#TeamRiley - FBGs Band Together (1 Viewer)

Absolutely remarkable. Been on this board since I was 15. Never ceases to amaze me.

Only downside is that Riley will know what  a nerd her dad was when shady tells her this story years down the road

what i believe is that most people have a lot of good inside them that is just waiting to get out but they dont know how but every once in a while a spark happens that is so obvious to everyone that they cannot help but pitch in and bam it lights up the sky and it is a hell of a thing to watch riley be that spark here
And Shady can actually take that to the bank.

1. For every person who has been on GM's back vis-a-vis Trump, this is why we love GM (and Cappy.)  Look upon their works, ye mighty, and despair. Or something like that.

2. I hope no one minds, I sent this thread to Eli Apple.
Like it!  Busting out the classics. Of course, if I remember correctly , we were to feel pathos at the irony of the words juxtaposed with the reality of the fallen colossus. The colossus of the Northwest still stands, his stride spanning the gulf between reason and shtick.  Long live GM.

Should send it to Ellen IMO

In. Over $6k, awesome job guys. I will check with CPA wife about tax implications for Shady.
Checked with the wife, and she states that she is not a tax CPA, she does mostly audits, but that gifts of this nature are not usually considered 'income.' She mentioned that people can give large amounts of cash ($13k) before the giver runs into 'gift taxes;' so we should be safe on all sides from taxes.

@shadyridr, when things get closer to taxes, if you need some help with this to confirm, let me know, and I will have my wife look further for you. She doesn't know off the top of her head, but she could look into it no problem.

I think the conclusion to be made here is that politics ####### suck. All the d00shbaggery and divisiveness in those threads, but at the end of the day, we all can come together for a worthy cause like this. I've taken a few names off my ignore list since this thread has been up.

The part that hits me the hardest isn't the amount of money raised (although it is a tremendous amount), it's that, as of now, 180 mostly total strangers were willing to donate money to another stranger simply because we all actually cared, I mean really cared, about what he, his child, and his family are going through.

The FFA are truly truly good people.

I can't wait to hear the story about how Shady explained to his family how these internet dudes "cornhole" with each other.
I can't wait until he tries to explain to his family that football guys has defeated countless BBQ restaurants, photo contests and now strokes.

Agreed.  I also find it ironic that we can hide a thread in the IDP forum so no one will find it, yet we can't get a political forum to keep the ifights contained.

I don't post much anymore but made a small donation last night.  Hope everything works out for Riley. Can't even pretend to imagine what your family is going through right now.

My family says we should share the campaign because more money we raise means more money for the foundation. I can't edit it at all even though cappy passed over ownership to me. I'll figure it out tonight

Over 10K now! Wow! Teary eyed! GooooooO little Riley! We are all praying and rooting for you! You are strong. You can beat this!!!

I think I can still edit it. What amount? Want anything else on there?

All I know is we better not see anymore "the FFA is going downhill" type threads.  This thread is proof that the FFA is stronger than ever.
Amen.  Things have really come together in a good way.  A story like this reminds you of just how petty all of our disagreements are.

Pic of Riley from the thread if you can and the name of the disease Incontentia Pigmenti and that she suffered a stroke and is in NICU. Ill leave the goal up to you guys. Once my sil shares this thing it's gonna explode

Once this is edited, post here and I'll share. I've trimmed my FB friends way back but it should gain a little traction amongst the people who still put up with me

Hope so!!!

I had a meeting with the buyer from JCI this morning who I do business with.  The guy was telling me about a situation much the same with his nephew but not as severe. I told him this story and that they had raised some cash to help offset expenses.  Right out of the blue he says I can relate and "I would like to donate something and let me know how it goes"

The guy is loaded but still it was a nice gesture.

All we need is a donation from Moobers and/or Studs.

Family members wanna share on Facebook. I feel funny
Don't, brother. Everyone wants to help- it sometimes stings the pride to accept help, but to quote Marcellus from Pulp Fiction "#### pride." I went through a similar situation, and some people on another board were very generous to my family, just like this. I was blown away that people I didn't know IRL would be so generous. It really moved me, and made me feel a little awkward and embarrassed at the outpouring of generosity and support. Just accept it with no strings attached.

We are all of us moved by your story, and empathize with what you're going through. You are handling this so incredibly well, but all of our collective hearts are breaking with the pain you and your family are going through. When bad things happen to good people, it is the Angels of our better nature that want to tip the scales back, in whatever way we can. Sharing your struggle and your journey helps us all to remember how beautiful and precious life is.

a quote from The Prophet, by Kahlil Gibran:

And you receivers - and you are all receivers - assume no weight of gratitude, lest you lay a yoke upon yourself and upon him who gives.       Rather rise together with the giver on his gifts as on wings;       For to be overmindful of your debt, is to doubt his generosity who has the free-hearted earth for mother, and God for father.
God bless you and your family, and your daughter is absolutely adorable.

Just sent in $50. Thanks to Yankee for reminding me.

I know I drive a lot of you guys crazy, and vice versa, and it's only going to get worse in the political threads over the next few months. But I really do love you guys. Stuff like this just impresses the #### out of me. You are all very very good people

Ok everybody here is the link:

https://www.gofundme.com/23r99vpt

gofundme does charge an 8% vig so we discussed other options. We considered PayPal and other sites, but we decided the potential for this site to get shared easily at Facebook or Twitter or even via text mitigated any fee. Basically, we think we will get more for him using this site even minus 8% than we will using something like PayPal which doesn't have any real ability to be shared.

Please pass around and do whatever you can to help. Thanks in advance (actually can mean that this time)
New page for any late donations and/or guys looking for the Friday thread.
