Tebow to Jets (1 Viewer)

Jets are getting killed on the radio, but you have an O coordinator who was successful running a wildcat formation with Ronnie Brown. You essentially have one of the best wildcat QB's to play.If Tebow starts, then I think the Jets are in a world of trouble. If he comes on for 4-8 plays a game, i think it could benefit.
WFAN or ESPN? I'll tune in later. And I agree on your usage comment.

NY area is not that big on college football, so there will probably be less mania here than other places.
Denver, neigh, Colorado isn't very big on the college game either (to my dismay), but that didn't stop it from becoming a complete circus. I think you are kidding yourself if you think NY will be any different (and I would guess the circus tent will grow in NY).

I'd pay $5 to watch a live unedited video feed of Santonio Holmes hearing this news.
Tebow made a stud out of Demaryius Thomas.
I wonder if Thomas might have had something to do with that as well.
Naw, anything good that happens involving The Tebow is all due to him and him alone. The others are just lucky to be a part of it. Kickers kicking game tying & GW 55+ yard FGs can't happen without The Tebow. Marion Barber being stupid can't happen without The Tebow. Onside K recoveries can't happen without The Tebow. Don't you know that?
Lots of Tebow's detractors got butt-hurt when Denver made the playoffs, especially when they won a playoff game. Now he gets traded to the Jets where he'll have a chance to start & get even more pub. Life sucks, LOL. ;)As someone who simply believes in Tebow's talent, I'm amazed at how the Tebow "thing" has developed in FF circles. The dynamics are fascinating.

Do you have any idea regarding the types of throws Manning made in college versus the ones Tebow made? Tebow rarely threw the ball more than 5 yards down the field.
Do you?

Peyton Manning:

1994: 7.9 ypa

1995: 7.8 ypa

1996: 8.7 ypa

1997: 8.0 ypa

Tim Tebow:

2006: 10.8 ypa

2007: 9.4 ypa

2008: 9.2 ypa

2009: 9.2 ypa

how does this have any bearing on Grovediesel's incorrect statement?

I'm sure Francesa is having a field day. If he hates then I feel even better about it.

I guess, but a girl can dream? ;) We just need to add a ring for him. Jets circus already open for business.

So aside from Harvin, the incredibly talented Andre Caldwell (56 catches), Louis Murphy (37 catches), and Cornelius Ingram (34 catches) were routinely taking bubble screens to the house? I checked it out. I'm not seeing anything that shows Tebow rarely threw the ball 5 yards down the field as GroveDiesel claimed.

I honestly dont see the downside to this as a Jet fanCircus? Its the Jets - its going to be a circus no matter whatSanchez? If having Tebow makes him not succeed he needs to go anyway - sac up and playBackup QB - rather have Tebow or Stanton if Sanchez stinks it up or goes down? Salary cap? Tebow is signed for cheapPrice to get him? 4th rderRole in O - wildcat QB who will force defense to prepare for him - he ran over the Jet D in crunch time last year - think Brad Smith+ Where is the downside?
Good to see there's another voice of reason here.

I was listening to Mike on WFAN, he is very biased with Jets stuff in general, so naturally he killed them, likewise many fans calling in.

We could really use a NYJ tough opening 3 weeks and a 1-2 or preferably 0-3 start to take this cicrus to another level.

could only listen to that clown for 2 mins....

as a jet fan, i am slightly above neutral, what the hell.. let's give it a shot...

never a dull moment

I'm not defending that statement, but Florida's pass offense was designed for longer plays than Tennessee's and they had much better receivers.

(2) If the Tebow trade to Jets falls apart, St. Louis could wind up getting back into play. Sides sorting through details.

ST. LOUIS???? What?

