team D's in dynasty league (1 Viewer)

loose circuits

Footballguy
I never keep more than 2 d's and usually only hold onto 1 defense in my dynasty leagues. Maybe if I'm heading to the playoffs and see some match ups to take advantage of I'll pick up another or if I'm just on the cusp of making playoffs and need to take advantage of match ups, etc...

I just started in a new dynasty league this year and the wire is ripe with talent when I compare it to my other leagues and i constantly have players I want to pick up. Just noticed there are only 3 D's left on the wire. One team that is 1-6 is holding onto 6 defenses and another team has 4 (3-4 on the year). Another team with 3 D's is also 1-6 while a 5-2 team is also holding onto 3 teams, but that is somewhat understandable considering they may just want to play match ups if they already have a good team. Hoarding D's doesn't seem like a logical way to fix a losing team since you really can never trade a defense for much. I know I just had Cincy in another league and couldn't even get a 4th round pick for them and they are a top 5 D this year.

My question is do you recommend owning that many D's? what is the optimum amount? what is the average amount in your dynasty leagues?

:lmao:

I have 1 D for about 3/4 of the season. I might carry 2 during bye weeks or to cover tough matchups. I do not see how carrying 6 Ds makes any sense. That's just plain stupid.

If I have either Pitt/Balt/GB I usually hold onto forever. Otherwise, I just drop what I got on bye's and ride out the randomness.

I carry only 1 stud defense. On bye week, I grab the one with best matchup. Same for Kicker

yep, i rarely carry 2 K's although I did for Henery's bye last week. The funny thing is the guy with 6 D's bought Pitt for a decent chunk of auction money and paid a ransom for New England as well during the draft. What's the point of that when you are gonna hoard D's?

Once he gets them all then trade bait?My 1 dynasty league doesn't allow more than 2 D's on a roster, to avoid stupid carp like that. 30 man rosters, we are scraping the bottom of the barrel for sure, like it should be.
