Tebow vs. Sanchez (1 Viewer)

What chance do you give Tebow of developing into a quality NFL quarterback?

  • I think he already is one (I am Josh McDaniels or Tim Tebow).

I would have gone higher than 50/50 if he would have stayed in Denver. I don't think he'll learn as much or as fast on how to become a legitimate NFL starter from Sanchez as he would have from Manning/Elway.

How many "quality" NFL QBs are there in the NFL? Do quality QBs win half of their games? Do quality QBs win super bowls? Do quality QBs have a high passer rating? Seems use of that term could be argued all over the place depending on what it means to different people.

Sanchez sucks so you have to go with The Tebow and his unpredictability but he has no chance long term.

Yeah, sometimes life is like really, really confusing.

One bad play by Sanchez and the fans will be calling for Tebow

One good play by Tebow out of any formation and the fans will be calling for Tebow

I could be wrong, but I don't think the NYJ fanbase is going to get swept off their feet by Tebow - they're a little more jaded/negative, and knowledgeable than most I think.

I chose this option: "Starts off as #1, but eventually becomes their full-time starting quarterback" but assume you meant "#2".

Colour me surprised that Tebow is winning this vote. I don't really have anything to say about the statistical comparison, but Sanchez is just a winner; you don't lead your team to the 4 road playoff wins (tied for most ever by the way) in your first 3 NFL seasons by accident.

When I'm choosing what QB I want on my team, I want the one who's the bigger winner; that's why I want Sanchez.

I think he is already capable of winning more games than Sanchez would in 2012. I don't know what to think of your last question because I don't think he's ever going to become a prototypical NFL QB. I do think he is and will continue to become a winning QB with his skill set. It just looks a little different than most NFL quality QBs because he does it in a different way.

As a Tebow supporter, I would prefer they start Sanchez day 1. I think the Jets have overachieved the past several years overall and they need their expectations knocked back down to reality (maybe that already happened last year, I don't know). The worst thing that can happen to Tebow is to go to a mediocre team that everyone thinks is really good. If you thought people gave credit to the Denver defense, just imagine if he has similar stats and similar results with the Jets.

Quality NFL QB is not necessarily a standout super star(way over used). I believe Tebow will be a Quality QB, but not while he is in the Jets Circus!

I was thinking about this last night and wondered if Tebow isn't maybe the ideal type of backup QB. A team that is struggling can bring him in and he changes the whole game plan. Players seem to rally around him. He can make things happen running the ball. I think he could effectively be used as a real change of pace type QB. It seems so often that when an offense is struggling the defense starts really coming hard after the QB and the whole game plan falls apart. Tebow could come in and be the new game plan if things start to sour.

That second answer is too confusing: "Starts off as #1, but eventually becomes their full-time starting quarterback."

It should read: "Starts off as Sub-package/Wildcat qb/backup, but eventually becomes their full-time starting quarterback."

I might have voted for that if I had realized it meant that.

Sanchez owner here, just had to cough up up a mod 2nd and 4th for TT. This is going to be a mess but it's a 16 teamer... Had to be done

I think the Jets should use them like a RBBC. Start Sanchez and when he starts sucking, switch it up. Just go back and forth. I would be very surprised if the end product is much worse than fully starting either one.