Now on NFL NetworkDenver gets 4th and 6thJets get Tebow and 7thGreat deal for Broncos IMO. Much more than I thought they would get.
Great deal? The Broncos drafted him in the first round. Tebow almost single handedly turns around a horrible season and gives the team their first appearance (and playoff win) in many years. He's the most popular athlete on the planet. And all they get is a stinking 4th and 6th rounder?
Almost single handedly? In five of Tebow's seven wins the defense surrendered 15 points or less.
The defense played better once they realized the Broncos had a chance to win games. Tebow makes everyone around him better. He just does.

Also by adding Tebow, the Jets just became one of, if not the most difficult, offenses in the league to gameplan for. DC's are going to have to basically gameplan for 2 different offenses when they play the Jets now. And their short yardage and goalline offense just got a lot better.
The Pats already showed how to gameplan for Tebow,
So did the Jets, Bears, Chiefs, etc. But that's all those teams had to prepare for. The Broncos didn't have Orton or Quinn playing 2/3 of the game in a pro style offense.
and it's not like the Sanchez-led Jets were befuddling defensive coordinators around the league.
Agreed. I'm guessing that's why they let Marty's kid go and brought in Sparano as OC.

per Schefter:

Filed to ESPN (1): Denver and Jets have encountered hangup in language in Tim Tebow's contract that could nullify trade.

(2) If the Tebow trade to Jets falls apart, St. Louis could wind up getting back into play. Sides sorting through details.

Tim Tebow has $5 million worth of recapture language, meaning Jets would have to pay back money to Denver. Jets might be unwilling. Complex.

Let's not pretend that UT didn't have plenty of talent in the mid 90s.

Can't the Broncos just waive that?

And the Jets offense will have to split their practices into two offenses negatively affecting each of them.
I don't buy into this in the nfl. Sure, this would be a huge issue in college, but in the nfl, these guys have all offseason and preseason to learn how to run their stuff.

@AdamSchefter

The same money issues in Tim Tebow's contract caused complications for Jacksonville trying to complete trade. Now Jets facing them.

They pay the money to the Broncos, Elway slips them $5 million right back. Case closed. That's how much Elway wants an NFL QB in Denver.

Only bad thing for Tebow is the Jets have alot of me guys. Dont see alot of team/effort guys willing to buy in with the kid.
Yep, other players are letting him down already, just like in Denver. He deserves than this.

Pretty sure Manning isn't going anywhere.

I heard on the radio Cromartie was already throwing Tebow under the bus.

And why would the Packers be interested in Tebow?

You need backup QBs in the NFL  And now with teams being allowed to keep a 3rd QB active, Tebow can be a third stringer and come in for special packages. And Tebow has shown he can win so if he needs to come into the game after the starting QB gets hurt he at least gives you a chance to win. I wouldnt want him starting a game for me however.

Exactly. 30+ year fan...if you are a "real" fan, you know we are "lovable losers" like the Cubs. This is not a NYG, NYY or even NYM situation, where we "suffer" . If you can't handle a lifetime of loss, you need to move on. Honestly, I am not sure how I would feel if the Jets won the whole thing; happy, but then in "apocalyptic aftermath" mode, I would not know where to go from there...I am just thrilled the franchise has the courtesy to keep us entertained, versus a Jacksonville franchise that is consistently blase.

Good deal for Jets; bad deal for Tebow. I really dislike Elway even more than I did before. He knew all along he wanted Tebow out of town and should have just traded him early on during off season. By waiting, most of the teams with QB needs had addressed them in FA. He ends up sending Tebow to a team that already has a QB. Even Orton, who did far less for the franchise than Tebow, was treated better. He was released outright so that he could find the team he wanted. Elway is classless. I will never forget his face grimacing as Tebow led the team to victory.
Seriously? Elway had every intention to roll with Tebow unless the miracle of Peyton Manning signed his name. That miracle happened, and he dealt Tebow 2 days after.

Packers are one of the few teams that the fans would not be screaming for Tebow to start. If you got him cheap enough (7th round pick), he would be great for when you got to the five yard line. Rodgers moves the team up and down the field, Tebow scores all the TDs. Hope you dont have Rodgers in a dynasty league.
