Teaching English in Asia (1 Viewer)

Anyone have any experience teaching English as a second language in China, South Korea, Thailand, etc.?

I have been thinking of doing this for a while. Would like to hear from anyone who has experienced this.

Never done it myself but have had several friends do it. Every one of them loved it. One met her husband and is still there.

If you do this you will quickly learn that they can all correctly pronounce their "L's". It will be up to you to get them to mispronounce them, keeping intact one of the world's longest running gags. Prease do your part. Don't ret down awr those who have gone before you and who kept this gag going.

get your TOEFL certification is an advantage but you can also just show up like a buddy of mine did. He did a one-way ticket to SK and started working within a week. stayed there for like 5 years.

Had a good friend teach in Osaka for about 9 years. He loved it.

Having said that - not sure what your standard of living is now, but be prepared for pretty minimal living. You don't get paid very much. But if you don't mind simple living, it can be great.
