE Zach Ertz off the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Ertz spent the last five days away from the team. The return to practice puts him on track to play in Monday night's game with the Cowboys. Ertz has taken a backset to Dallas Goedert to open the year, catching 3-of-4 targets for 40 yards through two games. The Eagles may scale back Ertz's role after missing most of the practice week, but his presence cuts into Goedert's snaps and targets.

Zach Ertz (COVID) is active for Week 3 against the Cowboys Monday night.
Ertz spent five days on the COVID list before being activated Saturday. He's ready to roll, filling his role next to Dallas Goedert in the Eagles' TE committee. Inactive for the Eagles are QB Gardner Minshew, S Rodney McLeod, LT Jordan Mailata, LB Davion Taylor, and OG Jack Anderson.

Zach Ertz caught 4-of-7 targets for 53 yards and one touchdown in the Eagles' Week 3 loss to the Cowboys.
Ertz came into this one with a 3-40-0 line on four targets, so this was a nice bounce-back game for the veteran tight end, whose seven targets were second on the team. Ertz's touchdown was a three-yarder out of the flat on a pick play in the third quarter. With Ertz and Dallas Goedert splitting reps, neither is anything more than a TE2 ahead of a Week 4 date with the Chiefs.

Zach Ertz caught 6-of-8 targets for 60 yards in Week 5 against the Chiefs.
Ertz out-targeted Dallas Goedert (5) and was the Eagles' second leading receiver behind DeVonta Smith. He would have had a bigger game if not for a touchdown being called back. Ertz has rebounded from a slow start but is still stuck in the lesser half of a committee with Goedert. The contract-year tight end could be shopped ahead of this month's trade deadline.
Can he get fantasy points for 2 teams in a week?
Cardinals acquired TE Zach Ertz from the Eagles in exchange for CB Tay Gowan and a 2022 fifth-round pick.
ESPN's Adam Schefter said the Cardinals acquired the veteran tight end "with the idea of making him a regular featured part of its offense and Ertz has told others in the past the Arizona appealed to him." This ends an excruciatingly awkward months-long dalliance between the Eagles and several teams interested in Ertz, 30. The move should be a boon for fantasy managers who drafted Dallas Goedert and those who have since rostered Ertz, who had a touchdown on four receptions Thursday night against Tampa with Goedert (COVID-19) sidelined. The Kliff Kingsbury-era Cardinals haven't typically used the tight end in its passing game, though Maxx Williams drew 16 targets from Kyler Murray between Week 2 and Week 4 this season. Williams suffered a season-ending knee injury last week against the 49ers -- an injury that likely led to Arizona's acquisition of Ertz.

Not very high I would think - Cardinals aren't hurting for pass catchers.Where does this rank Ertz going forward?
Maxx was averaging 5-60 in the 3 games before the injury. Ertz could be a good RZ target. Not very high I would think - Cardinals aren't hurting for pass catchers.
We can only hope!Maxx was averaging 5-60 in the 3 games before the injury. Ertz could be a good RZ target.

Is he eligible to play again this week?
Way to quash dreams, buddy.
Smart move.Making a move for Ertz to double down on points this week![]()
One problem I didn't think of is Ertz will be playing both of the games in the same time zone. Don't think the league will allow a player to double up in one time zone.Smart move.![]()
I mean, even before I knew about the CBA, it was pretty obvious he wouldn't be playing Sunday, for many reasons. But it is kind of ironic that, every week, two full teams play with just one extra day of rest than Ertz would have if he played this Sunday.SoBeDad said:>>I believe this covers it. Ertz will not be playing Sunday, per the 2020 CBA, pg 204. If the Cardinals played Monday, maybe? But they don't and he won't...
NFLPA would never allow it. One player does it, others could be asked to. The union is there to protect players.
Apparently, there is a 1 game per week rule, but I am yet to find it.<<

Not to mention they get paid by pro-rated game checks. Imagine if he got 18 regular season game checks and others got only 17....there would be an uproar by the other members of the NFLPA...I mean, even before I knew about the CBA, it was pretty obvious he wouldn't be playing Sunday, for many reasons. I mean, I suppose the answer is that this is what was collectively bargained. The fact that there are weekly TNF games is objectively ridiculous, but if that's what the players agreed to then we can't really say it was "unfair".Not to mention they get paid by pro-rated game checks. i think that there have been players who have played 17 games in a 16 game season due to bye weeks. Not to mention they get paid by pro-rated game checks. Imagine if he got 18 regular season game checks and others got only 17....there would be an uproar by the other members of the NFLPA...
Yes there have been 8 players in past seasons that had 16 games who played 17. Jerry Rice being one of those.i think that there have been players who have played 17 games in a 16 game season due to bye weeks.
0-0-0What's everyone projecting Ertz at Sunday?
Thinking 4/30 with a 30% chance of a TD?
That Browns D hasn't been kind to opposing TE's, but I'm pretty sure Murray will want to show off his new toy.

More upside. Better team, better QB and the only game in town at TE. Take a look at Maxx Williams stats before he got injured. It wasn’t bad. I’m thinking Ertz is better than Maxx. But, there will be some real small weeks due to the nature of the offense and the multitude of weapons.Looking for a read of the room here. Do you expect Ertz's fantasy production to rise or fall from what we've seen from him in Philly so far this year? He has escaped a limiting timeshare only to arrive at a destination that has many other mouths to feed and underutilizes the TE. More upside or downside gong forward?
Running with Ertz & SF Ross Dwelly in a TE premium PPRWell I am skeptical that he will be anything like a target hog in Arizona. Special packages here and there but even with the byepocalypse going on I'm not sure I can put him in there.
I'd probably do the sameRunning with Ertz & SF Ross Dwelly in a TE premium PPR
Option is Gio, Josh Gordon or Agholor so the Extra PPR bonus makes it strong consideration
I think you're probably right, and I hope so. Because I would love to see the "he is washed up" narrative die a sudden death. I don't think I can trust him out there (today) but he is absolutely going to get high leverage high value targets.Name one WR Philly deploys weekly as their WR1, WR2, Slot, all of it...name one that is as good as Hopkins-Green-Kirk, heck even their rookie Rondale Moore looks like a gem right now and they all have a common factor, Kyler Murray is zipping the ball around and he has an UNBEATEN FOOTBALL TEAM he is welcoming Zach Ertz on to.
-Ertz might only play 20-25-30 snaps but he is going to be running around WIDE OPEN and I promise Murray is going to find him. I bet he rips off a nice one in the 20-30 range, has a couple more along the way. Something like 4/64 and maybe a red zone look or two whether he actually scores a TD or not.
This where talent meets talent meets talent meets opportunity.
This is where Ertz starts working on his HoF section of his resume helping Arizona win a Super Bowl and getting his 2nd ring.
Houston might just pass out some plays looking at this Offense and that's exactly what some of these plays are going to look like on Sunday, Houston just passed out before the snap of the ball![]()
I'm Flexing behind RSJ from WF, going 2 TEs today. Either Ertz or Rondale MooreI think you're probably right, and I hope so.
