Tebow a QB1?! That's what I heard on the audible... (2 Viewers)

I lovee threads like these. I'm happy that tebow killed it yesterday. Good for him. I hope he keeps shutting his critics up rest of his career.

Of course when he plays like this there is very little value in most of the Denver wrs (apparently outside of decker). But I'll take a 30 pt day from my qb!!

13 fant points after that horrible game, lock and loaded for OAK
Horrible? Are ya sure? That could be the best he has to offer going forward. We may have seen his A game. You do know that Miami isn't an NFL caliber team right now and they kicked his ### for 3 quarters.
Tebow is averaging 25 points a game through 6 starts including 22 a game this year. Not bad. Probably no better than a solid QB2 if you're desperate.

Show me 6 QB's who average 25 points per game.

With some of the arguments being made by the Tebow-haters, it is hard to distinguish between sarcasm and reality.

I suppose they're running out of excuses for the production.1. He couldn't even beat the crappy Raiders!

2. The Texans defense is terrible and they have packed it in for the year.

3. He won't always get garbage-time points like that!

4. He can't play the Dolphins every week!

5. He won't always get garbage-time points like that!

6. Also, he's going to be benched soon!

Help us out guys, what's the reason du jour for why Tebow won't continue to put up QB1 numbers?
8. He has a crazy windup/delivery and will never be able to change it or make it work in the NFL.9. Teams will stack the box and dare him to beat them throwing (see #8).

10. If crazy Josh McDaniels hadn't drafted him 25th, he would have been a 3rd round talent at best.

What do any of these have to do with his ability to produce points in FANTASY football, especially redraft leagues? As long as he's starting for the Broncos, he should be starting for your make believe team.

Tebow did start for my magic football team this week and I was pretty happy with the results. The above was a reply to the question: Help us out guys, what's the reason du jour for why Tebow won't continue to put up QB1 numbers?

I like Tebow as a player and think he has legit, if not traditional, potential.

If Tebow is Christian, why is he not honoring 'God' all day on Sunday? Why is he working on the sabbath?

Exodus 35:2Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.
Oh I forgot, it's because religion is a joke.
pretty sure that doesnt pertain to the christians

To be specific, Tebow is a Baptist. That particular Christian branch evidently encourages athletic endeavors on Sundays.

Getting back on topic...I thought the following was an interesting read comparing Tebow's first 5 starts to Eli's:

First Five

Keep in mind, these don't include this past week either.

His schedule for the rest of the season doesn't look too great.
week team (defense ranking)10 KC (21)11 NYJ (8)12 SD (7)13 Minn (20)14 Chi (25)15 NE (32)16 Buff (26)Wow, look at the ff playoff weeks!
I think when looking at Tebow you have to consider weighing the QB matched data along with the RB match up data. I'm not sure how I'd split the data, maybe 70%/30% QB/RB. But it seems reasonable to consider both when trying to predict the value of the match up for a QB like Tebow. Either way the Broncos have decent+ match ups from this point on. This week will be interesting in that the Chiefs play a lot of man which traditionally can lead to long runs by the QB when he breaks to run and many defenders have turned away in coverage. But Johnson should be an ideal spy for Tebow. I am going to enjoy watching that match up this week.

I was especially impressed how "The Tebow" was able to make the Raiders commit 15 penalties for 130 yards pure genius.

8. He has a crazy windup/delivery and will never be able to change it or make it work in the NFL.
Because no quarterback has ever worked on their delivery.
Since you're the 2nd person to mis-read that reply, those were additional excuses added to the list of "reasons" why Tebow will not be successful is not going to continue be successful in the NFL.I believe he will be an above average starting QB in the NFL.

Very well then. Consider me in the loop now.

I don't get the hate on a personal level for Tebow. I am far from a religous person, but people's reaction to him seems pretty odd. Yeah, bible thumping can be annoying, but he seems like a nice enough guy...I find it funny how so many people will bend over backwards to forgive pieces of trash like Michael Vick and Albert Haynesworth, but never give this kid a break.

He is going to be a solid qb 1 going forward this year.

:goodposting: This is similar to the Cutler situation. He didn't kill anyone or anything, kick anyone in the head, he didn't holdout, or complain about his pay - all he did was sign the contract they put in front of him and go out and play as best he can.

I wish I didn't bench him for Romo this week.

Looks like a QB1 to me.

Interesting that lost in all of the actual (real life/NFL) Tebowmania talk is the fact that his fantasy value is on the slide.

In our league he's ranked 10th overall in avg/ppg since becoming a starter, and slipping down to 17th over the last 3 weeks. Nowhere near the fantasy points machine he was in 2010.

Any hope that this turns around... or has Denver settled into a "keep it close/win ugly" conservation mode with the defense playing lights out?

John Fox is the HC. I think that answers your question.
